Did you swim today?

Worked up a sweat picking berries in the hot sun. 🚿 Then to the pool!
Did a few kick laps, hoping my feet were tight. Why haven't we evolved to be able to leave one eye out to watch ourselves swim?
Did some freestyle. Worked on staying long and relaxing the hands for entry. Hoping I'd remember to rotate one of these weeks.
Fly. Parts and 25 yards of full stroke. Beautiful stroke that I've seen others execute. How do "I" look? If it feels good, is it?
I'm backstroke challenged.
Now to make those lemon bars! Yeah and yum!0 -
Today: 1 mile @ 51 minutes1

Today; 1.5 miles. @ 76 minutes2

40 minutes. A little of all strokes, mostly freestyle and backstroke but also a good chunk of time working on fly.
I could just swim freestyle for 40 minutes, but I enjoy discovering the little ways I could swim all four strokes a little bit better.
Different strokes for different folks. (No pun intended)1 -

Greetings folks.
So I’m back after a year away, and really 2 years of not swimming consistently.
Gained back all the weight I lost too in the process :-) so I’m back on the wagon.
Although haven’t posted here, restarted 2 months ago literally swimming 3-400m
Trying to do 4-5 swims a week, and now back to 2.5 km per session
Lost 5 kilos so far.
Got replacement for old music player yesterday, which has forced me to bump up to a 64 strokes per minute stroke rate, closer to what I had grown accustomed to swim, and as expected times have dropped as I adjust.
But hey just glad to be swimming again, working on my form, cutting down the weight!
Excited to be back!2 -
Welcome back to the pool!0

33 minutes. Ten minutes of freestyle, thirteen minutes of backstroke, 8 minutes of fly and 2 minutes cool down.
Then a bike ride on a gorgeous August day.
Cheers!0 -

Finally, a swim. One hour, no idea how far. The pool closed for 6 weeks on Saturday. Time to get the last swims in...0

Six weeks! Then I can't complain about our pool closing for Labor Day weekend plus two days and my hour drive to the next closest pool (and Trader Joe's!)
Today's swim: backstroke only with the high school coach helping me go from a C- to a C+ swimmer. The workout thrashed me, but I enjoyed it, especially trying to kick and stroke with a 1/4 full cup on my forehead!
Cheers!0 -
45 minutes after lifting. Holy cats, I haven’t been in the pool two days in a row for ages. Let’s make it three!0

My pool switched its lanes to short course today, and it felt like a never-ending flip turn.0

Swam every day this past week Monday to Friday. Two half hour swims due to time constraints and 3 one hour swims!1

First time in the water after a low-speed car wreck that totalled my car and left me with two bruised ribs and a pretty darned good bruise all along the seat belt line.
I went slow, but was ecstatic complete 2,000m with lots of easy breast and back stroke to ease the tension across my ribs and chest.2 -
Two swims so far this week. 2.5km and 2km0

Welcome back to the pool and sorry about the car accident!0 -
Two swims in nine days. I'll take it. Oddest arrangement in the pool at the Bonsor Recreational Complex in Burnaby, BC: take a six lane pool and put in three lane lines to create four fat lanes, but it eases passing slower swimmers. And you can swim butterfly, too.
I'm back in more familiar waters in Washington State, where population density is far lower and they don't have to resort to the fat Lanes.1 -

So 4 swims of 2.5km last week. 10km for the week.
Tomorrow begins another week of the grind! 👊2 -
I did 48 minutes, trying to ignore the swimmers in the next lanes. That competitive part of me told me, "catch and pass him/her!" The cognitive part said, "no, dude, you came to swim better than yourself, not faster than John Doe. Focus!"
Failed at kicking on my back and balancing my water bottle on my forehead. I did it three weeks ago using a plastic cup. Need more practice!
Didn't feel connected while doing fly drills or full stroke fly, until the last two 25s, when I could just get one signal bar. Try again soon.
Cheers!1 -

Good week. 4 swims this week. Total 10km
This week my focus has been Working on when to punch the power in the stroke.
Previously power has been kicking in the moment hand enters water even while the hand still outstretched forward..
Now shifting the main power to when the hand has moved more in the water and into the highish elbow triangle!
Music keeping the motivation up!
Next week the grind begins again!1 -
5200 yards this morning 💪. Gotta swim extra this week cause there's a catered lunch at work this week, and it's wood smoked barbecue.1

Into the water, swam back and forth a few times, got out of breath and got out of the water. A good day at the office.
Home to make pizza, fat crust. 320 grams of flour, 1 tsp yeast, 1 tsp salt and 257 grams of bread flour. Knead 5 min, rise 90 min, roll out and rest 30 min. Prebake 5 min at 400. Add toppings and bake 15 min.
UH, UH, UH. Yum!0 -
1.25 miles in the lake, bringing an end to my outdoor swimming season. Did almost 30 miles open water this summer plus about 10 in the pool.1
