Much slower than I would like but trainer finally said today that since I’m not doing as much cardio due to my knee issues, he may need to cut my calorie allowance. Makes sense to me. But I do feel I’m getting stronger and I’m thankful for that.
I had some dental work done this week and for one more day I need to watch what I eat-in other words, no berries, red sauce, etc and to strive for white/light foods. So of course, now I want marinara and red wine and chocolate 😂
Hubby and I went out for Valentine’s Day lunch and it was a splurge - shrimp fettuccine Alfredo, Cesar salad with dressing on the side, and we shared a banana pudding (I had 1/3) But it was all light colored food! It was killing me to see all their chocolate desserts- I’m going to have to plan something appropriate in a few days.

Please use my current weight, I did not have the guts to get on the scale, I had a lax week and I know it will be way up. But I am regrouping this week and getting back to 100% committed.4

Whoa, this week, and the past few weeks, have been really kicking my *kitten*. I haven’t been able to get my focus on physical wellbeing back on track, and my mental wellbeing feels like I finally found solid ground after several weeks of spiraling freefall. The solid ground is rock bottom, but I feel like now I at least have something I can actually step on and start climbing back up.
This whole thing is very odd, because it’s rooted in a fast path to exhaustion/burn-out, and the situation at work is very complicated, especially with my boss. For the drama queens out there: no, there is nothing sexual or romantic happening or ever happened, but the situation is very complex and very emotional in many other ways. We had a long talk about my workload on Friday, and while it was mostly good and he really tried to understand what I actually do (and failed hilariously at some parts), he managed to communicate some things that really shattered my perception of the mutual respect and appreciation our working relationship has been built on for the past five years. So, I still don’t know if it was wise or not, but I ended up writing a very long and very personal email about how some things he has said and done (and left unsaid and undone) have made me feel, and it ended up being very honest and very emotional. The message was sent after 1AM on a weekend night, and I got an answer before 7AM, and he’s supposed to be on vacation (This time commitment says something about the level of emotional complexity and involvement of everyone in this mess). He did say he’d continue writing in more detail next week (while on vacation), so I guess I have a pen pal now to continue this painful discussion with. It’s a good thing that it continues though, because he’s on vacation the upcoming week and I’m on vacation the next, so spending two weeks dwelling, obsessing and twisting this inside my own head without talking about it would not lead to anything positive. I really believe and trust that good things will come out of this whole mess once the air is cleared and we have figured out some solutions to managing my workload. Right now it just is a mess, I feel horrible and shattered, and I have to start building myself back up.
On the bright side: I had another appointment with my dietician, and we started working on improving the quality of my breakfast. My afternoon snack is now top-notch after our previous appointment, and I’m hoping I can improve my breakfast habits next. On top of that, I just signed up for an aerial acrobatics course that starts in March, so I have a new fun activity to look forward to.
@boehle and @Beka3695, I think I should move to support for the rest of February, to get to a better place mentally and finding my healthy habits again before committing to a weekly weigh-in. I plan on spending the next two weeks recovering myself and my happiness again, and being back in March wiser and more connected to myself than before.5 -
Ariel acrobatics @hipari that is some leap (pun totally intended!)

I'm always a little disappointed by my steps. I've made some lifestyle changes like parking further from work therefore having to walk further and taking the steps instead of the elevator. Maybe next month I'll set a goal for how many steps I want a day. It should be easier once the weather is nicer too so I can take my kids for a walk. I am very proud that I'm crushing my exercises per week goal!1 -

Week 3, Monday
PW: 144.4 lb
CW: 142.0 lbs
(Trying to maintain around 65kg /143 lbs, +- 1.5kg / 3.3 lbs)
This week has been pretty good health wise. Two weeks ago I bought my first fitbit as a reward for getting to my goal weight, and I've been using its readings to try to optimise my sleep (answer always seems to be: go to bed even earlier!) and increase number of exercise minutes spent in peak/cardio/fat-burning zones. Funny how knowing that my heart rate is being tracked can motivate me to push myself a little bit harder than I otherwise would.
I'm feeling a bit more "in the groove" of maintenance now - been at it for 6 weeks - and am confident my maintenance plan is good enough.
Biggest struggle is with the stuff outside of my control - challenges with my teenage daughter, and what a roller coaster being a parent is, with our kids able to turn best-laid plans upside down so easily. Coping mechanisms and stress management are, as always, a work-in-progress. There's nothing like stress to make me want to inhale chocolate or whatever else is accessible! But this week I have done pretty well at keeping those urges under control. Yes I have eaten some chocolate, but I restricted it to a single serving on any given day (didn't binge) and stuck to dark chocolate and sugar-free chocolate.

I'm hoping this is the week I get my mojo back.
Kept under my calories today. In quite a bit of pain and started back at work today. I'm glad the weight is dropping. I need a new compression garments so have squandered another $$$.
I'm now 3kg away from my maintenance weight and can't wait to be back working out.3 -

Well I had a lovely Valentine’s day weekend… complete with chocolate, mac and cheese, cotton candy, buttery pop-corn, and much more.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I didn’t even count the calories.
I am feeling guilty and down this morning. This is the time when I have to recommit, forget the past, and get going again. I am really struggling to find the motivation right now when I feel certain that I lost a good bit of progress. It is frustrating, but I have nothing to blame except myself.

You haven't lost anything @guitargirl55 and I hope you thoroughly enjoyed the weekend. This isn't a linear programme or a strict obedience cult, slowly get back into the swing of things. A weekend off plan is a mere blip. Looking forward to next weeks weigh in4

Right there with you. I had some dietary restrictions due to some dental work so I had shrimp fettuccine Alfredo and banana pudding for Valentine’s Day. Then we had BOGO free subs for dinner (ate half and saved half for Sat lunch). Then Saturday my daughter was in town and we went out to dinner with her friend. Cajun (I had seafood gumbo which was probably the best option on the menu) but we had authentic New Orleans king cake for dessert which was fabulous!! Ran into our local crack, er Girl Scout cookie dealer so made our annual purchase. I’m sending a whole box of Thin Mints home with my daughter. 😭 Lunch and dinner were ok yesterday but snacked on all the wrong things all weekend. I’m up 1.5 pounds from Friday! 😢 Anyway, lets recommit to this week and get back on track together!4 -

I've got the flu, so eating cake seemed like the best pairing with Mucinex. It wasn't the best Valentine's Day, but the scale was nice to me. I haven't worked out for days, so that may bring a gain next week. The cake is gone, so I can focus on eating better. I'm still eating Mucinex like candy though- yummy (ha ha).
I miss that feeling of completing a nice workout. I think the best option for me is to do a stretching/yoga workout. I usually just veg, but then I feel stiff. Gee, I've never thought of that before. Let's all move to the best of our ability today, enjoying what our bodies can do. I just need to keep the kleenex nearby- maybe my sinuses will drain better if I'm in downward dog!5
