The mortality rate Of the coronavirus IS much worse than the flu.

The US cannot expect to have a similar experience as Wuhan & China.

The US does not have enough ventilators for those who will need them. Nor free hospital beds.

The fiasco with the testing will have increased final death rate by a factor of 10.

Stay home if over 60 years old.

Experts estimate we’re only a week behind the situation in Italy.

Stay home, if at all possible. The more we do now, the fewer will die.

@MadisonMolly2017. Largely true and unpleasant to hear.

I prefer a less "emotional" way of looking at things.

    Some positive things to remember:
    • Most of the isolation measures are to SLOW the spread of the virus so that enough resources may be available for those who need them. The slower the virus spread progresses, the better the chances of enough resources being available to those who really need it.
    • If you do go out, simple preventative measures like frequent hand washing, not touching face and keeping respectful distances from others are enough to greatly reduce chance of personal infection. (face masks are NOT required unless you have the virus or or caring for someone know to have the virus).
    • Most people who do contract the virus will have mild symptoms, and will require no more than care than if having a cold or flu.
    • This episode in history will pass and life will continue.

Language and the way things are expressed is so powerful.

Generally I totally agree with you. But in this case, too many people are not looking at the facts. (Not you) The research clearly shows early, drastic measures can slow the death rate by a factor of 10. I’m frustrated because I don’t want unnecessary deaths. I’m blunt because people truly need to self-isolate if at all possible yesterday.

Forgive me but it’s because I care deeply about everyone...
