Yes, yes, yes, it was a good day.
I took a long hike, almost 6 hours. I have been trying to work up to being able to climb the mountain just east of our house, something I can do from home. Today was my furthest and highest yet, I walked 6.3 miles (10.2 km) and climbed 2,250 ft (687 m), 28,401 steps according to my walking app. There is no trail, its all bushwacking and some is very steep, has taken me a while to find a route that should work. Today I managed to climb 59% of the elevation I need to to get to the top, my goal is to be able to do it all by the end of summer. I think I can make it. The peak I am trying to climb from my house, the starting point.
The peak from my highest point today, it sure looks within reach.
This is my big deal for the summer. A year ago and 130 lbs heavier I struggled to make it the 300 ft to the mailbox, and did not believe I would ever be able to walk very far again. I was wrong.

@RangerRickL Great sign! Love it.
I see vultures all the time. I live next to an American Civil War battlefield. Apparently, there were so many dead soldiers and horses that the vultures moved in -- and have never left. I see them soaring over the fields and sometimes sitting on the ground or in the trees. From a distance they look like old men in black jackets.2 -

Stayed well under today-- the food was under my limit even without needing the exercise calories from decluttering and a walk. Feels good!10 -

Yes to the triple power
Enjoyed sunshine with a long hilly hike but only one glute is sore... weird... I wonder if it has to do with driving stick shift for years as I wore a hole in my fav jeans only on one cheek side or if one leg is shorter like my dad.7 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, fitbit gave 96 active minute credits, so probably even longer (plus my dead-bug core work which takes only a minute or two)
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, even after expanding my evening snack, I couldn't manage to eat most of my (over 200) exercise credit calories.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

Hi All, I was here for a while in late 2018 through mid-2019 I think. I’d like to join again this month. I had a baby on Feb 2nd. I had insulin resistance (Or glucose intolerance?) during pregnancy and it’s not getting better. So I am eager to get the pregnancy weight off ASAP. Most of the pregnancy was miserable— I could barely move! Seriously, just waking across a room was a lot. I have a lot of work to do just in reestablishing basic habits— logging, exercising. I think being in the challenge will bring a lot of motivation. I don’t need to be in the winner’s circle this month— I’m going to be happy just getting on track. THANK YOU for the challenge!!!

@RangerRickL I would be very leery of that school. I hope that there isn’t a Rattle Snake Prep-School too! Nice pics.
@Hollis100 I could only imagine. They must be a sight to see.
@readyornot1234 I am sorry to hear about your illness. I must have missed the discussion. ‘Praying for a speedy and complete recovery!

Calories, reduced again and my caloric budget tightens. Today was a lesson in negotiating the potholes that caused me to crash and burn in the past. 3 key tools that helped today: Track everything. Count every taste lick and bite. Stay on budget. (Where have I heard that before? ‘Still cant move like before but I am getting there.

@alligatorob You are my hero!! Thank you for sharing your weight loss victory. You are definitely an inspiration. I'm grateful when I climb 300 to 700 feet. I don't have any ridges higher than that to climb.
