Ugh! So close! I have been going up and down all week but never dip under. Hopefully this week...Good day yesterday, I have been doing well with my plan but back to my usual struggle over eating. I remember before the quarantine, I was starting to cut back on my meals. I am going to go back to eating 1/2, see how I feel and then continue. Another problem I have, is to remember to do that. I am going to focus on eating and the hunger scale this week. I would love to be back in onderland next week.
Jim wants to go to the shore on Sunday for a few days. Of course it is going to rain on Monday but it will still be nice to go away. I am hoping to start getting down there a few days a week soon. I don't want to leave Jim too long. I am hoping maybe I can be there longer towards the end of the summer and early fall.
It is beautiful in Philly. Temps are to be in the mid 70s and no humidity! I need to get out there and enjoy it! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
@Ademann1 I can see why you would be stressed! Taking care of 5 little ones is stressful enough without a party on top of it Lol! I am sure everything will be lovely. Hope you can enjoy it. Since you are hosting, you can have a little control over what is served. Have a plan for what you are going to eat/drink and stick to it. You can have fun and still honor your plan.
@lenka1 The scale is still moving in the right direction even with your party. Great job getting back into your routine!
@GingerPwr You make the best breakfasts! I think everything you post sound delicious but for some reason the breakfasts really get me lol!
@Mrsbell8well Sounds like you are doing wonderful! Hope you have a great weekend!
@nstephenson01 No worries about the weigh in, MFP is so glitchy. Nice loss! Yes! 160s are at your doorstep! I am also glad you are feeling better. It is true how now a days our mind goes to the worst when we are sick. It doesn't help that Covid seems to have every symptom imaginable.
@CassieGetsFit2013 I think the deer netting sounds like a good idea. Even though Idk what that is I thought it was funny I read about the chicken wire after I read your post. Good luck!
@Cafelelia Those little losses add up! Plus the scale has been pretty consistently going down for you. You are doing fantastic!
@1theresamcvean I am so happy you are going to be able to get together with family! I know you have been waiting for so long! xo. That picture is beautiful! It does look like a painting!
@lennoncpa Maintaining isn't bad. You have been losing pretty consistently during the past few (or more) weeks. You are doing great and you must be getting close to your goal.
@KUMEcyclingteam Great job! You will be in the 2teens before you know it!!
@bburrer30 Just think, keep doing what you are doing and when the TOM is gone, you will have a nice drop. You got this!
@hope002 You just keep moving down on that scale! Great job! Hope all is well.
@brown6267 Looks like you are doing well maintaining. Hope all is well!
@Zumba_Luvah Whoo hoo! Good bye 170s! Great job!3 -

Hi all,
@pacsnc6 - so glad the chemo is all done with, fingers crossed it's done what it needed and you can move to the next step! Congrats to your grandson, how nice that they still managed to arrange some sort of ceremony for them.
@Mrsbell8well - Wow, that's some serious cooking going on - all sounds yummy. I love your teddies! I have quite a few
@lennoncpa - go you with the restaurant food - eating out always used to be one of my downfalls so need to be careful when it comes back.
@Cafelelia - how lovely you got to see your mum, I am seriously missing my folks. Hopefully won't be too long before can take a trip to visit.
@bburrer30 - TOM is always frustrating but might mean you get a big drop next week. Hang in there x
@Zumba_Luvah - woot, congrats on hitting the 160s, you're inspiring me!
@sleepymom5 - sooooo close to one hundreds, will def make it next week I'm trying to focus on my hunger scale this week as week, have noticed it sliding a bit and need to concentrate more on how my body is feeling rather than what my head is craving
Congrats to all the losers this week - great job
Am feeling a little unmotivated this week. Had a few slip-ups earlier in the week and am trying to get back on track. Work has also been stressing me out. They want me to go back into the office next week, which I am not completely comfortable with. The government guidelines are still saying that you should work from home if you can (which obviously I can as have been doing for the past 3 months!) so I feel it's too early. I sent them a message saying I was concerned, especially about having to use public transport and could they work with me to sort something on that side - eg if someone in the office could pick me up or they would share taxi costs with me. They haven't bothered replying (even though they're answering other emails) so currently have no idea what is happening. My friend/flatmate is high risk so I don't want to be taking chances. I feel that technically they can't legally make me go against government guidelines, but I also don't want to end up in a stand-off with them.5 -
@sleepymom In addition to mindful eating and splitting portions in two, which I am so happy to have learned here, one thing I've been doing quite a while is making any recipe with extra vegetables to increase the volume, less of the carb ingredient, and sometimes if it's beef, less of that too (this could be for stews, soups, stir-fries, pastas, anything that has all the food groups). Then, because the extra veggies increases the overall volume, I take a recipe that was, for example, 6 servings and make it 8. I record it in the MFP Recipes here and over time I've gotten quite used to these new 'serving sizes.'3

@Zumba_Luvah Congratulations on getting into the 160s. That must feel fantastic.

@podperson1 Shelli, I'm sorry to hear about the stress of possibly having to return to work, especially envisioning needing to use transit. I think it's also exacerbated by not getting an email back when you know they are returning other emails. I hope this means they are trying to help you connect with someone to share a ride with. I won't be going on transit for a very, very long time. The idea of it is just frightening. Be firm. Hugs.1

I drove to Chicago for the weekend and we walked to breakfast to celebrate Sunny’s 1 year birthday. The waitress brought him an enormous bowl of whipped cream! So crazy!7 -

Yesterday was a good one. It was really nice seeing my mom. She did so well during lockdown, but she is feeling so much better mentally now that we can be with her and give her hugs. I am not exactly sure how I am going to “unspoil” my younger son after this visit. He is already talking about staying longer with my mom so he can get more pampering.
@zumba_luvah - Congratulations on your new weight decade!! I think that you are close to goal?2 -
@Freeglerock Love the pictures of your garden!
@lenka1 and @xX_PhoenixRising_Xx Impressive cakes! You ladies are quite talented!
@melaniedscott I have never been so entertained reading about weeds!! Thank you... I enjoy your style of writing!! That is quite a lot to manage tho. Sodium is a weakness for me as well. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but I can get down with salt.
@1theresamcvean My garden is in survival mode. June's weather is fickle here in Montana... we have some very hot days and then some very cold ones. Parts of MT received several inches of snow just the other day. If my garden survives June, it will flourish July/August/September. Your garden patch is super cute and your terrace are lovely!! I want to join you there with a glass of wine. Big congrats on your IG and FB features... terrific accomplishment!!
@cafelelia I used to get migraines in my 20's and 30's also but fortunately don't get them very often anymore. Glad you are feeling better and how wonderful you were able to see your Mom finally! I love that your son spent the week with her. I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with my grandparents when I was growing up. Not sure that's necessarily often the case with a lot of kids these days.
@pacsnc6 best wishes for good results from your CT scan and congrats on completing your chemo sessions thus far. Hoping that's the last of them for you.
@tryingagain5 I find it sooo easy to gain weight during the summer because we tend to socialize more with food. You stay away from those 200's, you hear me Linda!! I know you can get back on track and hope you're able to get back to the gym.
@sleepymom5 Happy Belated Anniversary!! Congrats to 30 years!! Hope Daisy is on the mend by now. You'l be seeing those 190's next week for sure!!
@ljdanny So sorry about that news from your doctor. Not fun! We also have the kind of mattress that arrives rolled up. Actually we have two. We bought the first one for our RV as an experiment and loved it so much we bought a second one for the house. Don't recall the brand but its a knock off tempur pedic style. I think you'll be very happy with your new mattress. It does take a couple of days to fully expand so be patient.
@lennoncpa oh yay a Sunny pic!! That dog has the life!!3 -
Daily check in for Friday
Food: 14:10 IF. We got Thai takeout last night for dinner. It was delicious and I ate a bit beyond full. Not as bad as I could have or have done in the past but wasn't as disciplined as @lennoncpa was with your restaurant meal. I'll keep working on it.
Water: Good
Exercise: 15,888 steps; 4 mile hike with the fur babies
Saw 169 on the scale yesterday morning... ooh happy dance but that didn't keep me from overeating last night. Doh!! I still need to get my plan together or I'll be back in the 170's in no time.
Almost caught up with posts. Sorry I haven't commented to everyone individually but keep on keepin' on. The wind is crazy right now and I'm afraid we might lose power so better hop off here. Wishing everyone a good, successful weekend.3 -

Finally down a little! It’s been a long week. I had my CT scan on Tuesday to check my lung nodules, and apparently they are stable and the mass, which they say is scar tissue from my lumpectomy, is smaller. So that means...I get to have my port taken out! Yay!
My steps this week are down some but my calories burned are higher, I’ve been using the ladders a lot at work and I hold on to the rails with my left hand so I think I’m missing a lot of steps that I’m really getting.
I was able to work in my garden some this morning. I started at 7 am and came in around 3 because it started raining. I have half a row of beets left to weed but it’s looking really good! I may be able to pick some peas next weekend!
I hope everyone’s doing well and that you all have a great weekend!6 -

Thanks, Nancy
I really hope the gym can open sooner rather than later. Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula have been open since Memorial Day, gyms and all.
I really don't want ro see the 200's again. Definitely too close to it. Im pretty sure my issue is not having much to do since every evening activitiy I was doing isn't happening right now. So not only am I home more, my sleep schedule is all screwed up. My work schedule is also all over the place. This week I worked 28 hours, last week was 16. Next week, hard to tell.
I know I shouldn't eat out of boredom but am sure that's what I've been doing. I have made a plan for next week that should help some.3 -

Not sure why it didn’t post before???7 -
I've gotten in my 30 minutes of exercise and my 6 glasses of water the last few days. Still working on the eating part.
I made a Hawaiian chicken dish yesterday and a chicken, potatoes and carrots dish today. I've got them all in individual containers for next week's dinners. I made a cold veggie dish, (broccoli, cauliflower, grape tomatoes and Italian dressing all mixed together)
I made some energy bites for some snacks and am going to make some overnight oats tomorrow for my breakfasts.
It smelled really good in my condo yesterday and today. A neighbor stopped by this afternoon and she could still smell the crockpot meal I had made earlier the day.5 -

Weigh in week 3
PW 255.5 (115.9 kg)
CW 253.3 (114.9 kg)
That's last week's gain plus a little extra gone.
I saw my doctor this week and we are changing my migraine meds, a lot of the feeling awful that I've been putting up with can be put down to side effects of Topamax which I've been on a high dose off for over a year. It's nickname is Dopamax and they're not kidding. I didn't realise that so many other things I was getting were known side effects though. But extreme tiredness, vision disturbances, dizziness, ringing in my ears and forgetting everything including basic words, just to name a few. My migraines are severe though and all of that is better than them coming back, but I can't function anymore on that med. So now we have to trial and error dropping the dose and increasing another med I'm on and hope I don't get knocked out for weeks by a migraine.
@Cafelelia when I was locked out I sat in the sun, did what work I could from my phone, and then decided to just sit and meditate/be in the moment. I don't ever get time to just be still. It was quite nice! I would have walked and got a coffee but I had no idea when hubby was going to turn up and rescue me. The one day he had gone into the office and I interrupted a meeting he was in. 😆
@sleepymom5 Happy belated anniversary! And I hope Daisy is doing much better now.
@KUMEcyclingteam You are doing awesome!
@Mrsbell8well I love your scavenger hunt. When I was a kid we had a section at the beach and my mother set up a scavenger hunt for my birthday once. I remember having to find 3 grains of sand, a crab, and a cockle shell amongst other things. 8 year old me was not happy about the crab!

Okay, posting my end of week steps a bit early: 39906.
Spent nearly 2 hours working in the garden this am. Time got away from me. War with taproots is engrossing (and exhausting).
Haven't done core in a few days...it has been get walks in or do core. I need the walking more than the core, so walking wins. I've managed at least 30 min a day six of the last seven days! Yay! Been really tired this week. Started feeling a little rough yestetday evening and woke up with an ugly headache. It has edged off a bit but is really tenacious. Hoping tomorrow is better.
Been doing really well on water and so so on calories, generally keeping on track but sometimes only barely. Keeping sodium down is hard!
We had Indian tonight--I ate half...and will have yummy veggie korma for breakfast. Mmmmm! Love the Indian!!!7 -

@zumba_luvah - Congratulations on your new weight decade!! I think that you are close to goal?
Yes i am. 4.6 pounds away. I'll set a new goal once I reach this one5 -
This week my water I was able to drink 64 oz ever day , next week my goal is 82 oz . Which I think I can do that .
My steps were great this week, and my food I was only off on 2 days which is fine . One was our date night ♡ this weeks miles I did 20.08. My favorite hike was for the kids last day of online schooling. I planned a " field trip " . We hiked to a nature megaphone. It was a beautiful hike even though it was 85°
Daily steps
June 7th: 6,213
June 8th: 14,451
June 9th: 11,760
June 10th: 16,527
June 11th: 11,985
June 12th: 11,453
June 13th: 17,197
My goals for next week are:
1) 82 oz of water
2) min of 12,000 steps daily
3) 15 miles of hiking
4) 3 days strength training6 -
Saturday / end of the week check in
Tracked food and was over
Need to track and drink more water. I think that will be next week's goal.
Got the steps in this week....
Sun: 15,137
Mon: 3,263
Tue: 19,090
Wed: 22,493
Thur: 17,651
Fri: 18,640
Sat: 20,702
Total for the week: 116,976 Yippee!
But the eating and drinking are keeping me from loosing.
@lennoncpa I'm impressed that you still did the online classes, I couldn't get into them. I'm up early still but had trouble actually getting out of the house. This week I did. My gym opens up on Monday too but I don't know if it is just machines or weights, you have to sign up for a time, but I never liked those, it was the classes that I really liked. I would wake up excited to go. Not so excited to walk by myself. I also am nervous about the lake of respect others have for others health concerns. I started walking with friends and that helps a lot.
@podperson1 I'm with you about being concerned about going into a work environment after being home for so long. If you have to go in, you should be fine by taking care of yourself. Even though you are suppose to wear a face covering here in Los Angeles, half of the people I see out are not wearing one. My husband and I always wear one.
@pacsnc6 sending you positive energy that you don't need anymore chemo!
@bburrer30 Great view!
@Zumba_Luvah congrats!
@sleepymom5 and @xX_PhoenixRising_Xx sorry about the migraines and headaches. Those are the worst!4 -
11pm Sunday night - pretty good weekend, food on track. Spin bike both days, but just 30 min sessions. I am really feeling the med side effects with tired and dizziness right now, hoping it all settles down soon. I had a nice long nap this afternoon!
@melaniedscott I have tried so many different drugs... my migraines only started in my 30s when I also developed Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. A migraine can give me symptoms for up to 2 weeks, and I have permanent nerve pain in my eye and face without meds controlling it. I think the worst med I ever had though was Lyrica - I was having conversations with the psychedelic space aliens from the back of my flying unicorn on that one. 🤪🙃 I have no idea if it helped the pain because I don't believe I had a body after a couple of doses! Came straight off it after a few days!
@bburrer30 What a beautiful photo!3 -
Daily check in Saturday
Food-yummy
Water-good drank lots of peppermint suntea
1 hour strenuous yoga
20 minute walk, ping pong, corn hoe, badminton
Sleep 10 1/2 hours
Weight this morning up .2
Went to my daughters for a bbq. 3 of her boyfriends relatives are “foodies” and swooned over all my goodies I brought. The Tzakziki sauce was a huge favorite. And the desserts but everything was good. Mom said she liked the vegan Mississippi Mudd bars better than the original.
I made my Saturday goal yesterday of 149. On track to lose a pound a week and hit 142 by August 1st.
I bought a pair of green cargo pants to wear to the party. They fit great but not much give on the waist. Helped me to not over eat. I stayed mindful. But I did have a piece of each dessert.
I was in bed by 7pm and asleep before 7:30. All the pushing to the edge took its toll but I slept great.
Long To Do list today too but nothing dreadful. Making another double batch of brothy soup for my sick friend and her husband. Mom is making fried chicken for her kids. Going to try my hand at sewing masks. Finishing the mulch in the backyard. Working on my planner and goals.
Starting the day with yoga and a walk.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!5
