Yesterday was kind of an unplanned rest day. Just spent the day being lazy, but I felt like I needed it.

Today I caught up on my workout, and we're heading to the pool later and I'll do some laps.

I saw some nice losses the last couple of days from y'all! keep up the great work!

@1theresamcvean That's an awesome feature from bestbodybootcamp! Congratulations on losing 5lbs of fat, too! That's the real accomplishment. Way to go!

@lennoncpa You had a great plan and you stuck to it! Doesn't that feel great?!? Way to go!

Thanks everyone! You’re guys are so sweet!!

I keep reading just didn’t find time to respond.

I got back to tracking and working out so I’m hoping no more bumps this month. It’s just so hard when you take off one weekend. I literally crashed for 3 days then and didn’t care. I can’t be doing this. Not mentally/physically there yet to be able to accommodate cheat days.

    @sleepymom5 Happy anniversary!
@Freeglerock wow!!! What a garden. Lot of work too but I bet it pays off when you eat those Yummy fresh veggies and fruits

Some great losses this second week! Let’s keep it going :)

Thanks, Casey. It's the best five pounds I've lost. I can really see it ~ my waist, shoulders, and triceps look much better. One of my friends used to joke that when you can see the tricep line, you can thank your trainer.[/quote]

Ha! I'm starting to see my obliques and some thigh definition. My upper body is WEAK. I need to just start doing daily push ups.

@1theresamcvean my garden is doing well, the weeds are starting to take over, every time I think I’m going to have an opportunity to fill it, the storms start! I’ll try to get some pics this weekend!

    I love seeing everyone’s pics!

I don't think I'll see my obliques for a bit. Need to lose more weight. They're under there somewhere.

Happy belated Anniversary! Doing ok. Not working much since work hasn't picked up yet, hopefully soon.

Got some exercise in the last couple of days but no walks since Saturday. A few days it was 90 and too humid for walking. Last night there was a bad storm that came through. It knocked out power to work for a while (happened during 2nd shift so I wasn't there yet) It cause problems with the machines. If that hadn't happened we wouldn't be working tonight. Another storm came through today, no damage where I live but lots of damage close by and all over the area.

I've come up with a plan for next week so making progress even if it's slowly. Planning on making some meals for dinner, overnight oats, energy bites for snacks. Also going to make sure I get in at least 30 minutes of exercise and at least 6 glasses of water.

Restaurants were able to open at 50% capacity this week and with other restrictions. Some decided not to do that since they would be losing money so they're going to continue takeout.

I can finally get my haircut next week. I definitely need one.

The gym is hoping they will be able to open the 22nd, if not that week it will be the following week. They said they're not getting any clear direction. I really can't wait to get back. For whatever reason I do much better working out when there are other people around me.

    Tracked food... slightly over
Did not track water. I need to try
Took 3 walks today and got 22,493 steps
Hopefully that helps balance out my going over in calories

@tryingagain5 I feel the same way about working out at a gym. It motivates me. Gyms are opening up here on Friday but I don’t know if I’m comfortable going to a gym. Waiting to hear their procedures. I love the 6am HIIT classes and the cardio boxing. Not sure if classes are coming back. I know you will have to make an appointment.

@1theresamcvean congrats on the Instagram and especially on the 5 pounds of fat! And with a broken toe. I broke my toe in January and it took two full months to recover and have no pain. Just as COVID hit, I was starting to feel I could exercise on it! Great job!

I got my hair colored today! No more grey! That really cheered me up!!!!!!!

I was just recently 157.6. This morning 148.2. I recall the exact day I made a decision...160 in June, or back to goal. It’s a choice. Coming home from my walk this morning I felt like a winner! Success breeds more success. It’s worth it team!
I am loving Omnivores dilemma by Michael Pollan. I would highly recommend it. A big take away for me was his writing about our disconnect with food and social interaction. I realize that Molly and I almost always eat dinner watching tv. Last night we sat in the dining room and ate dinner together. It was delightful. We even skipped tv all together.

I really enjoyed his book Cooked. I don't generally like nonfiction...I get enough reality in my work (worked in Corrections for 15 yrs and now in Education for 2+). But his book was interesting and engaging. Included some recipes but I think he must cook for a army or a team of pro athletes or something, those recipes would serve 20 people! And I'm too lazy to scale that much...too much math. And I always flub the math on 1 ingredient...sigh. I'll have to look for it.

You might check out Fat, Sugar, Salt: How the Food Giants Have Hooked Us by Micheal Moss. It is older (>10yrs) but really interesting and makes you think about what you eat and why.

    Check in Wednesday 6/10
    Food-logged and on target
    Water-64 oz
    Exercise-30 min walk

Very productive day yesterday. I waited until the evening to take my walk since I was getting so much done during the day. Did well with food and water too. No reason for today not to be a great day too! Got to get moving. I am hoping to get food shopping this morning. It is such a pain so I end up putting it off until we have nothing left in the house. Hope everyone has a great day today!

@Cafelelia Another great day! Seems like you are in a good routine!
@tryingagain5 I am glad that your gym will be opening up again soon. I know you prefer going to the gym but give yourself credit, you were consistent with exercise for most of the quarantine. It may not have been the intensity that you were used to but you still did it. I went for a walk around 9 last night and it was still humid out. I guess the humid days I need to find something else to do. Daisy wouldn't even leave the driveway, I had to bring her back to the air conditioning Lol! I also like you plan going forward with cooking dinners. I am sure you can turn this around. :)
@GingerPwr Nice loss! I liked you quote and so true-a little progress each day does add up!
@1theresamcvean I love your garden AND your terrace! It looks so inviting! Congrats being featured for the Best Body Bootcamp pages! How exciting and well deserved!
@lennoncpa How nice to be able to go to a restaurant for lunch! It is awesome that you made a plan and stuck with it too. That is what I call success!
@lenka1 You probably crashed because of all the work that goes into the party you had plus all your responsibilities with your little ones! It was well deserved time off. I know you will be right back into your routine and kicking butt again!
@pacsnc6 Was that your last chemo? I know you are very close. Glad that lab work was all good too. Hugs!
@CassieGetsFit2013 I am sure one day isn't going to ruin your progress. Just get back to doing what you have been doing. You have been making amazing progress lately. I am sorry to hear about the little bird. I know there was a little FB argument on my town page about those sticky traps with small animals. I am glad you went out when you did too.
@JillyBT Amazing steps! I am sure all those walks balanced out going over your calories. You are really doing well getting back on track.
    @Mrsbell8well Fantastic progress!
@melaniescott I am going to add those to my reading list. Sounds interesting.

@melaniedscott I have the salt book too. That is next on my list. I am setting aside 15 minutes during lunch time to educate myself by reading non-fiction.
I just finished Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. It was excellent! Molly read it right after me and finished last night. Highly recommend this work of fiction.

I have to laugh...I feel naked without my profile picture. I changed it yesterday but there seems to be some sort of glitch. I am sure you will see me again at some point lol.

Feeling a little tired. I think it is residual from that migraine and the end of school rush for the kids. They have so many final assignments due. It was a little sad for my older son this morning. He had to return to his school to drop off textbooks and his band instrument. They just completely cancelled grade 8 grad. I know it is not like grade 12, but I remember feeling like it was a big deal when I was in grade 8. So his little trip to school this morning felt like a sad way to end things. On the 25th, I am surprising him with a distanced celebration in our backyard with some family, a little grad cap, cake etc.
@pacsnc6 - I really hope that the chemo sessions are over and you have the surgery. Congratulations to your grandson!
@1theresamcvean - Great analysis and you are doing fantastic!
@JillyBT - You are doing great!!

@Cafelelia I feel really sad for your older son. Grade eight was so significant for both of mine. For my daughter, the grad celebration is still clear in my mind. She went to Quest so it was quirky. I was thinking about your son going off to a different high school than many, if not all, of his friends. My son's two very best friends are from grade eight even though they are all grown up men. Maybe what will bond your son and his friends is going through this historic period together yet apart. Big hug to him. If he's taller than you already, get on the first or second stair and lean over for a big mom hug. Poor guy.
