Sunday check in
Food - on target
Water 1.5 l
Exercise - 5.5 km walk, 11291 steps
I managed to cajole son #2 back to Toronto with me today. I am taking him back to my mom as soon as school ends anyway, so just 9 days away. The teachers are still assigning work this week. Omg. I respect their commitment to teaching the curriculum and I know some parents who have the opposite issue with no work for their kids at all. Happy to be home as my mom’s diet is carb heavy. I bought some fruits and veggies and left them with her. So Toronto and a couple of suburbs remain in Phase 1 lockdown, and every other area of our province is now moving in Phase 2. Torontonians are disappointed again, but I kind of expected it as they need to be extra cautious about opening a big city. With the 10 person bubble rule, we are good and kind of used to things otherwise. Ok, I have groceries coming so have to run.
@gingerpwr - I absolutely love that list and website! Honestly, I have said “are you wearing pants?” to at least one of my kids everyday during lockdown!3 -

Lisa, Today it's official. I'm getting my news from you before I go on the CBC website. I guess I was really happy about the bubble of 10. Now it's only me and my daughter who will be in phase 1. All our other relatives are in the regions moving to phase 2 on Friday.3 -
Hello and happy Monday team. I was eating way off my normal last weekend while I visited my son in Chicago. So I’m driving home yesterday (about a 4-1/2 hour drive) trying to decide if I’m going to eat a good healthy dinner or continue on my vacation eating! Why am I an all or nothing person!? Honestly!!! I did stop along the way and bought a bag of nuts! Some of you might remember that I have a “nut” problem because I can’t control my portions. No matter what size container it comes it - I will finish it in one sitting! So it felt kind of exciting to be eating a bag of nuts! It was like my last hurrah from the weekend and when I got home I ate a good dinner and today I’m right back to where I was before the weekend. I never know if I get off track if I will be able to pull it back in. This time I did but it’s really very unpredictable. I had such a nice weekend with my son and little Sunny. Maybe that had something to do with it.
Everyone have a great Monday!7 -
Daily check in Monday
Food good- Molly made roast cauliflower, Brussels and broccoli for dinner. It was so good but I had to add some leftovers of hummus, tabouli and tzakziki sauce. I wanted to keep eating more but I stopped. Sunday I made jam thumbprints with homemade strawberry rhubarb jam. I like to make small cookies. I usually eat 2 for lunch but snuck a 3rd tiny one. Can’t believe tomorrow is weigh in day again. Planning to go very light today.
Water-good
Exercise-20 min walk
Yoga 30
Rowing 5
Sleep 9 1/2
Another good day. But when 7:30pm rolls around I’m out of steam and ready for bed. We get to have Skylynn for 2 days. We are reading Anna of green gables. She enjoyed cuddling Honey bear and curling up in bed with me for story time. We have been reading stories together for all of her 10 years. We always have a book going.
I’m moving slow today. I have a chiropractor visit tomorrow and quarterly acupuncture. My back is out a bit from all the cooking and carrying one bad of mulch. Molly carried the other 14. Geez.
I will post pictures of my level 10 for you @podperson1
Have a good day everyone!3 -

The one photo shows my 2020 January stats. Underneath shows where I was in 2019.
The photo with pineapple shows my new numbers on the left with the January numbers on the right.
I include affirmations for each category. The page next to the pineapple shows examples of my action steps for each category that would take me to a 10.3 -
Check in for past couple of days
Food-could be better
water-not bad but could be better
Exercise-got at least a 30 min walk in each day, usually more
Last day at shore, I am bummed I can't Kayak or ride my bike because of the weather but it is nice to be down here. I need to plan my escape back down here for the rest of the summer lol! Jim is doing well but I still don't want to leave him for too long. I am just going to take one week at a time. I have to run, we are leaving for a walk soon. I will be back in Pennsylvania tonight. Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!
@podperson01 Nice loss! You certainly have some valid reasons why you wouldn't want to return to work yet. I hope your employer works things out with you.
@1theresamcvean You know, that is another reason I really need to start cooking. You can control the ingredients and make things healthier. I guess I knew that but sometimes I need a little klunk on the head for it to sink in.
@lennoncpa I was so happy to see Sunny! Happy Birthday to the little guy! Your son is so handsome btw. I didn't want to give Sunny all the attention but I am sure that your son is used to that by now Lol! I am happy you had a safe weekend and you got right back on track when you got home. Hopefully the nuts are gone, I know you are a little nutty around those nuts Lol!
@Cafeleia Lol! I love how your son knows he has it good at Grandmas! I am sure she is loving pampering him as much as he loves being pampered! Beautiful pic too! Looking good! Healthy and happy too!
@nstephenson01 Do you know I never had Thai food? I wouldn't even know what to order. I never had Indian food either...one of these days...I am amazed at the hikes you get in. This is your time of year to be out I guess. Getting into the 160s! I am doing the happy dance with you! You always do so well with your steps and hikes. I am sure that helps balance out the food choices a bit too. You cracked me up with your bacon bonanza! Lol! Hope your mood improves as the day goes on. I have had both cranky days and bacon bonanzas so I can relate Lol!
@kirsten11872 Nice loss! It seems like you are in a good routine now! Hopefully things settle down a bit for you once school is over.
@timibotkin Hooray on your results of the lung scan and getting the port out!! Not a bad week for you, lung scan went well, port out, and weight down. That is one thing I don't like about the apple watch, the same thing happens to me when I am shopping and pushing a cart. My fitbit I clipped on my bra would count my steps no matter what I was doing. Seems like if I am carrying or pushing something with my left hand, the steps don't count. Hope you have another good week this week too. Your garden is amazing! I know it is a lot of work but hopefully that is work you love to do.
@mrsbell8well I love the idea of a summer scavenger hunt! How creative you are! Your menu sounds yummy and the tart looked delicous!
@tryingagain5 Great job with the exercise and water. Sounds like you have a plan and are prepping for the eating. You really are doing great. Remember to give yourself a pat on the back.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx So do you have to taper off the Topamax before you can start the new migraine medication? Hang in there girl, sounds like you may have a rough ride ahead but I am praying it will work for you. It is amazing how you manage with all that you have going on. Sending hugs!
@melaniescott Gardening is a workout in itself! Sounds like you have been doing awesome! I was just saying in another comment how I never had Indian food. Lol! I am afraid it would be too spicy for me. Hope you have another good week this week.
@bburrer30 Awesome goals for the week! Sounds like you had a successful week this past week too! Look at those steps! I love how you ended online schooling with a field trip. The end of the school year the teachers always seemed to have fun things planned so I feel like your children got that even without being at school! Beautiful picture too!
@JillyBT Sounds like you are getting back on track! Hope your parents are settled and your son is feeling better. Hugs!
@annliz23 That isn't a bad weigh in. Maintaining is better than gaining. Hope all is going well. Awesome steps this week too!
@ljdanny Remember you are still getting back into the groove with getting back to work so give yourself a little break. You will get back into a routine. Just make little changes and you will be back where you were in no time. I hope the crocks help with your feet. I had plantar fascitis twice a few years back and I stopped wearing anything shoe that wasn't supportive. So far it hasn't returned. I wear vionic flip flops. They are cute but expensive. I looked for sales and bought a bunch in different colors so I don't have to replace them every year. My oldest is about 3 or 4 years old and black so I wear them a lot. I am going to get a new black pair because I am tired of them Lol! Otherwise they could go longer too.
@GingerPwr I love when your southern accent comes through when you write! I also love your well thought out plans for the day! You are inspiring! Your Monday motivation was great especially "are you wearing pants" lol!
@twyla77 Look at that loss! That whole 30 is working for you! Look how you have turned things around since you started back! Impressive! I am glad you are also getting some free lance work to do. Crazy times...
@Cassiegetsfit2013 Ugh! I know how frustrating that gain is. It could be a number of things. Weight doesn't always reflect how well you have been doing. Don't let it derail you. You should see a drop next week. Hugs!
@jedaschultz I am just dancing around 200 too. We need to take the plunge girl! Hope all is well!

Food - On target
Water - 1.8 l
Exercise - Rest day, 7759 steps
Yesterday was a good day and I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for homeschooling! 8 days left including today! I’ve put together a plan for some strength training and HIIT work this week, in addition to walking workouts. I need to gain a little more confidence before I run again. Today, I have to do some food prep for the rest of the week, as I was away this past weekend. I am sorry that I am not responding to everyone’s posts and I will try to do that later this week.
@sleepymom5 - I am so happy that you are at the shore! I don’t blame you for not wanting to leave Jim for long right now. You have the entire summer in front of you and I am sure that you will be able to do all of your fun shore activities soon!
@1theresamcvean - Toronto is getting close! I just read in the Star that the new case reproduction rate is .8%, which means a decline. But, public health doctors want to push that number lower as it is right at the threshold of acceptable. Toronto and Peel region (also still in Phase 1) are side by side and have a total population of around 5 million people, with complex mass transit systems. So the doctors want to get us into a “safer” zone before we move to the next step of reopening. I know that we are all longing to sit on a restaurant patio and go to the salon, beach etc. But we also want to do this lock down only once, and keep people like your daughter and my mom safe. We will get there!

Happy Tuesday to everyone!
@nstephenson01 Bacon is definitely a weakness of mine as well. Glad you got to indulge a little!
@Cafelelia I'm in the same boat with my mom - nothing but carbs, fried food, and baked goods when I go see her. And I think she could serve her sweet tea to hummingbirds. If I'm able to visit her this summer, I'm going to have to do my own grocery shopping! Glad you stocked some of your own healthy stuff there for your return!
@lennoncpa I did the all or nothing thing for a long time and would get so disappointed in myself. Could your daily diet maybe be too restrictive? I've found that if I work in some small indulgences for myself a few times a week, then I don't go so far overboard in social situations.
@Mrsbell8well those roasted veggies sound wonderful! Tonight we're doing dinner salad, but tomorrow I'm roasting Brussels sprouts with pork chops.
Yesterday was good - stayed on track with food and got in a 3 mile walk. AND I finished the bathing suit cover up I was crocheting. Now to finally finish Isaac's Army blanket.
Got a long list of stuff to do today, so I better get on it.5 -
@sleepymom5 If you decide to take the plunge into thai or indian, here are some suggestions:
Thai: almost everyone likes phad thai (noodles, egg, green onion, sauce, peanuts, protien, very mild), drunken noodles, or massaman curry...maybe panang curry. Curry doen't mean curry powder in most cuisines...It means a combination of spices. There are usually some decent salads, too. Red curry and even green curry can have some bite.
Indian: Chicken tikka masala. Everyone likes tikka masala. Chicken Mango, Rogan Josh are yum, too, (lamb). For veg options, veggie korma (9 veg, homemade cheese, cashews with a creamy tomato 'gravy', aloo ghobi (caulifliwer and potato). Both are mild and tasty. I also like bhindi masala (okra, peppers and onions, can be a little spicy) or Dahl Makhini (sort of Indian chili--lentils and beans). If you don't tolerate heat well, avoid anything called Vindaloo. I love it but I like heat.5 -

Must admit a little disappointed as I did see 181.7 on the scale at the weekend. But, TOTM is imminent so I reckon it has been heading back up because of that. These littler losses do add up, so I shall try not to be too disheartened! Overall I have eaten on plan and continued my exercise routine (6 days of workouts a week covering cardio, strength, flexibility and HIIT). Today is HIIT (so, so hard - I do what I can....)
I come to this group multiple times a day to read the posts, not sure why I do not make posts myself, but this week I am going to commit to daily check ins - I fear some bad habits may be starting to creep back in and daily accountability may be needed!
@1theresamcvean love your garden! Especially love you terrace - bet that is a lovely place to sit and enjoy some peace. And congrats on the BestBody feature - a great achievement! And the photo is fab!
@pacsnc6 so pleased lab results have been good, and sending you love and positivity for upcoming CT scan. Sounds like your veg are further on than mine! I don't think I'll be picking any tomatoes until second week of July, and only one pepper flower at the moment.
@Mrsbell8well The discipline you have to be able to do those cleanses is amazing - and such fantastic results! Well done for pulling it all back!
@sleepymom5 glad you got some time away, even if the weather was disappointing.
@Cafelelia yay to school coming to an end! We still have about 5 weeks left, and it looks like our government have given up on getting my son's year back this term.5 -

Today I am well under 115kg and I started at over 125 back in Feb, and my brain has just gone "right, goal weight range isn't that hard to get to." I've been getting a bit frustrated that my weight loss is slower than the last time I was seriously focussed on losing weight, and it can take me 3 weeks to lose a kg, but it *is* adding up. And this time around I am making an effort to net at least 1200 calories every day, I'm not stressing about the days that I go over my goal, and I'm not restricting anything in particular, unless it's a migraine trigger. I'm also not obsessively exercising. It's just suddenly I know that I'm under 115kg, it won't be that long until I'm back under 100, and then I'd like to get to 85ish and see how I feel.
I'm still kind of annoyed at myself that I gained so much weight back - I had to be brutally honest with myself recently and admit that I lost 74kg, but then I gained 50kg back. That's more than the "gained half back" I'd been admitting to in my head, but life happens. I've done a lot of recovery for my ED since then, and it's only weight. I can and am losing it again.
@sleepymom5 I am slowly reducing my dose of Topamax and increasing my dose of Amitriptyline, hoping to find a balance that I can tolerate. I'm already less tired and and think clearer, but I have had some eye and face pain since reducing my dose of Topamax. It really does control migraine/nerve pain well, it's just the dreadful side effects.
@Mrsbell8well Roasted veges are one of my favourite meals, but hubby has threatened divorce if I feed him roast broccoli one more time! Apparently I have "rabbit-like tendencies" and my ability to eat vegetables exhausts him lol. I guess that means more for me! I love your journals too.

Daily check in
Tuesday
Food-fruit all day and 1/2 avocado
Water-pretty good
Yoga 20
Walk 20
Sleep 7 1/2
I was hoping to be 148 even but I have till Saturday to lose .4 to stay on track for my goal. This losing weight is not easy.
@Freeglerock your right any loss is good news. And daily check ins do help with accountability. Keep doing what your doing. The weight will come off. A cleanse does take discipline but once you start it gets easier. The mindset kicks in and you do what you need to do.
@melaniedscott your making me drool! Love your suggestions.
@gingerpwr roasted Brussels are a family favorite. I would love to see a picture of your bathing suit cover up.
@sleepymom5 it’s so encouraging to hear how well Jim is doing. Sounds like your finding your summer groove.
@pacsnc6 praying for best results and your quick recovery.
I love all the gardening pictures!
I have an appointment today with chiropractor for adjustment and seasonal acupuncture.
Doing CSA pick up after work and light grocery shopping. Making dinner for a new mama on Friday. Yellow curry summer squash soup and I think I will make a blueberry tart as well.
Have a good day everyone!5 -

Tuesday Check In
Food - on target
Water - 2l
Exercise - 5 km walk, 35 min HIIT, 14,832 steps
Yesterday was really good. School for the kids still took up a lot of time, but I did get my exercise and food prep done. We had a trip to Europe planned for the beginning of July and I had to deal with all of the cancellations. Many countries are opening for tourism in July, but most departing flights here in Toronto are cancelled to the end of the month. It was a huge headache to deal with, but it is done except for one return flight.
@freeglerock, @mrsbell8well, @melaniedscott - Those smaller losses add up, trust me! You are doing great!!
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx - Congratulations! You have been steadily losing and doing it in a really healthy manner! Maintenance is not easy and it is hard to admit gaining weight back. But the choice is to stay as is/gain more, or try again. I have done the lose/gain loop for a while and it is easy to be hard on ourselves or ashamed about it. But we need to do the opposite and be kind and understanding to ourselves and our circumstance. Big hugs!3 -
Tuesday check in
Food - Not the best choices
Water - 56 oz
Exercise - over 60 min walk, PT, stretching, strength
Not the best choices yesterday because I need to get shopping again. I have a plan for today so I am good. I can't believe it is Wednesday already! I have to run, Daisy has a grooming appointment this am. Hope everyone has a great day!
@Cafelelia Whoo hoo! I am so glad you are in the home stretch with the home schooling!
@GingerPwr It is so cool that you can actually crochet a coverup! I never can find one I like. Sounds like you really are in a good routine and have really made life style changes. You seem to take everything in stride.
@melaniedscott Nice loss! Thank you for the tips for ordering Thai and Indian. I took a screen shot and saved it on my phone. Maybe I will give them a try!
@Freeglerock You are right. Not only do small losses add up but I am sure that your TOM has something to do with it too. You really have been doing great so just keep it going. We would love to see you check in more. Even if it is a quick post.
@xX_PhoenixRising_Xx What is that saying? Don't look back, you're not going that way...something like that. It is easy to beat ourselves up. Remember, you put a stop to it. You are losing now and you are going to get there. You also have a ton of physical reasons that make weight loss even more difficult for you. You really are doing awesome! Be proud of how far you have come!
@Mrsbell8well Nice loss! You are doing great!
@brown6267 Nice stepping!4 -
Hi all,
@nstephenson01 - eek, that weather sounds nasty, hope you weren't blown away on your walk! I've been feeling that way this week too, maybe it's too much quarantine catching up
@Mrsbell8well - thank you sharing your journals (and they're so pretty and colourful!), think I will def give that a try.
@Freeglerock - the little losses totally add up! Plus if it's TOTM related you might see a higher drop next week. I also only just realised that in addition to being fellow Brits we're also really close in weight - virtual twinsies?
So, am not back at work yet. They didn't bother coming back to me so I didn't bother going in I'm still working from home and they have been emailing me all week so I shall assume that means they're ok with this lol. I would say I'm surprised but it's fairly typical for the management organisation for the company. We're expecting a government announcement tomorrow though and it's looking like we're going to be moving to the next 'phase' so probably have to look at going back in the next few weeks at least. Going to try and make the most of being home while I can and get some outstanding cleaning tasks done.
Food has been pretty good, treated myself to some 'chippy chips' on Monday but apart from that have stuck to healthy choices. Still not doing much exercise so need to get my butt in gear!5 -
@podperson1 Way to take a stand! I like your style. I was thinking about you yesterday when I spoke to a woman in the neighbourhood who I was two meters behind in a lineup at a vegetable market who was complaining about waiting in line. She said she will not eat take out from a restaurant but takes the subway. She said it would be like eating at a buffet. I'm the opposite. I don't want to take the subway or other provincial transit for a very long time. I feel like convertibles should see an uptick in sales.2

Monday check in
Food: 14:10 IF. Had a good talking to myself while on my hike about getting my act together so it was a better day food wise
Water: Good
Steps & Exercise:17,766 steps; 3.5 mile hike with the dogs
I played a little game with myself Monday morning... I was hungry but still had 45 minutes left on my fast. A corner of the garden has been taken over by weeds but I kept procrastinating. I I told myself to get busy and pull all the weeds in 45 minutes. It took me an hour but it finally got done. Yes, I guess I rewarded myself with food which I know I shouldn't do but it was my planned breakfast of a banana and greek yogurt with granola and berries, not a cheat meal and now the weeds are gone! Lame, huh? The things we do to ourselves.
Tuesday check in
Food: 16:8 IF. Pre-logged and ate on plan
Water: OK
Steps & Exercise: 15,948 steps; 1 hour walk around the neighborhood. I kept thinking it would start raining and didn't want to venture too far from the house so just meandered down various roads. It was rather relaxing. Oh and my neighbor told me she had seen a bear where I had hiked on Monday so I was being a bit of a wimp by staying on the main roads. I wasn't in the mood for bear encounters. Hope to hike tomorrow when this rain blows out of here. I'll feel more courageous tomorrow
@melaniedscott Great food suggestions!! We're big fans of spicy food also. @sleepymom5 I always recommend, when trying a new food, going with someone who is familiar with the cuisine. The only way I ever managed to try sushi was with a good friend who knew my tastes. Now I love sushi! It less scary that way LOL5 -

Nancy, I think the weeding work and then breakfast was a great strategy. Not lame at all.2 -

Hi all!
This day has CERTAINLY sucked!! 😥 I woke up in a depressed state, so I skipped my TMS treatment. The sweet technician, Danielle messaged me to see why I didn't come in and asked if I was okay. I had a crappy weigh in on Sunday and NOW TOM just hit me today...🙄 I under ate yesterday, my back has been killing me, ws well as my knees and hips. I thought it was period related, and some of it might be, but now I feel as if it also has to do with my sciatic nerve because it definitely feels like that nerve pinching and pulling in my lower back, butt, hips and down into my legs. Ugh! 😫 I had bought a heating pad a month ago and never used it til the other day...Well, I put it on high and laid on it and ended up giving myself, "sunburn", lol. Then I read that you aren't supposed to lay on it...Then HOW else do you get it to work good on your back?? Haven't been able to get out in the garden because it's been raining for the past THREE days! There are floods all over town, lots of closed streets and the garden/yard is definitely flooded. There's at least 6-8" of standing water in the garden and other parts of the backyard. The plants are okay though because this year they are in raised beds. They're getting pretty wild though so I really hope the raib let's up soon so I can get out there and get some things done! Mom said it's supposed to be in the 80's on Friday and then 90 on Saturday and Sunday so we'll see! Also, there is a cute little froggy that has been living in the garden for the past 2 months now and sometimes he likes to get into our unfilled above ground pool and swim in the rain water then he climbs out, using his sticky little toes! 🐸 Hmmm, what else...Well, I have an appointment with my Dr. To go over a few things thats been going on with me lately. Hopefully we are able to solve some things! I see her on the 24th and I see my Psychiatrist on the 22nd. I really feel like skipping that Psych appointment though! I'm not sure how much the TMS treatments have really been helping...I think going into it, I had hope for like all these interests to come flooding back to me, but in reality, I think all it's done so far is maybe given me a little more drive, on some days...Like I have been pushing a bit more or forcing myself to move around more. Then again some days are still bad and I don't hardly move, so I don't know...🤷♀️🙃5 -

Food-felt like I ate too much but on reflection it was almost all very nourishing except maybe the chocolate salted caramel oat milk ice cream after dinner.
@gingerpwr I had bought edamame noodles but not tried them till you mentioned them. I made too much. Last night I used the leftovers. Added marinated sprouted tofu, green onion, carrot, sesame oil, tamari sauce, sesame seeds and a sprinkle of chili crunch oil. I was going for a quickie cold sesame noodle salad. It was delicious!
Water probably 60 oz.

Sleep-8 hours
Had my chiro/acupuncture session yesterday. Left me dragging the rest of the day. Thought I was going to skip dinner but really wanted to eat. Did grocery shopping after work. Making yellow summer squash curry soup and a blueberry tart for a new mom.
Update on transfer. Have not heard anything further. Using this time to finish up all projects at home and work.
Glad to have this extra time to be productive and to relax.
Have a good day everyone!3 -

Check in: Weds 17th
Food: logged and under
Water: ok
Exercise: 30min HIIT cardio, 30min dance
Yesterday food and exercise were all to plan, except the dance which I added on as my steps for the day were less than 5k. Working from home really does result in a lot of not moving! Dinner was a cheese Soufflè, so most of the rest of the day was just fruit and veg to accommodate its high calories.
Lots of rain here at the moment, and a couple of thunderstorms in the last 2 days. Very good for the allotment, things really do benefit from rainwater rather than from the tap, but would like it to let up a little bit so I can take kids for a walk (they refuse to walk in the rain at the moment because of the intermittent storms and fear of lightening (their Dad was struck by lightening a few years back - he was ok, just a bit shocked!)).
