"This makes sense @AnnofB because I have WATP Ultimate Collection and it sounds like it is just a repackaged version of your WATP Express because she calls all the walks Express and there is 1, 2, 3 miles as well as the 4 Mile Super Challenge. I honestly do not know where I got the WATP Weight Loss Series: Walk Strong, but I suspect it was from the original Collage Video website as I ordered a lot of obscure videos from them before they went out of business. The new version of that website does not feature Leslie as strongly. Interesting how she keeps repackaging the same walks with different titles."

I used to order from Collage Video too. In fact that's who I ordered Leslie's Basic Stepping and Walk Aerobics video all those many years ago. My very first aerobic workout purchase. I think it was in the late 80's, maybe early 90's. Just found it for sale on Amazon. A video version for a mere $49.99!

I was wiped out this week at work and did not hit my work goal of 7500 steps a day after the first few days. I tried to login here on myfitnesspal and the boards were down here and there on my phone app so that further compounded me getting behind. By yesterday I was so tired and got home at half day, sun was shining, but I could not drag myself outside or up off the couch to even walk indoors. So I let myself have the day.

This morning I still didnt feel active but I downloaded a new audiobook and encouraged myself outdoors for a very long walk of 2 hours! Getting started can be the hardest part. Next week of work I hope to try something different (maybe active every hour I'm there even if its just 2-3 minutes, longer when possible). Doing even a mile before work didnt happen either :( Too tired needed sleep.

Hopeful this week off I'll get lots of miles in even with the upcoming rain in days ahead!

    Wow, 18,504 steps! Fantastic!

A pal of mine noticed on Facebook that MFP posted that after routine maintenance on June 5th all sorts of problems started and they are still trying to correct them. Funny they haven't put up some sort of notice right here on MFP.

@zichab - Celebrate meeting your mileage goal. You have had a crazy schedule and still got that done. Be proud, Girl!

Oh Ann, it is crazy and I suspect it is going to get crazier! Between the 2 more classes for the second half, moving, cleaning out stuff and getting a house ready to sell it is hard finding workout time. However, I was gaining weight and that is not acceptable after working so hard to get it off, so I am prioritizing my workouts to keep that in check! As much as I hate strength workouts, they get weight off me very quickly so I am back at them.

At this point, I am with you. I would never spend $50 USD on any Leslie videos. How much different can they be in all honesty. Once you have a good collection of her workouts, you pretty much have everything she does and the rest are just repackaged. I wish she would do more strength only videos with weights, but she seems to prefer those stretchy bands instead. However, I would not pay $50 USD for a weight workout either unless it came with all the weights!!

I cannot believe June is almost over! Where did this month go!!!

    Walk Strong Everyone!

Yesterday I pushed through and did Jessica Smith's Strength Interval Walk. A good sweat and my body reminded me that I had done a lower body workout the day before and was not enjoying the squats and knees of this round. ;)

Within a few hours of that, we lost power for 5hours from a storm system that went through. Today I'm taking a rest day.

That storm system was awful! We did not lose power, but our neighbor lost a HUGE maple tree. We heard it crack and then boom it fell into the street, across the road and into the neighbor's yard across the street! Everyone was lucky it did not hit either house as the destruction from a tree that large would have been massive. That was an epic Midwest storm that is for sure!! Great for a rest day though!

I did some serious cleaning this weekend at home, replenished the groceries, and got 10k steps yesterday and 15k today including a dedicated 5.5 miles in the early sun! Finished my most recent audiobook and looking forward to starting a new one (early) for July on the next few walks.

    Happy walking everyone!

Had a bit of a fail over the weekend and didn't manage to do any workouts BUT did do a walk on the hottest day of the year in the UK, 30 degrees celsius.
I have given myself a kick up the backside and have signed myself up for a half a million steps over the next 3 months for Diabetes UK, hoping it's going to hep keep me on track!
Oh and I also managed to lose a pound last week so things are definitely working.

June 8: 25 minute walk at dinner time
June 9: 25 minute walk at dinner time
June 10: 25 minute walk at dinner time
June 11: 30 minute boosted walking
    June 12: walk and tone
June 13: boosted walk plus some Yoga to lose weight with Adrienne
June 14: rest day but rode 3.8 miles on my horse

    June 15: 20 minute walk
    June 16: 2 mile sweat
June 17: 3.2 miles riding my horse and roughly 1 mile whilst clay pigeon shooting so gave Leslie's workouts a rest!
June 18: raining so no lunchtime walk :(
June 19: 25 minute walk at dinner time
June 20: 3.55 miles riding my horse to the beach and back....good for the soul <3
June 21: didn't do any exercise BUT did sort my wardrobes out so spring stuff away and summer stuff out, which was a work out in itself.

June 22: 25 minute walk at dinner time
June 23: 25 minute walk at dinner time
June 24: 25 minute walk at dinner time
June 25: Fast walking in 30 minutes
June 26: I Walk Strong 3 mile Walk
June 27 & 28: Nothing, not even a horse ride as the weather has been very stormy here over the weekend with really gusty winds.

Onwards and forwards, here's to a better week this week!

Kudo's to you on being a pound down. You are doing great. Had to translate that Celsius to Fahrenheit (I'm in the US) Translates to 86 F... hot enough to make a walk outside no fun.

    [/quote]

I have been reading mystery type books lately- East of Eden by Bohjalian and then Patton Oswalt's wife's book about the Golden State Killer ("I'll be gone in the dark"). I can honestly say more than once I GOT STARTLED AND JUMPED while walking to that because a biker or runner came up behind me and I was so engrossed I didn't hear them or notice what was going on, or a few times little bunnies jumped out in front of me, and the startle was REAL Y'all! I'm sure that pumped my heart rate 20 or 30 beats for maximum burn for a few minutes AFTER!

I just borrowed Kristin Hannah's Nightingale (I've read it but never listened to it) because I'm thinking of borrowing a few of her audiobooks but wanted to see if they engage me during walks (the way they do in hardcover!). The mysteries get me up and moving for hours at a time because I don't want to stop listening.

    What do you usually read?

This morning I skipped my audiobook because it was raining and I did 5k with a twist with Leslie and then a couple fast miles from Miracle Miles! I was just in a mood to keep going (after 70 minutes of some sweaty walking) so I pulled out my old friend Richard Simmons for some gentle sweat. Does anyone (or did anyone!) get a similar boost from working out to him years ago? I still love the sweatin with the oldies type series (even though I get totally behind on the aerobic portion from time to time and can't keep up with the switches in moves because I have 0 coordination) but if I can't do the moves I take a cue from Leslie and just dance with whatever foot I've got moving and swing my arms in a way that keeps my heart pumping (even if Richard is 3 dance moves ahead by then).

Worked out 2 hrs and 14k steps
