Paula I guess I can't count it then. :# I thought those things were jokes when I saw them. I want a pill to take that adds strength and tone without any ill side effects!

Karen I hope all is going well. Nice exercise.

It is 1021 here and I have over 7000 steps already. Such a boring work day.

Got a 30 min walk in this morning (Humid!) and then did a 25 min weight routine with Jim and my Mom. Fun to see Mom getting into it!

Bella comes home from camp in 10 days....where did 5 weeks go?

    Chris,

I'm not adjusting to retirement the way you did. Getting up later and later each morning. Today I had to set an alarm to meet someone at 9am*; then came home and went back to sleep!

    Much refreshed now.

Still can't walk, knee is (mate?) healing. It varies each day. Plan to work in the studio building shelves today. Should be a good workout.

    Paula

*A pinecone landed on my car last week. This morning's appointment was to replace the windshield which cracked all the way across and was only being held together with tape at this point. I am inspired to set up shelves in studio, so I can empty garage, and park inside again.

They did such an amazing job, including cleaning the windshield immaculately. So now it needs to be protected before pine needles fill all the crevices again.

    Wednesday

    Walk - 42 minutes - 2.1 miles

The painters came to do their prep work so I had to do a little shorter walk. Will be back at it on Thursday morning. Keep it up ladies!

    Great jobs everyone!

Kathy looking forward to seeing how the paint comes out.

Paula I am wondering the same thing as Karen. Do you have a picture of that killer pinecone? I would sleep in myself if I was retired. Chris has a grandson to care for. She is still semi working. LOL

Got in a 45 minute walk yesterday and 15 minutes of upper body.

Karen & Shelley, It was a solid green pinecone that hadn't opened up yet or dried out. The compactness and water weight made it pretty heavy. And it probably fell from a pretty high place in a very tall tree.

Think of a baseball hurled by a professional pitcher named Gravity directly at a player called "Windshield". Cracked his noggin.

Oh my Paula. I know just the kind you speak of. Nasty things hurt when they fall prematurely! Glad it did not land on you as you took off for an early morning stroll. Gravity is so evil at times!

Paula...we haven't had Ronan and Bean since the March lock down, so our sleeping schedule really changed from getting up in the dark to walk, to sleeping until 10:00 in the morning. Plus my hip surgery was March 10th so no walking for a while.

And that was a killer pine cone!!

Worked out w/Pete this morning for an hour...EGADS!! I was glistening for sure! My 10:00 with him changes next week to 7:30-8:30 because we will start to have R&B every day again. Sara goes back to work and Pete is taking classes to become a Physical Therapist, so we'll have the boys until noonish.

We will start walking again tomorrow morning. I'll let you know how that goes. I'm excited!

No Ronan and Bean?? My heart breaks for you, Chris. So we're twinning again, right? LOL! You and me. And Karen and me, too. She and I have been trending together on MFP - she was my first friend (Hi, Karen!).

Paula, we'll twin until Tuesday then...back to the boys in the morning. Ronan is so smart. Sara has been working w/him on his preschool instruction, and he just flies through his assignments wanting more and more work to do.

We got 2.11 miles done in 42 mins. Happy!Happy!Happy! :D

    Chris,
What happens on Tuesday? Do you stop quarantining from the boys?

Yes, we quit quarantining from them when Newsom opened us up a bit a while back. They are the only ones we socialize with. So far, so good.

Sara goes back to work on Tuesday. She is a Vice Principal at two elementary schools. Some days she has to be on campus, some days everything is done on Zoom. Pete is taking classes to become a Physical Therapist. He has three classes that are done remotely. They need Grandpa and Grandma to help out their almost 4 year old.

We started walking again, and if everything works out with my foot/ankle, we'll be getting up at at 4:00 in the morning to get our walk in before we pick up R&B. We have a plan, but it needs testing. bwahahahah!

Chris I wish I had been a physical therapist. Wearing masks will protect him from the folks that smell bad. :# And you are Pete's first patient. How exciting. So glad you will be getting them again.

Paula it is really great to have you on here again. Are you done with the shelves?

I need to post a photo of how quickly the trumpet vine is growing. Thing is insane!

Hey Paula! Yes....we've been in this together for a while lol!

I didn't get any formal exercise in yesterday but I ran around all day so at least I got 10000 steps. We were hoping to go for a hike today but apparently mother nature decided it was going to rain instead. Let's see what she brings. Maybe we confide in a bike ride or something.

    Kathy that was inspirational!

Karen rain is worth a day off!

Got in 30 minutes on a treadmill. Spent quite a bit of time helping mom today.

Took a fast 25 minute walk between calls.

Our elliptical arrived so my husband will try to put it together. With the basement flood...will need to go in the living room...but so be it!

    HAPPY MONDAY!

Karen, Putting things together is a pretty good workout in of itself. Those ellipticals look so easy in videos; but then I tried one and lasted about a minute. At least it felt like a minute. It may have been less. Oooph.

Shelley, Yesterday we had a spectacular thunder/lightning (very little rain, the air was wetter than the ground was) that felt like it came out of nowhere; but actually was the tail end of a hurricane/storm that blew up here from the equatorial pacific ocean (something like that). It was AMaZing! Started at night and every time lightning struck, it was like god flipped the light switch and it turned into day (for a nanosecond) then went back to blackness. Cats were freaked.

Anyway, the reason I brought that up, was that it knocked out our electricity, wireless and TV, and I wasn't able to log on to track food, or see what friends were doing, or what advertisers wanted me to buy. It was such an odd feeling to truly be cut off from the world. I don't feel the Covid anonymity so much since I can get online. But yesterday I felt like one of those commercials where people are panicking because their WiFi's been out for ten seconds.

And my point is, the thing I missed most, was talking to you guys.

    <3 All of you!

Yes, we had some crazy thunder and lightning! I saw two beautiful strikes...looked just like the pictures in the books! Then I tried to get videos of them, and I got two that streaked straight across the sky, not down to the ground. Don't know where they were headed. :o We had rain, too. Strange...and, yes, AMaZing! We did not lose power...just one flicker. It didn't change or shut down anything. I dislike being left in the dark. Glad you got it back, Paula.

We walked this morning at 5:00. It was really warm. Never cooled down during the night. Got 2.11 miles in 45 mins. I'm glad we didn't just roll over and go back to sleep like we did yesterday. I have to get walking again. I was actually faster than DH this time. I think his hips are bothering him more than he says. Then I worked out w/Pete at 7:30 for 50 mins. Then we brought the boys back with us, and Ronan has been playing w/Grandpa non-stop. DDD said he was soooo happy when she told him that he was coming over every day while they work.
