    #4 has been tough.
    I’m having to go on FMLA starting school year. Kids school going fully remote for the first semester. I asked to work from home but they don’t allow... my choices are:
    1. 40hrs a wk between 6am-7pm during work week. Figure out what time works for me.
    2. Go PT and lose benefits.
    3. Take FMLA

    So even though I can manage to work from home and my direct bosses are okay with it, since the management doesn’t agree, I’m forced to take a leave.
    Just great.

    Slow week (lots of ups and downs), I think due to some high sodium days. Have been quite active this month, going to hopefully go on another long hike this weekend! I also am going to try to only weigh myself on Fridays to not be scale-obsessed. Currently in a somewhat smaller deficit as I somewhat upped my calories though, so I am preparing myself for slower results (0.5 lb/week or so). I can’t believe the month is halfway done! My goal before I leave for school during the first/second week of September is to reach 112 lbs and also get to 1500 calories with my reverse diet (my maintenance is 1600 without accounting for exercise).

    Also, gyms have opened on campus. Do you guys go to the gym? I haven’t gone since quarantine started in March. Should I just stick to using one machine instead of doing a full routine and using too many? If I go, it would be in the early mornings when there are usually fewer people in my experience (7-8:30 possible range).

    Height: 5'2.5
    August 4th: 115.9
    August 6th: 115.4
    August 7th: 114.8
    August 14th: 114.5
    Goal Maintenance Range: 110-112 lbs

    5ft 3 and scale weight is 148.3lbs (rolling average 149lbs). With the gyms being closed I think my current calories are actually around maintenance but I think I will stick here for a while as I'm trying to build good habits and that's harder to do when I'm hungry.

    I am 5’1 and 144lbs. I used to think that to be below 120, like I was when I was in college. I try not to concentrate as much on the number, even though I am at fault for getting on that scale. Ultimately I want to be able to wear my size 3 jeans. I bought those when I was under 130. So that is my new scale goal.

    My goal for August is to Exercise 30 mins a day for at least 90% of the month. I have already missed 4 days so I have to do every single day from now on to reach that goal.

    My goals this month:

    1. Get off the sugar. I didn't do a bloodtest for a long time, but I recognise the signs - being more parched than normal and getting dizzy if I don't eat regularly. @l4a_p : let's do this !
    2. Current weight: 73.0 - goal weight by the end of the month: 71.0 - Which is EXACTLY the same as last months. Boy, how did I get so good at maintaning suddenly???
    3. Get my yearly steps back to goal, which means around 80K to 100K a week

    03/08: 73.0
    04/08: 73.1 - I did resist the sugar temptation
    05/08: 73.0
    06/08: 72.7 - yeah baby :smiley:

    *** hit by a major heatwave causing a brainfry ***

    17/08: 73.0

    Ow boy, the last two weeks were HOT !!! The combo WFH with no airco, heatwave and frozen shoulder resulted in a pure survival mode. Last week was also extremely busy at work with the figures of 2021 that needed to be finalized. We couldn't walk as we just couldn't go outside, we couldn't sleep because all the rooms were just an oven. And we also couldn't go diving because we are still in lockdown.
    I swear I start to feel a bit of cabin fever.

    But anyway, enough whining. The good part is that now temperatures start to drop slowly and that my weight basically stayed the same. I think I will refer to the whole Covid period as my 73 kg weight maintenance exercise.

    @l4a_p : I'm really sorry to hear about your friend moving out and the BF breaking up, that sucks. Take care of yourself girl.

    I start FMLA on Monday. I’ve had a rollercoaster of emotions but looking to get back on track! I start distance learning with my kids on Monday. Which was very stressful in the spring but I’m hoping it’s better this time around. I’m ready to take walks with my kids and spend lots of quality time together

    My first time in this community Hello to everyone :) - I have been on and off myfitnesspal for a longtime always up and down on food not on working out.

    Working out since March has really been a no go with the closure of gyms.....

    This month I have been working on my food and trying other methods of exercising but I have to admit I am really missing the gym. I am getting there. Lisa <3

    What can I say: "Life got in the way"? I find this such a lame expression. We all have life and it comes with all kinds of troubles and issues. The problem is that I deal with it with food. Hearth warming and comfy food. I know I shouldn't, but I also felt that with everything else going on, I just couldn't focus. Didn't log for a few days, and I've lost my 500+ day streak.
    Also, I don't get any leeway by exercising: diving is still off limits, I can't do any strength exercises because of my frozen shoulder and the weather has gone from heatwave to fall storms, preventing walking.

    So here I am getting started again. I've pulled on my best jeans which are now uncomfortably tight hoping that will be a constant reminder that I need to do something.

    I’ve been MIA for weeks but I’m still in this! I got a really bad stomach bug after eating oysters. I took a break from working out and stayed in maintenance a bit longer. Plus I was working on the house renos and didn’t have the energy to get up early to workout.

    I hit a big milestone with our house renos over the weekend. Our new floors are installed and we finished painting most of the house. It was refreshing to deep clean the entire house of all the renovation dust. We still have a lot of work to do on the house. But the dirty parts is over! It's been months since we've been living in drywall dust.

    I’m ready to focus on me! I started with pampering myself with a at home facial scrub, taming my brows and a mani/pedi. Tomorrow I'll restart my workouts and runs. I feel like a new woman!

    August has not been kind on the scale for me (my own fault). I have committed to getting more active again, and am working my morning alarms back slowly (I am NOT naturally a morning person), and have been up early enough to be at the barn consistently the past week.

    Unfortunately, slight increase in activity and as usual, my body reacts by holding every ounce of water LOL - but I will take some baseline measurements again tomorrow so I can also track that way.

    What I really need to do is track my food, which I have not been doing with anything that resembles consistency :/

    I haven't weighed myself in 4ever!

    I start FMLA tomorrow.
    My kids started today and I am so anxious to find out if they are doing okay...
    I checked in with my girl if she made it in class and "met" her counselors etc. Sounds like she's on top of it but she still sounds nervous.
    I know I made the right choice to go FMLA and help support her IEP. It will be a change for me since I haven't stopped working for over 14yrs! (took a break when I had my son 14 yrs ago)
    But I have lots to do and it maybe a good time to look for other options anyway.

    Will keep up with workouts and now I will have more time to make good food at home!

    Family and Medical Leave Act
    The FMLA entitles eligible employees of covered employers to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave. Eligible employees are entitled to:

    Twelve workweeks of leave in a 12-month period for:
    the birth of a child and to care for the newborn child within one year of birth;
    the placement with the employee of a child for adoption or foster care and to care for the newly placed child within one year of placement;
    to care for the employee’s spouse, child, or parent who has a serious health condition;
    a serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform the essential functions of his or her job;
    any qualifying exigency arising out of the fact that the employee’s spouse, son, daughter, or parent is a covered military member on “covered active duty;” or
    Twenty-six workweeks of leave during a single 12-month period to care for a covered servicemember with a serious injury or illness if the eligible employee is the servicemember’s spouse, son, daughter, parent, or next of kin (military caregiver leave).
