In roll call last month, @cakeman21k said, "Another month down in my journey though life!". When I first read it, I was sure he was going to say "...journey of weight loss". And it got me thinking, how was my July re. weight loss. I found it helpful to look at the big picture, so I thought I'd look back again...
How were my numbers?
But it's not just about the numbers, how did my plan go?
What do I need to change/tweek in Sept.?
So how was your Aug?
My answers are below

How were my numbers? I'm down 7.2! I had no clue until I looked it up to answer this question! This amazes me because I had 17 days last month where the scale just bounced around and did not go down. I'm a true poster child for long range (goals? plans? I can't remember the word people used to use 🤷) or the big picture.
But it's not just about the numbers, how did my plan go? It went great! I checked most of my spiritual, activity, and diet boxes last month, and was always within my DPs allowed.
What do I need to change/tweek in Sept.? Not a thing! Just stay on track while on vacation in a few weeks!2 -
Well done, Lin.
I think the term you’re looking for is Long. Range. View.2 -
Here’s my July and August.
I am maintaining and satisfied with the Plan and my implementation.
I won’t be changing anything either. Daily weight checks and tracking are my friends.0 -

Yes! Thank you! That was really bugging me 😂
Daily weighing can drive you crazy or drive you forward OP! Definitely looks like it's working for you too! You're rocking maintenance! 🎉🎉🎉1 -
You’re welcome, Lin. It is one of my favorite “Goadisms”.
I happen to love Daily weighing since for me it’s merely one data point and on days where I gain for truly no apparent reason, it keeps me sane knowing eventually the scale will move. Weight is rarely static.1 -
@MASSRUNNER_FRANK I totally agree! I had a WW give me the whole speech about why I shouldn't daily weigh, but I'm exactly the same way. I need to know what's going on, even if it often makes no sense! Definitely saves my sanity too!
Also, when my weight finally dropped after my 17 day bounce w/o progress, all 3 leaders said "what did you do different?". I replied, "Absolutely nothing! There was no need. I was doing everything right!".3 -
@linmueller you are a Goadie indeed. A breath of fresh air to most of the online ramblings on weight loss from other WW Groups. I merely follow those for recipes but the weight loss myths and mixture with other methods would drive me crazy if I let it.
I learned years ago that GoaD is where I am going to get the most reliable information and quickly dispels the myths and nonsense.
Long. Range. View. Ahhhhhh.......2 -
Hey @linmueller & @MASSRUNNER_FRANK
Thought I'd chime in. You think I was in maintenance.
My #'s almost 0 for 62 days
7/1/20 = 303 * 7/31/20 = 299
8/1/20 300.4 * 8/31/20 = 302.4
So my goal has been 1 lb a week loss since at least last October 4th when I had gained back to 359.6 & that's been my last benchmark. Lots have happened through those last 48 weeks from my high. So I just did tge math and since my 10/4/19 high of 357.6 to 8/31/20 = 1.19 lbs a week.
So the object of this exercise is to bear down and concentrate on my getting back toward that average. Which basically means I need to lose 4 lbs for the month of September. Oh well just thought I'd chime in and Lin your doing great! Frank your holding maintenance like a champion wtg!.1 -
@imastar2 Derrick, thanks but so are you! Any series of holding pattern rather than gains is a win! You’ve been through so much health-wise so your own maintenance is nothing to dismiss as trivial.
Onward and downward, sir!1 -
Thanks for the encouragement @imastar2 !
That's a very respectable average you've got going. And 4#s in Sept sounds doable! You got this!
Yes @MASSRUNNER_FRANK , I too knew I'd found my people when I found GOAD. I have no patience for illogic, magical thinking, and excuses. 🙄3
