bwahahah... waiting for my peppermint to be delivered...
We got out flu shots yesterday...it was a drive-thru operation...but the trip there and waiting in line...moving the car forward then stopping...then getting home and hitting all the red lights...OH, MAN!!! Motion sickness and not peppermint!!! Ordered it the instant we got home. I'll be good with it...

Not enough walking or exercise. We are walking at 5:00 in the morning during the week but only for 40 some mins. Need to walk faster and longer. The weekends are a little better. The smoke is a problem too. ...sigh...
Chris0 -
My father in law passed away yesterday....what a day
So glad my husband could be down there in Florida to help, and to see him before he passed. Looking forward to getting back to my eating plan today. I did go out early this morning and had a nice chilly walk on this foggy Tuesday
Karen2 -
I'm so sorry, Karen. So sad. Sending everyone good thoughts.

Wish that were true Chris. I have been busy though. Getting ready for my new clam Rocky got me for my birthday. And winterizing the camper. Had to bring it down off the mountain. We had our birthday/end of the season barbecue on Saturday up there. Ate to much. Now I have to work it off. Work has been crazy. And I am SICK of all the smoke. I was hiding away from turning 60. Well it happened anyway!
Karen I am so sad to hear that. It really is horrible to lose a family member. Sending you hugs and also to your DH.
Paula and Kathy I so need you two to hang in here with me. We 3 seem to pop in and out. I do best when I am actually here more. So afraid to step on the scale this morning.
Chris and Karen I am so grateful that I can always count on you 2 to be here.
Please kick me someone! Going to go take a shower and play with my new clam. Who I had to buy new lighting for. Wish I could lose weight as quickly as I do money! Bwahahaha

That's right!! Your birthday was yesterday!!! I even have it on my calendar! I'm sorry I'm late with my Happy Birthday wishes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SHELLEY!! I hope you had a great day!!! And if the losing money thing worked, I'd be so skinny!!!!
I'm going back to my original trainer tomorrow. My SIL was great but not the same. He's been a rugby guy since he was a teen. He trains me like I'm a rugby guy...I am so grateful he helped me out the past couple of months. I was going crazy.
Shelley, this is your official fanny kick!! Get back to it my friend.
Now to get back into the swing of things. DH and I need to walk farther and faster, and I need my trainer to do what she does best, and I need to start eating right.
Chris1 -
Hey Karen, so sorry for you and your husband. Hope things get better.
Life's been a challenge for me lately too. I had a couple drinks last week, relaxed nicely, ate a bag of frozen wontons and gained 7 pounds. So here's to all of us who need it.

Karen so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers to you and the family. Take care,
Shelley I totally agree we all do better the more we are on here. Now that things are pretty much back to my new normal I’ll try to be more consistent. You ladies keep me motivated and I need all the help I can get. And belated Happy Birthday to you. Welcome to the 60s. I’ve been a part of this club since May 2019. I promise it’s okay.
Chris I agree I need to walk a little longer but most definitely faster. Gotta work on it but the feet are not cooperating. Time for a shoe change.
Paula hang in there. We will get through these challenging times. My goal this week is to once again control those cravings!
Kathy1 -
Hey gals.....
Thanks for your support. Got nice walk in and ate like reasonable human today;)
Karen1 -
Kathy I am honored to be a part of the 60's club. But only because I have friends like you with me. I missed yesterday, more on that below.
Paula what are those? They don't look like rabbits and anyways it is not Easter. I so need to watch more television I can see.
Chris I am going to get a trainer when I retire also. I see the differences in your mood when you go. That is worth every penny! And thanks, I so tried to ignore the Birthday things. Accept for the mountain party. I call it our end of season gathering. It was so fun.
Rocky ignored his doctor yesterday and did not go into the ER until I took him after work. I believe by his symptoms that he had a mild heart attack. He has an appointment tomorrow with his doctor. He is a typical bull headed male. Can't tell them anything. So that was where I was last night. He did get an EKG done. But then would not stay and left.
Shelley0 -
Shelley, I hope Rocky's okay!! What did the EKG say? Could you find out after he left ER?
I've been seeing my trainer for more than 7 years. Started a year before DDD and SIL got married. DDD and I worked out with her for a couple of years then it was only me. She let me up my workouts to 3 times a week an hour each session. I missed her so much since the March lock down. I'm happy now...She's going to help me with my eating, too. She realizes this is a tough time for me...Nick has been gone 10 years next Friday. Shoot, cried as I wrote that...cancer sucks. He would have been 31 next month. I guess I stress eat from October to the end of the year.
Sorry...
Chris

Hey Shelley,
Give Rocky a kick in the *kitten* for me, okay!!?? The nice things about mini-heart attacks and mini-strokes is that they are great warnings. My mini-stroke made a huge difference in my life style. But it took awhile for me to take it seriously. Needed to be scared into it. Hope Rocky is smarter than me.
Sending you my best wishes!
paula1 -
Chris I am happy you are with your trainer again. It sure makes a huge difference. I remember you talking about going with your daughter. While it is sad she no longer goes it is great that you still enjoy it so much. Ten years goes by so quickly as we get older. So many what ifs and what would he be doing now. Yes, cancer sucks.
..
Paula I don't recall your having a mini stroke. Boy does that explain some things.I sure hope he changes his eating habits. It would help me. Scared straight!
Rocky did go to the docs. EKG was not that bad. High blood pressure. New meds. Also he has a lot of acid. Was told no drinking alcohol, period. And that he was to large. Needs to have a stress test. Ultra sound looked ok. He had gurt. Not sure on the spelling. But guess it has went into the next step. Might need some surgery for that. I was not there so did not get all the information. Guess it is a waiting thing now.
We poured a strip of concrete early this morning. Little over a yard. Our son came and helped some. Barney and little Libby ran through it. Then the cat Sara. Trying to wash them and fix the concrete was work! They did not like getting hosed off! And at the end a rabbit came hopping up. He managed to stay clear of the concrete bath.
Night ladies.0 -
So today we are pouring 12 bags of 80 lbs. concrete. That will be it for this year I hope.
I bought a blue Crocia clam. It arrived yesterday and so far looks great. Fingers crossed for its continued success. It is about 1.5 inches long at this time. This type grows up to 6 inches in length. Should still fit into my tank. This is the smallest of the Giant clam. A Crocia.
Better get out and pour some mud. Muahahaha
Shelley0 -
Shelley,
Cement shoes are not good for tiny animals, be they silly kitties, feisty puppies, or smart little bunnies!
Nice to know it wasn't a stroke for Rocky, although you're right that getting really scared can save our lives sometimes by making us take it seriously and get our acts together. And I'll have you know my mini-stroke had NO residual effects, thank you very much, harrumph! :grumble:
My to-do list is shrinking, hopefully my waist will follow suit.
Best wishes all,
paula1 -
Shelley - wishes for good health for Rocky!
Paula - You are right about the good health part. I have few regrets in life, but not figuring out good health early is surely one of them
My fitbit is finally dyingI am waiting for the Fitbit Inspire 2 to come today. I prefer a clip one rather than a watch type...this is the only newer a one where I can so both. Hope I like it!
Karen1 -
Paula, I'm glad your mini-stroke had NO residual effects. I like you just the way you are!!
I'm so sorry about your Fitbit, Karen. I know I cried when mine died. I tried the first Inspire and returned it for a Versa2. I agree with you about the clip-on one...wish they'd bring back the One.
I hope I'm shrinking too...
Chris0 -
Paula let me know how you like it. A clip one would be great when I have to take mine off all the time while working in the tanks. OK, playing in the tanks.
Paula I am betting you scared those effects away! I sure wish my mom would get her sight back more. She can see, just not the same way. Has trouble reading and such. You should have seen me yesterday. I was on leaf patrol. Darn things kept blowing into the area we wanted to dump concrete into. While I don't mind some decorating the top, I really did not want them mixed into it!
My to-do list keeps growing, but so has my waist. Paula this is so not fair! So I did 3 water changes today. Rocky added some magnesium and other elements that is supposed to be good for the corals. The new clam is still alive and seems to be doing good. I thought it was dying last night. I gently pulled it up to put a flat disc under it to attach its foot to. Now granted I have heard so much about that if they damage the foot they will die! And my new clam did not have a foot!So then I spend hours researching it online. Do you know they can retract their foot! Well I didn't . So I am hoping that is all he did. I can't even pick it up to look since you should not move them. So waiting for a couple of weeks to go by and then I will check it.
Shelley0 -
Hi Shelley, Does the clam have a name? Wishing it well. My mom had a stroke and things improved gradually over time. I hope your mom does too.
Karen, I remember Chris and her Fitbit from when we first met. It was a significant part of her life. (then Ronan was born,).
Best all!!
Paula1 -
Paula it does. But I can't remember what Rocky called it. Oh darn! it is a dark blue with white dots.
I hope my mom is lucky also. So glad that it did not ruin your moms life or yours. I also remember the time , before Ronan,
Chris had more time to do silly challenges! Like me before clams! I will try and post a photo tonight of the clam. How is everything with the smoke and fires? I think of you and Chris a lot.
Shelley0 -
I loved my ONE!! Then I loved the ONE we paid twice the price for but only lasted a year...The Inspire letters and numbers were too small for me to read. My watch buzzes when I haven't gotten 150 steps in done within that hour and there are all kinds of apps on it!! Not that I use them but all kinds!
We have clear skies. No fires near us. How are you Paula?
Chris1 -
The fires are still smoldering; air quality depends on wind directions. It won't be over until the rains start. Waiting with baited breath.
Beautiful day today. Walked around the deck - not aerobic but felt marvelous just to be outside amid all that body and stretching and feeling the world is beautiful.
Paula0 -
Rain rain come again Paula wants to come out and play.
Chris my watch used to buzz, no idea why it won't anymore.
Shelley0 -
I don't want to weigh in. Nopey nope nope. So my new clam is doing good. But the new light turns on to early. I am wondering if it is on the wrong time zone? Who knows. Way to complicated for me. I watched one of the Purge movies last night. Rocky said he believes something like that could happen. If it ever does it will really be awful.
