Praying for you. What did you get bitten by? I’m always curious. The worst I’ve had was loggerhead turtle because it’s a crush injury so even though it was just a small cut across my finger, it was crazy painful. Luckily she only got my finger tip though!1 -

My friend felt similarly in September so she called it Adventure September and tried to do something that she considered adventurous every day in the month. Some were big things like going zip lining but most were what she termed micro adventures. Going to watch the sun rise or set, exploring local hikes or tourism spots, swimming in the ocean, going fishing with her husband etc. The entire month, most activities were free or cheap. The zip lining was the most expensive one. When you look for opportunities, they are around you in abundance. Find a new venue to go walking or meet a friend somewhere you have never been. You don’t have to do it every day, try for one thing per week.4 -

After about 5-10 disasters & stumbles with ice cream this year, my husband & I have figured out how to enjoy a little & not go overboard. Glad to know I can learn how to handle even the foods I found “uncontrollable” before.
Having said that, I have found that I’ve gotten sad (not like me) about an hour after eating in both times + some studies have shown about 6-7 ingredients in *most* ice creams are really bad for Crohn’s patients, I may CHOOSE not to eat it anymore. Amazing. Because...Health First❣️5 -
I stopped logging food at night, because I was so over and still hungry. Only did some walking and stood in the rain for over 1/2h, but that wont count as exercising, right? 😀
So 5th day of failure, which is ridiculously/ironically kind of relieving, otherwise I would have hated using 4 passes (just 1 too many) and being this || close. 🤷♀️

@dsgoingtodoit you're also in my prayers. Please let us know how you're doing.
@cjane917 wow, what a day. I love that you walked to drop off your ballot. My neighbor and I went together to our courthouse to drop off ours, too.

Pass day used. It's my 4th so no WC for me. Lots of stress right now. Trying to better manage it but just a lot going on right now.6

Finally had an "everything good" day - including getting the 25 mins exercise in before work
3X Yess!4 -
You guys blow me away. I was so surprised by the birthday wishes! Thank you!
@dsgoingtodoit I am so sorry for all you are going through. I'm hoping that you get good news from your oncologist, and hope your poor thumb heals quickly. That must have hurt.

I was so confused 😭 BBC has too much time on their hands (CBC - Canada's national broadcaster - does similar, much-anticipated silliness on TV and/or radio every year)!1 -
@Dory_42 - And so it begins - Adventure November. I love the term micro adventures. It’s been awhile since I stepped out of my box. I took a 6 week welding course about 5 years ago. Despite the burns and forgetting to lower the visor once (trust me, you only do that once and, if you’re like me, you go out and by an auto tinting visor so that you never do it again) I had a blast. I’ve been looking for socially distanced group activities but with COVID, nothing has presented itself. Your post inspired me that I can sit here and wait for whatever it is to come to me or I can get out there and find it. I am a grown woman and I can discover my own micro adventures. Thank you.4

Adventure November ... we should post this at the beginning of the Nov What's On Your Mind Thread and encourage this attitude! A whole-of-life micro-goal / adventure that isn't specifically MFP / UAC 3-Question related (not that one micro-goal couldn't be "try a different style of one-off activity" - like "go ocean-kayaking for the first time" if it is summer where you are and you are near an ocean)3
-
@readyornot1234 Glad I could inspire you!
@BMcC9 yeah, I definitely think the whole adventure thing is a mindset or attitude. Sure, trying something new can be scary but often with risk comes great rewards! I’m definitely in to encourage others to try it next month!3 -
Yes x 3 for Monday
On track, on target, and did my first bday in a couch to 5k program...eeew! Not a fan of running but I'm gonna give it a try/chance. Will enhance my cardio for tennis so let's see what happens.4 -

Hey @dewit!
Consider re-framing this!
So, a few ideas:
1. You were hungry. My motto is “I can eat if I’m genuinely hungry.” When I don’t have calories left, this means. Veggies or fruit not nuts or cheese sticks. Plain goods. If I’m truly hungry, I’ll eat them...
2. I had to try different timing & size of meals to optimize satisfaction & create the least hunger. A large breakfast, a pretty late lunch & two small 1/2 dinners works best for me BUT everyone is different. BTW when I weighed 228 I ate one large lunch out & one large dinner out, so my new way IS a new way of eating for me. I’m Basically never hungry. Breakfast 650 cal & late lunch 650 cal & two 1/2 dinners total 650-750. I walk 90 minutes a day & am 5’8.5” & 64.
3. I noticed when the cold weather hit (and no heat in house yet) I got hungrier. So I ate a bit more & lost weight. Has there been a cold weather change for you?
4. If I can’t sleep (darn, adorable cat) I will be hungrier & rather than “chase my hunger all day” I will eat 750 for breakfast, 700 lunch @ 600 in one dinner & go to sleep early!
Hope these help. You are never a failure. These times just spur our creative problem-solving!
Best,
Maddie
