Drinking water .... another frog?6

I will probably get a lot of heat for this but…I think the whole chugging water thing is not as healthy as common Internet lore. If you are not dehydrated why drink so much water? I have seen women chugging water at work for probably 20 or more years and I don’t think they are any more or less healthy than I am. I think we should listen to our own body cues as far as thirst. To me that is more important than how many liters of water I drink. 😎😎🤷🤷4

Hydration is important for me with my uni-kidney but I’ve always been good about drinking enough so that’s not a problem. For me personally, I need 3-4 litres of water per day and when I don’t get enough I feel lethargic and my urine shows that I’m dehydrated. I’m guessing that my activity levels and the climate play a role in me needing so much but is what My body wants and I like water so it’s ok with me.
Today’s exercise was Pilates reformer class and Jiu Jitsu. Ate well, all logged and under budget.12 -

DAY 18
YES: Aerobics 25 minutes today, 6 pound dumbbells 2 set's only 15 reps
YES: calculated all food and drinks
YES: Stayed under calories
WATER I get 50.7 ounces each day = (3 bottles). I'm going to the bathroom all day and night. That's enough for me. It definitely helps me stay full.7 -
I follow my doctor’s advice and aim for 64ozs of liquid!!!
He also recommends using colour as an indicator. Pale straw coloured urine means that you are getting enough.

Still not time done for the night, so not report yet, but water is the bane of my existence. I can be standing in the kitchen with a parched mouth and it will not occur to me to drink something. I get admonished by my urologist and GP and I have also been told about the rule of monitoring urine color. "Best" is almost no color.6

Funny, you should talk about water today. I decided this morning I’m going to start reaching for a glass of water and drink it before reaching for a snack.9 -

I gave up drinking the Diet Coke about three months ago - that was probably very helpful... still need to drink more. I try to drink water with lemon during the day - but love my morning coffee and now that it’s colder hot tea in the afternoon.

I did w3d1 of my c25k, and then walked an additional 6.85 miles before I realized that I was supposed to meet the girls tonight at Longhorn for dinner. Yikes! I RAN the rest of the way home (was walking outside), jumped in the shower and ran out the door!! Was only 30 mins late and had a Strawberry Pecan Salad at 190 calories!
I drink 96 oz of water each day - which is half of my body weight in ounces.. I have a 16-oz glass when I first get up in the morning, another 16 oz glass with each meal, another 16 oz glass in BETWEEN each meal, and that's 96 ounces!5 -

Favorite summer activity is likely why I am here - probably "eating". I am not a summer person. Fall is my favorite. I am not a bright sun, heat, humidity, or water person. So of course it made a lot of sense that hubby and I bought a place in the Florida Keys last year. I think I'm going to need to find a better favorite summer "activity". :P

yes x's 3 - had to rest my foot this morning - but walked this evening and it felt fine; did less today since yday was quite industrious for the plantar f. issue. Anywho - I used to drink more water and am ramping it up again. The folks that are in the know say 1 oz per lb of body weight....for weight loss - so yeah...
takes some effort. My problem is that on these long walks I need to start planning a loop by a restroom. lol5 -

Errm, had to use my 12 lb DBs instead of a 55 lb aquabag for two-thirds of a 15 min AMRAP. So how many reps did I get in? ONE 😭
As for water, I have to remind myself to stay hydrated once my morning coffee(s) is/are done. Because of today's post, I set two reminders on my phone. Glug, glug! 💦5 -

Thoughts on water: I never drank enough water! I was lucky if I got in one bottle a day. I drank at least 2-3 Monster energy drinks a day! I was always so tired and I swear my urine glowed in the dark from the chemicals! Now I drink 67 ounces a day. I find it goes down easier on my tummy and faster if its warm. I set out the water bottles at night on counter for next day and then I see them all day as a reminder. If I get on treadmill early morning I am sweating up a storm and thirsty so I easily get down 40 ounces in my workout, then not so much to drink rest of day. I still have my energy drink in morning ( hate coffee ) but now I don't have anymore unless water has been done for day. My skin looks better, more energy, urine is clear ( not glowing ) and it does carb hunger pains too and fills me up. My son used to tell me, because all he drinks is water, that if you pinch the skin on your hand and the skin stands upright instead of snapping back down that you are dehydrated! Mine used to stand like a tall mountain! Now it snaps right back into place...try it!
