Great weekend although it was all pass days. No cellphone signal and lots of sun and fun with friends.
Morning run on Friday, 10 km hike on Saturday and 5 km hike on Sunday plus regular walks to the rock pool to go swimming. Slept looking at the stars both nights. Board games with friends and playing with their kids. And then coffee and a walk my man on Sunday afternoon.
I will start logging again from tomorrow morning. Definitely need to get back on track.

Hi all,
Gonna close the month out by using my first pass day. Iβm making the boys rustic Italian bread and potato, leek, and cheddar soup for dinner and after kneading the bread and seeing 24 inches of snow in the forecast - I just want to enjoy dinner and not worry about it today. π¬π€·π»ββοΈ
I did get my class in at the gym AND had a depressing body scan this morning. I def made progress in the last year but not as much as I would have liked. I had a moment to be depressed about it, now Iβm taking the night off to eat soup and bread and tomorrow Iβll be back at it ready to win February.
So yes on exercise and tracked, but no on calories. First pass day used.

I was a little disappointed to see that I had lost only .4 of a pound this morning, but then I reminded myself of all the things I know after a lifetime of this struggle:
1. Weight loss always starts off fast, then slows down.
2. It's about the big picture, not one day. I'm 4.2 pounds lighter than I was when I started, or than I would be if I hadn't started at all.
3. Exercise matters. I look (and feel) better, regardless of the number on the scale.
4. It's all about paying attention. Mindless snacking has always been my nemesis, but tracking my food consistently has helped me get that back under control.

My calorie rule for January UACDefining, for myself more than anything, what is the definition of my daily calorie goal. For Oct and Nov, I used 1430 and not eating back exercise. December, I raised that to 1480 with no additional calories for exercise. For January, I am going to try a blended rule; either Food calories under 1480, or Net calories (ie Food minus exercise) under 1200. So, if my exercise burns less than 280 on a given day, there is no added calories. BUT, if I exercise more, I have the option additional food OR if I overeat, I have the option of exercising more to not use a pass day. This flexibility was not something I allowed in my previous rounds. Once I exceeded my goal calories, regardless of my exercise burn. Also, I am defining that I am using the MFP estimate for the caloric burn from exercise. I have been lifting and moving boxes all day after starting by shoveling the access for my MILβs movers. Back to her condo tomorrow. ***Ending January with two days on a row of firsts. Today, I thought I was done for the day/month and saw if I did 32 more minutes I could reach 30 hours of formal exercise for the month. Got dressed and headed out at 8:30 at in 18 degrees for a walk. Well⦠I ended up jogging without stopping the whole time, 39 minutes. An absolute first! Feels good!
