@MadisonMolly2017 Congrats on getting in and thanks for sharing some of the research with us!
Exercise? Yes (Yoga 30, Weights 30, Spin 45, Stretch 10)
Calories? Yes
Track? Yes
I got a new fitness toy today, a Whoop band. I love data and it monitors the strain you accumulate as well as recovery %. For instance, my strain for spin was a 10.3 and weightlifting only a 5.2. It also analyzes your sleep. It takes 4 days to get a full reading, but it seems pretty spiffy right now.9 -
@clutterqueen i am guessing that 5 mph is as low as it goes. My actual pace was about 5.27 (not impressive but did it). I have fast walked by many times and never triggered. My top walking speed is 4.44.5

One of the best changes I've made on this new leg of the weight loss journey is to stop eating at 7 p.m.. This alone has eliminated SO much of my usual mindless snacking. Staying under my calorie goal has been fairly easy most days! I've only broken the 7 p.m. rule once, on a date night with my husband. Who knew one small change could make such a big difference.13 -

@MadisonMolly2017 - that is so exciting! The journey you took is pretty much exactly the one I need to finish taking and then I need to learn to maintain. You may have just become my new role model! (I hope that doesn’t come across creepy. Lol.)

Plans for setting calorie goalFor February, I will be joining the others in the group that are here for accountability while maintaining. I am adding 200 calories/day to my January target calories, for a total of 1680. For comparison, MFP stated that my maintenance calories should be 1610. We’ll see how this goes and adjust daily calorie goal if I begin to consistently gain.

I got VERY EXCITING mail yesterday!!!
I am officially in the National Weight Control Registry! I applied long ago. This was a goal of mine when losing & especially in the early days of figuring out maintenance!! I thought maybe they had stopped.
They currently have 11,000 study participants & they invite 1,000 more each year. You have to have lost 30 lbs or more & maintained for at least a year.
I am over the moon. ❤️❤️❤️ I can’t tell you how much this means to me!
Please consider applying!! It would be great for the NWCR to get dozens of folks who answer how did you lose? Maintain?
A. Why, UAC, of course❣️
Hugs,
Maddie
PS I used to weigh 228, high weight 238...and my average monthly weights have been under 160 for the past 29 months.
So, so exciting to have been able to join a group whose research helped me❣️❣️
Wow O! Congratulations my friend!3 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, I did a body weight fitness program
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, I'm actually a little under calories today because I had planned for a serving of ice cream, but ran out of time for it.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes. I forgot to weigh my pineapple I had with dinner, but I'm pretty sure my estimate is reasonable, and because I have extra calories left over today, I'm ok if it's off by a tiny bit.
I have a planned pass day scheduled for Saturday because of my daughters birthday. She is taking us out to dinner before having cake and ice cream. Normally when I have a day like that, I tend to let it stretch out for the whole weekend and sometimes into the following week. This time I am extra concerned about not using up all my pass days, so I'm feeling a little more confidant that I can keep it to just the one day. I'm also posting here for accountability of course.8 -

Thank you! Not at all. Others were my role model & helped me realize it could be done! (Particularly @RangerRickL @craig and @w8goal4life!) Happy to help in any way, @mshawski❣️4 -

@teachedmylimit
Thank you! They did say “selected,” but I was under the impression that anyone who lost 30lbs & kept them off a year could join. That’s why I posted this — so all of you could, too❣️4 -
