@dewit I had to chuckle when you posted, "we post in different formats".
I have no idea how you create such interesting and creative posts.
Thanks for being our graphic artist with a very entertaining format for your posts!6 -

I have to say, just thinking about this challenge today kept me from going over even 1 calorie over my calorie budget today. It was great.13 -

Hello ...are you ready MARCH on to your personal victories for the month? eh?? lol
I am about to do some Zumba - so that will be my exercise today...and I have to do some cleaning that will be a little extra.
I began a "carbing down" experiment three days ago... not going extreme or "keto"...just aiming for a net carb goal. I think it will be good for me...but I'm not banking on anything extreme happening.
Had a belated bday for my son today with his literature group (yep, it was LIT)...ha,ha. I took some almonds to keep myself from losing my mind over the cake...haha. The only thing that has challenged me is the icing.
Hope you all have a good day or evening...depending on where you are located in the world at this point. ;D10 -
Oh goodness - forgot to report really... - ok, yes x's 3.9

- Start reading again. I used to read 3-4 books a week. I think I’ve read 2 books in the last 12 months? Recommendations welcome. Maybe we can start a UAC book club 😂📚🤓
Generally speaking, what kinds of reading do you like. I am / have been into many different genres over the years. Maybe I can suggest something. Fiction or non-fiction? Modern day or a bit (or a lot) historical? Mystery or relationship-type? Very "real-world" or with a touch of magic? Or a lot of magic/fantasy?6 -

Yes, yes, and yes, a good day.
Thanks for this Rick and I am happy to have made the February winners circle. Feels good.
I will stick here for the month of March, but don't see the winner's circle this month. I have a week of vacation and then surgery in late March, not likely I can do it again but that matters less than trying when I can.11 -
March 1st
Exercise: ✅ Treadmill: 1 mile walk, 4 mile run
Calories: ✅
Tracked: ✅
Happy March!
I decided to add a couple of extra goals in March.
🔵 Weight
- Current weight: 186
- Goal weight on 3/31: 179 (can be 179.8, I just want in the 170’s)
🔵 Running
- Current: I run 3 miles once or twice a week.
- Goal: Run at least 3 times a week, with one of those runs being 5 miles. (I do circuit training classes at the gym three times a week, so that will leave me one “rest” day when I will walk or do yoga.)
🔵 General movement
- Close all three rings on my Apple Watch all 31 days in March.
🔵 Mental Health
- Start reading again. I used to read 3-4 books a week. I think I’ve read 2 books in the last 12 months? Recommendations welcome. Maybe we can start a UAC book club 😂📚🤓
@mshawski I LOVE the idea of a UAC book club!biketheworld wrote: »@MadisonMolly2017 - I love your analogy yesterday about this process being like riding a bike. But then, I like anything that has to do with biking. 😏
Welcome to all the newbies. This challenge is just that, challenging, but completely worth it! The people here are so supportive and I look forward to logging on and reading everyone’s posts. I haven’t made it to the winners circle yet, but this is my month. I’m laser focused and not going to make excuses.
Exercise - yes
Tracked - yes
Under calories - yes
@biketheworld
Bikes & bike riding are awesome. I trained with Team in Training and rode a 100 miler in Hawaii, raising $6K for lymphoma & leukemia. Such a calorie burn, the views are awesome, and biking is so enjoyable!
I’ve now begun to say, “Remember the bike analogy!” to myself! 🤣
Whatever works, right?6 -

Congrats to everyone that made the circle, or finished a champion! And to anyone who decides to keep going even if last month wasn't what you expected and you keep going anyway!
Yes x 4 for Monday, tracked logged and did a 3.5 mile dog walk. Also closed the kitchen at 7:30 which is my weekday goal.

First off, I want to welcome all the new members; and my reoccurring ones for the start of March! I have not had a chance to post in the new member's section yet for this month, but promise soon! I can't wait to meet all the new people! I am leaving by myself, first time on a plane ALONE, for Georgia to visit a dear friend who got divorced in 2019 tomorrow morning! I will try and post before I leave and post more than last time because I hated trying to play catch up on so many days! I will be gone for 7 days and so EXCITED!
@dory-42 I am THRILLED to see you back posting and wondered where YOU have been? I second what @SummerSkier POSTED AND COPIED from YOUR post!
@chinkiri Having a father-in-law with Dementia and a Grandparent, I know it is HARD and better to LAUGH than cry, right?
@mshawski I would LOVE the idea of having a book club, and weird you mentioned it because I was thinking of doing the same thing this month! I LOVE reading books too! I am currently reading the title SURROUNDED BY IDIOTS by Thomas Erikson, and it is great so far and found out I am the color YELLOW! We ALL have a color, and it helps you communicate better with people if you know what color they are, very INTERESTING!
@transparente Welcome to the UAC! I need to ask why you clean kennels? I used to work dog daycare and take care of 75 dogs a day, so I know that is HARD work!
@shrkldy Welcome to the UAC! I need to ask, what is a Russian twist?
@dsgoingtodoit Funny March saying ya got there! Cutting carbs is a GREAT idea, and how I lost 33 pounds in 5 months! It started first eliminating gluten as I was having issues with it and did NOT enjoy gluten-free bread, so I gave it up! I now incorporate some gluten, and it is fine, but too much of it, and I bloat up HUGE and FEEL very SICK!
@MadisonMolly2017 I guess I NEED to read this bike post you made because EVERYONE loves it! I will look in the morning before the plane ride! I LOVE how you rode 100 miles in Hawaii and raised 6K for leukemia and lymphoma! I expect nothing less from YOU!
YOU ALWAYS INSPIRE ME!
@RangerRickL Thank YOU again for this group, the books, and honestly acting like a FATHER to me because honestly, I NEVER had one that did NOT ABUSE me in some way! YOUR help in my life is greatly APPRECIATED!

I can’t even express how much I love this. I’ve never run or rode for Team in Training but they have a great reputation and what a wonderful cause. 100 miles in Hawaii? Sounds heavenly.
@mshawski - I think you’ve started something with the book club comment! Count me in too. One of my very nerdy life goals is to have a complete set of Pulitzer Prize fiction winners in hard cover. I just finished The Nickel Boys.
I got my first shot yesterday. I feel like there’s light at the end of the tunnel. My arm is sore but not bad. However, I had a terrible time sleeping last night. Woke up at least 4 times. Not sure if it was because of the shot or not. At 5:00 I decided to just get up.6 -

I looked up SURROUNDED BY IDIOTS by Thomas Erikson, and it seems to be the basis behind a "What Kind of Leader are You?" course I took. The course was very informative (and let me say straight off that people are rarely a PURE colour .... and that your default in good times and your default under stress are not necessarily the same, although certain types do tend to default in certain directions
The pdf is available on line to download if people DO want to do a book-club thing in the "What's On Your Mind Today": space.3 -
Exercise: Yes, my regular cardio and a small core exercise routine
Tracking: Yes
Calories: Yes
Since this is the March 1 entry, I thought I'd share plans. A few weeks ago I decided to add a gradual increase in steps and meeting the stairs goal my watch sets. So far, I missed that on just 1 day. This month, I want to gradually walk outside and have added a three day a week core exercises routine for base strength.
