Stress eating is a huge pitfall for me. The key is to manage things before I get stressed out (as much as I can, anyway.) I spend some time every Sunday looking at my calendar for the week ahead so I know what I'll be dealing with. Exercise definitely helps keep stress at bay, but I struggle to stay motivated after a long day of work.6 -
I enjoyed a nice session with my trainer today. Tracked, and I'm at. I baked some almond flour banana bread and it was nice to freeze some of it, rather than leave it out for a daily consumption ritual.
Stress relief: re-signing up for my weekly yoga session has helped. All forms of exercise, talking with loved ones, keeping a journal, and reading for fun.7 -
March 26:
Yay!! Back on track (albeit too late for the winners circle this month)...
Exercise: Yes! 20 min walking workout, 35 min Zumba, and another 15 min walking workout
Track: Yes! Every BLT!
Under calorie goal: YES!!!!5 -
Stayed on track with calories and logged, but that was about all. A painful first day after surgery, lots of pain killers and no exercise... Tomorrow is another day, hopefully a better one.11

I really need to work on my water intake. it is so bad I am ashamed to admit how low it is on some days. I think I need to also add that into my priorities of staying under calories, exercising and tracking, drinking at least 6 glasses a day. I know the medical community says 8, but I will work my way up there.7 -
Yes x 3
I reduce stress by praying and reading my Bible. It also helps if I get enough sleep! Lol6 -
Like @SummerSkier, Before the pandemic, when I was still working full-time, when I would come home from the office, Rose would often say to me, "Rick, I think you need to go to the barn"
Now, I am working more than half-time remotely. I get stressed by client assumptions and unrealistic deadlines. I don't have a magic wand that can be waved over their problems. Unfortunately, my magic wand has some manufacturer's defect. I can help reduce the pain, but seldom cure all of the consequences.
Just being with the horses is enough to change my mood. I don't have to be riding, I can be pitching horse manure. I love the smell of the barn, the leather and years of horse sweat.
Here in our desert home, I love to walk in the desert. I do have a horse at a stable here and I do the daily chores.
During the last year, I have really focused on being aware of what my horse is being aware about. This forces me shut out my own internal worries and distractions. When you are trying to listen to an animal that does not speak, you must shut off your own internal chatter.
It is my internal self-chatter that must be silenced so as to reduce stress.11 -

I'll probably be taking pass #3 tomorrow as my partner is craving burger and fries so we're going to a pub type place. I always order my burgers without the caloric bun (I'm not much of a bread person in general) so I may be able to squeak by depending on whether or not I succumb to the fries or have a salad instead.
I've been pretty stress free since I retired. However, I often found having a cup of tea (no caffeine) and a good book to be a relaxing activity.7 -
26th March
Been examining in Paris all day. Staying in hotel, so food and calories are difficult, but I did manage to stay under. It's a good 15 minute brisk walk to the train station to get to the exam venue, so exercise was easy. Managed to track, although some educated guesses.
I get stressed during Lockdown, as all the things I do to de-stress, theatre, concerts, cinema, swimming pool, walking group, Yoga, Pilates and Stretching classes have closed. It's just not the same in front of a screen.
I do stress avoidance, by diving into a book or a comedy on YouTube, but this doesn't make the stress go away, I just forget about it for a bit.
Examining again this afternoon, day off tomorrow before getting vaccination on Monday, but in a Covid-ridden Paris, where everything is closed. Should manage a walk though!8 -

We enjoy making our own pizza once a week or so and that pushes my calories. I prefer making my own because I can choose the sauce, toppings, and flavors that go into it. This time I mixed herbs and spices into tomato sauce. The sauce tasted good enough to dip into.
Sometimes, all it takes to cut stress for me is a little quiet time on the deck in the back yard.6 -
Yes, yes and yes
Walking, core workout and stretching.
Have been on reduced exercise for the past week in addition to being on a liquid diet following a medical procedure. Finally stepped up the exercise today up with a core workout and added some salmon to my diet. Steps in the right direction.
For stress... last year when I was truly overwhelmed between the loss of my mother and the stress of my job in the midst of COVID, I started having ? anxiety attacks? I am not sure. I learned to do five minute meditations or simply remove myself from wherever I was and sit in silence by myself. I guess you would call them adult timeouts. I still do this from time to time. My husband and dog also provide great support in times of stress.5 -

MARCH 2021 ULTIMATE ACCOUNTABILITY CHALLENGE
Start weight, March 1, 2021: 123.2March 1, 2021 – 123.2 (-3.0)

January 1, 2021 – 132 (-3.6)
December 1, 2020 – 135.6 (-5.2)

October 2, 2020 – 147.8 (-5.2)
September 14, 2020 – 153.0
Thoughts for daily calories goalI need to revisit how I am handling my daily calorie goal for maintenance as I am “failing” in that regard as I lost another 3 lbs while “maintaining” during this month. Having two variables of food calories and exercise calories is challenging for me. In the past I have lost and maintained with less significant exercise numbers so it was more a single variable. I do not want to drop back on exercise as I am doing it for overall health and fitness.
Just use MFP to calculate my maintenance calories/day. Nutritional needs are estimated at 1590, and it predicts that with exercise, I would need 1862 for 1 hour exercise for days/week. Average Apple Watch TDEE for February was 2126. Average calories consumed/day for February were 1686. With three pound loss over the month, to maintain, I would have needed an additional 375 calories/day for a total of 2073/calories/day. So, my thought for March is to consider my daily goal, 1590 plus daily exercise, but, for planning sake, I will expect that number to be around 1900 calories.

Very much worth the treat – Went to Square Grouper and started with a Key Lime Martini with graham cracker rim (sorry @RangerRickL not the pie), shared appetizers of Flash Fried Conch with Ponzu and Wasabi drizzle (amazing!!), and Ahi Tuna and Avocado eggrolls with Asian dipping sauce, then an entrée of Seared Sesame Encrusted Tuna with Jasmine rice and Asian slaw, and finished with a cup of coffee and a shared Strawberry Nutella Bread pudding with warm butter rum sauce. Though I may not make winners circle at the end of March, I fully intend to end a champion.

*** So while I have already gone negative on my passes and out of the winner’s circle, I am caught up with all my check-ins and though my formal tracking has been off, I have survived these past 4 days. Tuesday was 123.2, then went out to dinner and jumped to 125.2, had another off day and increased to 125.6, but this morning I am 123.8 and I do not mind that. It is 3:17 PM as I type this comment, and I just finished tracking where I am at for the day, so that I can finish strong today. Exercise has not been a daily issue lately. Tracking and total calories have been my challenge. My final post will go up later tonight once the kitchen is closed.

Exercise – yes, bike ride plus a walk
Tracking – no, had pizza in the evening, couldn’t be bothered to try to estimate it
Calories – who knows?
My daughter and daughter-in-law came down to Somerset (staying at my ex’s while he is away) and we had supper together. The four children get on really well and the two mothers have become very close over the last 15 months. My DIL is American so she hasn’t seen her family for over a year, they can’t come over here and she can’t go there. It must be so hard for them.
Reducing stress? As many have said, exercise works for me. I also used to find my pets great for comfort, but I lost my cat just before Christmas.
Since I retired 6 years ago, I don’t suffer from stress much but of course lately I have had anxiety to deal with (following my son’s diagnosis in September 2019), made worse by the virus and the “lockdown” measures. Now, I’m dealing with overwhelming grief. Without a pet I’m on my own most of the time. Exercise – especially outside in the countryside – is my main recourse. I may have to ask the doctor for something to help me sleep, waking up at 2 am is now normal for me.

3 Day Streak
Stress: rest, healthy eating, talking with others, making art, learning, daily nature hikes, at bedtime I remind myself that I can’t do anything about it until the AM, so “let it go”, self-kindness
However, the BEST thing, I learned yesterday, is an all day vacation down the California coast with three hikes to waterfall/ocean, up into steep mountain chaparral - wildflowers!, and along a river in a beautiful Big Sur forest. I had been resistant because I was afraid we’d eat out as we normally do & I didn’t want to have to deal with awakened cravings ANF I was so fatigued from all that has happened the past month (I was even pondering a therapist visit - first time in 15 years) but we went!
We decided to eat one meal out, ate our regular breakfast my at home, and I prepped a healthy selection of pretty plain foods for our lunch.
we loved our picnic under a tree looking our over the Pacific ocean. My husband took a nap in the drivers seat which (who knew) reclined completely. I played a simple game on my phone - 1st time in 4-5 months. Very relaxing.
And I realized, it was time to began a new pattern. So when he woke up from the name, I said I’d like to -double masked- just look around the gift shop & skip eating out. He responded: “yeah, it’s nice but the good isn’t really that good.” And I realized we like our home cooked better now!
I awoke refreshed, happpier than I’ve been in 4-5 weeks.
I will be taking more day trips.7 -
