@MadisonMolly2017 I really like that term the "Eating Out Self". That self has a twin called, the "Celebratory Self".
I know both of those selves very well. Neither one of them is thoughtful, just indulgent.
Thanks for your post!

I’m checking in on Sunday morning having come home yesterday.
It’s nice and bright this morning – although cold – so I hope to get a long bike ride today.

Yes x 3. Exercise partly walking, partly messing about with plants.
@MadisonMolly2017 and @oh_jackie I live in France and before lockdown used to eat out quite often. Many French restaurants serve very healthy, not too calorific alternatives, still delicious! The portions are not American, and you don't need to eat the lot anyway! I usually have fish or shellfish, lots of veggies and salad. I'm not a great dessert eater, and find it easy to pass and go straight on to coffee. Soup for starters is usually an option, or small portions of something. I don't eat much of the bread either.
We also have a lot of international cuisine here in Montpellier. Before Covid-19 we used to go to a couple of Asian fusion restaurants that had a buffet, so I could just pick out the lower calorie dishes. Even in Italian restaurants you don't have to have the pasta, or just eat half of it. Indian is great too, lots of vegetable curries, Thai also ... @Hulya_79 Turkish is hard, very meat based. Low calorie options? Anyway, all this is academic as I won't be able to eat out for a few months ...6 -
