I expected today to be one of my pass days. I knew that my in-laws would be visiting today and when they visit there is more food and deserts than usual, but I made sure to get my exercise in this morning. I had a great time today, now back at it tomorrow.7 -
Well 2 steps forward and one back. Did not feel up to exercise today, probably over did it yesterday. But I am ok on calories and logged.
Rick, your post is a good one for me right now, slow progress is better than none.6 -
Calories: Y 2317/1800+600 exercise
Exercise: Y 10.5m bike ride 45 minutes
Tracked:Y
So tomorrow I start working nights 4 on 1 off for the next 5-6 weeks. While this pretty much stinks I plan to try to use it to my advantage. Getting away from the rotating schedule for awhile will definitely help towards establishing a routine. I want to try and get back doing IF. This will go a long way in keeping the calories under the limit. As far as exercise goes I want to average a 10 mile ride in before heading off to work everyday.4 -
@Winner_in_Life I read the blog. Thanks so much for the post!!!!

Pass Day #3. Somewhat lacking in motivation. Grey and wet weather doesn't help. Still problems with insomnia, which make me feel irritable and I have little patience with my other half, who has Alzheimer's. I could cope with him forgetting stuff, but then he mis-remembers things and insists he is right. I still don't understand why I cannot deal with this in a more sympathetic adult way.
Managed a bit under 20 minutes walking in the drizzle, didn't log food, so I may have been under or over budget.
However, this morning looks sunny! I will try again! Every new day us a new opportunity!9 -
3 Yes Day. And the scale moved. Finally!

Exercise: lots of yard work plus a serious core workout
Another great weigh-in this morning! Oddly enough, I think allowing myself to eat back some of my exercise calories is actually helping me make progress more quickly. I know drastic calorie deficits lead the body to think resources are scarce, which slows down weight loss--I just didn't think a hundred calories here or there would make such a big difference.
@pamjsa
I agree with this. Sometimes you need to eat a little more to lose a little more. Here's to more great weigh-ins!

Thanks @fractaltiger !
Terrific name by the way!! Conjures up some really cool images in my mind!
Always happy to share strategies! The hike was the result of 10K steps+ every single day (yearly average >10K) except for colonoscopies LOL since March 2018.
An esteemed surgeon told me unequivocally to walk 10K steps every day for the rest of my life - no rest days. I think I weighed about 216 or 211 & the scale was bobbling around. “I’m a busy surgeon, consulting in 7 countries, and I do it, so you can, too.” No nonsense straight talk, but kind. I have walked ever since. If I think of not doing it, I just say “Doctor’s orders” to myself & I’m out the door. I wouldn’t think of not taking a prescription & this WAS one. Sometimes flat route and slow, flat & fast, hilly & slow, hilly & long, hilly & fast. I pay attention to how I’m feeling & work with it so I don’t get injured.
BTW: Every other time I lost weight, I was FREEZING. Not this time. I really wonder if it’s the walking & possibly all the extra food I can give my body because of it. IDK
Re: the streak & my new approach...happy to share more once I’ve convinced myself of the proof of concept! Not convinced yet!
