Good morning. I'm new to this group. It's about my third time trying to use MFP, but my first time after RNY surgery 2 yrs ago. I lost more weight during the pre-op phase than I did after surgery, but I was at 100 lb loss so I was OK with that. Since being stuck working at home, not able to go to the gym, not doing much shopping for myself, 30 lbs have found their way back on to my body and I am not happy about it!!! I find it hard to adjust most weight loss apps to my circumstance. I really wanted to NOT focus on thinking about what I eat and listening to my body and stop eating when I feel full, but who was I kidding! That's how I got to be 350lbs in the first place! My lowest post op weight was 249 and on Monday, I weighed in at 292! In just 3 days of journaling my food, trying to balance my macros, and hubby got me a recumbent bike for home, I weighed in at 289.8 this morning! Not bad for 2 days of accountability to myself!

Way to go! I'm only 6 months post op. I had gastric sleeve on Oct 29, 2020, but I've used MFP every day before and after surgery. I started at 265 pre op, 254on day of surgery. I'm down to 174 and still going, but I feel recording my food has been vital to that success. I am transitioning a bit to Baritastic app. But it's nearly the same, except it doesnt yell at me when I eat less than 1000 calories 😂0

I am new the group, I had laparoscopy sleeve done 12/30/20. I started at 317 (i think , i don't remember my exact weight the day of surgery was so excited and nervous, and am a mom of 4 ages 27,18, 11, and 4 at the time they were all home) when i checked this morning i was down to 257.8.1

I am getting way more than I'd like. I'm not looking for anything but friendly support. I'm getting ones that show women in provocative positions as well. Wish we could stop it, I just delete.

So I've only been sleeved since last Monday and popped on in hopes of finding a group like this. I have lost about 20 lbs so far between preop diet and since sleeving. I feel like I've stalled already?? How?? I'm starting soft foods today and hoping that being off liquids and having more solidy-like will cue the full feeling and stop me. I feel like I can practically chug water... The soups I had were maybe not the best (cream of chicken strained was my fav and well... fatty, even made with fat free milk). I dunno... I'm nervous it won't work. Am I nuts?1

@spangadora , everyone's journey is different. I ended up losing more weight during my pre op preparations than I did after my surgery. I'm 2 yrs out and I have actually started gaining some of my weight back....MY WORST NIGHTMARE! But, I am back to watching my macros and increasing water and exercise and I'm finally losing again. I have several friends that had weight loss surgery and the differences between us all is crazy on who can eat what or how much of something. I can eat sweets, no problem, but pasta makes me feel like I have the flu! And oddly, the worst thing on my nummy is jello, but I can eat the heck out of popcorn. Just "do you". Follow your doctor's instructions for post op healing, then slowly test the waters and see what your new body can tolerate....the weight WILL come off.

@spandora I'm 6 months po. I have lived my sleeve. Even though at times I feel I can eat more or want more, I try to be very regular. I have to consciously chew food, sip water, and time between "feedings". That has worked really well for me. Also, during my phase 3 soft foods a d phase 4 regular foods, I meticulously food planned. I made rotating meals during the day, started at 500 calories a day with way high protein and and them up to 700 and eventually 800. I'm trying now to get to 1000 calories. I measure everything. As I've added in foods, I soooo agree with @trishalong84, everyone is so different. I can't eat a lot of sugar, it makes me really sick, and bread and popcorn get stuck and cause so much pain. But, hamburger has been the worse! I'm in pain all night long. I've learned to really appreciate Ground Turkey. I can eat a wasa crisp bread and 1/2 of a low carb spinach/herb Tortilla.
Follow what your doctor and dietician say as closely as you can. That's the key to success. I'm down 84 pounds heading into my 6 month appointment next week. 20 more to go.
Just keep plugging along and find your routine!2
