Is there anyone to whom you are grateful for supporting you in your journey toward better habits and health?
After today, only one day left of the May Challenge. Please help me out by letting me know if you are making the Winner’s Circle. So far we have:
@MadisonMolly2017
@Summerskier
@WhatMeRunning
@ClutterQueen
@TerryRichardson112
@MaltedTea
@lesdarts180
@SRMDB
I am confident that there are others I am missing.

Overnight, I see a couple more winner's circle members
@Biketheworld
@Jtreasures
And I believe @calvin20874 data indicates he will be in as well.

30th May
No Winners' Circle for me, too many Pass Days at the beginning of the month. Today was a 3 x Yes though. Exercise: It was a beautiful day, I walked for an hour this morning. I was ready to give up after 50 minutes, but I had promised myself I would do an hour, so I did another 10 minutes.
Calories: Under. Nice food, I am trying to empty my fridge and my freezer, without going over budget. Will be interesting when I get to the pizza and icecream... Portion Control!!! Tracked everything.
Today's question / discussion point (you're very good at this @SModa61!): If I didn't have my UAC and other MFP friends to support me, there would literally be no one. My partner, well, poor man... ; other friends: too far away, too much on their own plates. Ditto my brother, struggling with a Covid affected business, my sister, who has a growing family and keeps an eye on my Mum and her equally elderly father-in-law, my kids, dealing with Crohn's disease, unemployment, faced with deportation back to USA; my stepson, coping with girlfriend with cancer... I am doing my best to support them. So, thank you UAC friends, I am truly grateful and appreciative of your staunch support!11 -
3xYES
15km walk My husband, he is my biggest fan and motivator. But it is not so easy to please him 😉 And he is very honest... Meaning that when now he says I look good, it is really so.6 -
@SModa61 please consider me for WC. I had 3 pass days. Thank you ☺️4

I can’t say that I have had much support from friends and family in the journey to better health and habits. I’m grateful to the UAC group but I did the weightloss just with MFP and my own determination.8 -

I'm very appreciative of my hubby's support - even though I often teased him that I don't need him to be my "food police". He often will nudge me and let me know that it's a beautiful day to go for a walk!!!!
@lesdarts180 it's awesome that you've done so well on your own determination and without any support from friends/family.8 -

My support is this group and my own sense of satisfaction as I meet goals and get fitter7 -

@MadisonMolly2017;
@SummerSkier;
@craigo3154;
@TerriRichardson112;
@2020pinktogo;
@Bill70sStrong;
@victorious55;

@SModa61 Thanks for asking that question!

Exercise: active stretching, walking and farm chores
Tracking; good, even though I attended a family gathering
Calories: under my limit.
Still 3 passes, but I will take an intentional pass tomorrow. That will be the 4th.
No worries, in the manner of @alligatorob, it was a very good day and tomorrow will be one too!7 -
Definitely in the winner's circle 😊
Yes x 38 -
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes ... treadmill 301mins / 1.79 mi + Shoulder/Light Back Workout + pool play
Passes used: 6/3
My first session for my recomp was for shoulders and a light back workout. I've already been doing 3 of the 6 different exercises that were included. The three new exercises hit some areas in the upper back that I've not hit recently so I'm currently feeling some discomfort.
This spring has been unseasonably cool so today was the first day we felt like we could go in the pool. The pool is solar heated meaning by the sun and not panels. It was actually very pleasant and made my uncomfortable back muscles feel better. Today was also the first day I've ever put my Apple Watch in the water. It seemed to handle it well. I've always been curious about how many calories I burn in the pool. It seems to be roughly the same as what I burn lifting weights.
I don't talk about my weight loss or recomp with anyone but my partner. He has been extremely supportive of my efforts. He is also trying to stay at a healthy weight so he appreciates my efforts to make sure we eat healthy meals most of the time. While he is happy to participate in cooking meals he is not very good about planning so that falls on me but he is always appreciative of my choices in that area.

Yes, yes and yes. Though exercise was yardwork again, but I did it.
I will probably make the Winner's Circle, by definition anyway.7 -
No exercise for me today but a great day. Back at church in time to celebrate a few baptisms at the beach and then catching up with my friends. Logged my food and even though it wasn’t the greatest choices, I was on budget.6

People who have helped me in my journey:
1. Thank you @RangerRickL ! That means a lot to me, and you know how valuable you & UAC have been to me on this journey. Forever Grateful. 😁 You inspire me DAILY, my friend!!!
Thank you also to @craigo3154 & @w8goal4life who taught me so much (along with Rick) about maintenance.
2. My husband has been amazing throughout our marriage - loving me as I was & how I am now, never making me feel bad for my extra wt or inability to keep up with him (he’s very athletic.). He is now DELIGHTED that I can hike with him❣️❣️❣️
He also joined me in not eating out at all & cut out a 40+ Year Dr Pepper “addiction” & dropped 35-40 lbs. I very much appreciate his willingness to shop for our food so I didn’t/dont have to manage food cues & to not have my “trigger foods” in the house. He’s a great support, and it’s much easier now with us both on the same page! I am so lucky to have him! ❤️
3. NOOM & especially my NOOM coach helped me greatly, especially transitioning from fairly strict dieting to maintenance. Specifically, she gently began mentioning having a treat now & again, eating a wider variety of foods, and dabbling with intuitive eating.
4. My kidney transplant surgeon who told me June 2017 that my weight was fine for the surgery (I weighed around 212) because it was evenly distributed, but I should walk 10,000 steps daily - no rest days - for the rest of my life. I have done this! “Doctor’s orders.” I cannot thank her enough. I believe it is the secret to my success. Not only does it improve my health, but it keeps me happy, grateful, calm, and full of joy! 👩⚕️🩺🌲🚶♀️
PS by the time of the surgery in November I was about 195lbs. She greeted me with “You look GREAT!” I was able to thank her for her life changing directive.
6. Finally, it was my son’s transformation that inspired me to try “one more time” to lose weight & get fit. ❤️🧗🏃🥗🥕🍆🌶
6. OK, 2, I mean 4, I mean 6 more:
* The Building Better Habits group and members Thank you @themedalist
* The Maintenance Discussion in MFP. Both have been instrumental!
* The 10 day weight loss group in MFP while I was losing. Thank you @GrandmaJackie
* The 24 HR monthly exercise group in MFP that turned me into “a beast.” Thank you @JDMac82 Simply invaluable!!
And the Halfsize Me podcast
& Phit & Phat podcast
Ok yep probably forgetting some, but it’s been 5 years 5 months, and I like to mix it up!
Although I don’t know them well, @TerriRichardson112 & @Corriepelc have been steady, positive inspirations to me over the years. Doing the work daily. As is Rick. I’m not alone.
Thanks all!

Wow! Again, such amazing responses! Mine was going to be how I am grateful for my husband putting up with me. :P Now anything else I would add, would just be duplications for what the rest of you shared.
Three yeses for me. Yesterday, May 30 (AKA today) I got my first solid walk in the month of May and best walk since coming back north. Was a little "risky" in that it was not loops or interweavings all near my home from which I could stop at any point. I headed for the 7 eleven that turned out was just over 3 miles away and almost to the highway. The route there was mostly uphill, but long and slow. Took a different route home and got foiled by the longest train ever. I am guessing the car drivers thought I was nuts as I kept walking up and down the street until the train passed. All in all it felt good. Getting outside to walk is so much less natural than when I was in Florida.
No winner's for me with 8 passes (pretty sure it was 8), but pleased with fewer passes than March and April.
Scale indicates that the pass and non-pass days are balancing out well enough. This morning's weight (May31) compared to MFP data is .8 down from March 2, .6 down from April 6, and .2 down from May 3. So pretty steady with a very very slight decline. Interestingly though, if you look at my new habit of entering daily weights into MFP, there is a high to low range of 4.2 pounds. In maintenance I have to be ok with those daily swings and trust the process of being mindful of my actions.7
