Walked 1, ran 3. Friday’s I normally run 5, but that humidity 🥵. 89%. It was killer.
Pizza for dinner tonight, as we ended up picking up one of my BFFs 10 year old from school and hanging out with him while they had a palliative care convo with the hospital about her mom. 💔 So…the boy likes pizza and video games so he got pizza and video games. I worked it into my day though, and had 2 whole calories to spare.
Tomorrow will be an intentional pass day because hubby and I are doing date night, and he picked the restaurant based on what he knows I enjoy eating. Lol. The dessert menu looks incredible, but the biggest danger…there is sweet and spicy hummus on the menu. Sweet and spicy hummus. Yup. Pass day. My goal for tomorrow is to have a good session with my personal trainer and keep the rest of the day on track, so I only go over on dinner and in the end it’s not all that bad.10 -
Yesterday was a Pass Day. By not traveling, we have focused on getting our home of 28 years updated to sell. Today we met with 7 different service providers.
Today was a UAC on target day, despite the distractions.
A day without tracking is day without guardrails.
Exercise: walking 47 minutes and farm chores 28 minutes plus lots more activity
Calories: well under my limit

@SModa61 - The tracking here on MFP has been an eye-opener for me. I have tried written food journals in the past, but I have not been good about weighing items or considering portion sizes before I write the food item down. Portion sizes are my biggest issue. The MFP database and system is making me very conscious of just not what I eat but how much, and my actual caloric intake.

@donna25trinity - in the words of Heather - “I am loving what you’re saying!” Lol I know you love her as much as I do.
@MizSpiffy - instead of focusing on what you haven’t done (like meeting the 3 UAC goals), focus on what you have accomplished. Or - don’t worry about all 3 goals. Pick one and set a goal of making that one thing all month. If thats an improvement in your life and more realistic, then just do that. Like @MadisonMolly2017 keeps saying...baby steps.
Since my husband does all the cooking, pre-tracking isn’t really doable. However, when I get home from work and see what he’s making, I do usually check calories before eating so I can control portion sizes and stay within limits. I love love love having my calorie loss set at 1/2 lb per week. I try to end the day with a couple hundred calories left, but it also means I never feel deprived.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Kind of. 8 minutes here, 8 minutes there, 15 minutes elsewhere. So, all in all? I guess I should say no.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Not even close.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, I did. Even though it was out of bounds, I put it in.

Congratulations to the future Mother-in-law @readyornot1234 ! And well done, @_JeffreyD_ ! Thank you @donna25trinity, and thanks everyone else for your encouragement. I am incorporating the 60 minutes walking almost automatically into my day and, @seilidhe I regularly have to do it in bits. For me that still counts, because, left to my own devices, I wouldn't have done any!7

I'm writing down my meals in a wellness journal and then check items off when I batch update MFP 2 or 3 times a day to track the calories. Sort of a combination of writing foods down before I forget them and also jotting down some foods for a later meal to remind myself to use left-overs or something before it spoils, as well as a visual at a glance to aim for enough servings of fruit, fiber, dairy, etc.5 -
Friday is generally pass day and this one is no exception. I did track and get a walk in, but I went over on calories. Those yummy Friday night dinners get me. That’s 2 pass days for June. Yikes!6

Pass Day #2
The good news: I whacked my sodium down - finally!!
The bad news: Everything else went out of whack. Stomach is uncomfortable- I never do this anymore.,
I will figure it out. Most likely it is pre-dreading our beloved son’s visit which will end soon 🥲 combined with the realization that I still have to be as careful with COVID as everyone else was the past 1.5 years. Things maybe opening up, but not for folks like me. The part that gets me is how it restricts the ones I love, too. It’s odd to be so incredibly lucky to have received a transplant & now feel like I’m on an extended house arrest. I’ll re-find my balance. I know I will. Luckily, I have a caring & loving husband AND an awesome son who I know will visit. And a budding art practice that I continue to build & cherish.
I ate so badly I feel ill right now. So unlike me. I haven’t done this in years. I bet feeling like this will get me back on track tomorrow.
✅Exercise: didn’t want to, but got out & just kept walkng: 1:37hr 11,818 steps I had a great time!!!
Calories: over
✅Tracked: all, I always do. Self-honesty is key & I want my data to be accurate.
Other goals:
1. Sodium:
June 2 - 8 goal: 2,300mg avg
6/2 2,419 mg
6/3 2,678 mg
6/4 1,926 mg ❤️ 3-day avg 2,341
Spoiler
2. PLAY with
Drawing & painting,
✅Textile Arts,
Book Arts,
Digital Image Apps, and/or
✅ Decorative Embellishments daily 😁
3. ✅Phone my dad at least twice a week. (I’ve realized he’s a bit lonely.) 🤗
I’m figuring it out. I’m not scared. I’m not beating myself up. I’m figuring it out. I do know bringing down the sodium is key. I also know I need to re-stock our fridge tomorrow. Usually it takes me 3 days to turn this around.
I fell into some not so good habits over the past 6 weeks.
I reversed the high salt bread today!! But I replaced it with high saturated fat & high fiber foods. It’s such a juggling act!
Tomorrow: reduce the nuts to no more than 1.5 oz & v dark chocolate to no more than 1 ounce & I should be good.10 -
Big hug to you @MadisonMolly2017! You help so many people, yet I feel helpless and don't really know what to say, except: you are a strong woman and yes, you'll figure it out and soon you'll be on track again. Enjoy your son's visit while he's still with you. I feel your pre-dread and I haven't even been able to organise a visit to see my sons, due to quarantine and expensive test requirements. We're all there for you!
Oh, and well done for the salt! My grandma suffered from thrombosis and wasn't allowed any salt and I still remember her sighing that salt free bread was the worst, even after years and years!6
