    @rwood566 What a crap day. Sorry bro!
    I am hoping the pool opens Friday so I can transition from walking to swimming. I am going to start using the recumbent bike also. The physiotherapist said I am not allowed to lift weights yet. If they don’t open the pool in the building I am going to look into getting a membership at the gym that’s about 5 minutes from here. It has a pool. I am also going to look into some deep water aqua fit at another facility. I have a plan so all is good.

    Pool sounds great... Heck it was nice going to the Beach last Saturday. First time I took a dip in a long while. I even took my shirt off.. I'm long past carrying what any body thinks of me. Cause I'm awesome. lol

    The theater's are opening up on Friday. So I think I might just buy a ticket for me and Lynn to enjoy a show. :)

    Isn’t it funny how a proper sleep makes a difference. Great job on the elliptical. You are right that salt adds great flavour. I had to train myself not to use the salt shaker at every meal. I love hearing about different diets. I am so excited for Friday and everything opening back up. It has been a long time coming. Enjoy the rest of wacky Wednesday!

    @Megan_smartiepants1970
    Glad your headache has improved. I didn’t know there was vitamins for headaches. Sounds like you guys had a great day shopping. Enjoy your walk today.

    @MSWarrior7088
    Awesome steps! Great job staying under. Did you enjoy your dinner out?

    @rwood566
    What a crazy stressful day. I am glad you are starting to get answers. Will you have to wait long to get into cardio? I am amazed at people who don’t eat when they are stressed. I just want to devour everything in site. That is really low blood pressure. How has your back been lately? Did all the driving hurt it?

    No walk today .... I got a migraine last night and still have a slight one this morning ... if I can we will be cleaning the house today ... I am afraid to go walking and get light headed away from home ...I am hoping to go on our long walk on Saturday

    Take it easy today. I hope your migraine goes away. You have had a hard go of it with the headaches and migraines lately.

    Not sure what happened Monday for steps probably due to more rain. Such a rainy July here! Yesterday I made up for it with doing workout and walks. Focusing on water starting today, I got one of those silly water bottles that tells you where you should be based on time of day. So we will see if it helps! I am the worst at drinking.

    @rwood566 it is difficult to find good medical care and frustrating when tests are repeated because they won't listen to you. I have extremely low blood pressure when standing but nobody wants to cut or remove the blood pressure drug because it protects my kidney so basically told to just deal with it. Was reading another MFPer's post and she was told that her dizziness was caused by losing so much weight. Have tried googling this but can't really find any science backed info.

    I have low pressure too, and it practically bottoms out when I stand. I get crazy light-headed if I'm squatting or something and stand up. I even fainted a couple times. My doc just said "Hmm. That's weird for your age. Eat more salt." Idk. It's been that way for years.

    I guess it could have been worse. Brought my mom home from the hospital Monday night. Now realizing that life is not and will not be back to normal any time soon:( Yesterday and today, I spent several hours at her home helping her. I'm hoping to find some help, but that will take time. So, I'm just going to do the best I can. I'm so stressed, and this has been so disruptive to my family. They are affected by this so much as well. Life is so hard right now, but I know it will get better. One day at a time.

    Orthostatic hypotension. Basically I stand up, b/p drops and pulse goes up to compensate. That is what they are working on now. If the top b/p number drops by 20 pts or the bottom drops 10. My bottom dropped 10 but my top missed 20. Helpful suggestions included drink water. Don't get dehydrated. Eat salt. Don't put it on everything, but don't cut way back either. When standing, wiggle toes or feet, step in place every few minutes. Compression socks or sleeves, abdominal wrap. Easy test is to lie down for 2 minutes, take b/p, stand up for 10 minutes, taking b/p at 2 min, 5 min, 10 min. See how far the numbers change. Hope this may help any of you with lightheadedness.

    @lindamtuck2018 my back is manageable. It is ok most of the time now. That position did help when it was hurting more.

    @iradi8 at least you can be home a bit more now. It does affect the whole family a lot. I hope you all can get some together time to decompress every so often.

    Check in for 7/14:
    Steps - 5872. Not much better but slept a bit to late to do a good cool walk.
    Calories - 1370. I have to be eating in my sleep. I'm not very hungry at meals.
    Exercise - gym this afternoon. 8 machines, mostly shoulders and back. Walked around the gym's block instead of the treadmill. 0.9 miles in 19 minutes in the heat.

    My dr. called and we talked about my b/p. I forgot to ask about my blood work and xray. I will find out by the 22nd. I will be talking to weight clinic support group.

    Very good step counts, everyone. Glad to see the heat isn't stopping you, just slowing you down.

    Thanks for those tips! My doc did laying down then standing, but not several in increments. I did hit the top/bottom dropping threshold you mention ...

    I'm going to try the tips you mentioned. Maybe not compression socks, but wiggling toes/feet for sure.

    You certainly did make up for it on Tuesday. Hopefully, the water bottle will help you. There are also apps you can use. I have used Plant Nanny in the past but there are all kinds of them,

    Awesome workout! I seriously used to eat in my sleep. I was taking a medication that contributed to it. The only reason I would know is we would find things left out on the counter in the morning. I also woke up one night chocking on popcorn. Scared the living daylights out of myself. Weight gain was the other clue. Stopped the medication and the eating stopped. You are in the process of getting compression stockings right? I am interested to see if that makes a difference. Is the weight support group at the veterans hospital?

    @lindamtuck2018 good luck with the exercise. Great to have the help with housework. I hope you enjoy the lunch outing afterwards. The support group is meeting virtually but is run by the v.a.

    @Megan_smartiepants1970 only a slight ache is a lot better. Good luck with your appt today. Sorry you are stuck with the bad one still.

    @Aqualang26 I hope that helps some. I will be trying everything since I don't want to take a med to raise my b/p.

    Check in for Wednesday
    ✅Steps 4,019
    ✅Sleep
    ❌Walk
    ❌ 5/8 hourly reminders

    Really surprised at my steps. I didn’t think I moved that much. Going to rest one more day. I don’t care if I have to crawl but I am either walking or swimming tomorrow. I will make an effort to do all my reminders to move.

    My 15 year old granddaughter came over last night. She is going to help me get some housework done. I promised her takeout for lunch but I will be strong and not get any for myself.

    Happy Thursday!

    Look at you, you're even better at getting in steps than you think 🤩 Glad to hear that you are going to rest AND love that you will be trying to get in some purposeful movement (walking or swimming) tomorrow. You are so good at using your reminders, I keep ignoring mine🤦🏻‍♀️
    That is so incredibly sweet of your granddaughter. Have a wonderful day together.

    I'm sorry to hear that you are still suffering from headaches. About three years ago, I began having debilitating migraines. Nothing provided relief. Saw neurologist, he wanted to admit me to the hospital. Thought he was crazy. Went home. Still suffered from migraines - this went on for over three months. Finally, I went to the migraine pain clinic and they sent me straight to the Emergency Department, which I thought was overkill. They explained that they could possibly provide relief intravenously. Again, thinking to myself while being escorted to the ED, this is not what the ED is for, it's for emergencies. They gave me some sort of IV cocktail (I was too out of it to understand what they were saying and listen to what they were giving me), a couple of scans and then about an hour later - the pain was gone. The next day, no pain. A week later, a month later, a year later.... no pain. If I would have known that my migraines could have been cured in a matter of an hour in the ED, I would have gone right away. Just a thought.

    @TheresaM787 ...Thanks ....When I lift my right hand at times I get a sharp pain in the middle of my back ... I think I might have a pinch nerve or something .... I went out and bought a deep tissue massager ...if this doesn't help then I will be talking to my GP next month

    My podiatrist appointment went well ...I go back in October for him..... Today was treat Megan day ... Both Alyssa and I got our hair cuts I got bangs and layered again ...daughter got shoulder length hair (very cute) then we went to Bedbathandbeyond (my absolutely favorite store) I bought a Keurig Kcafe maker that makes cappuccino, lattes and single serve coffee using pods ...an instant pot ...3 kcup drawers...lots of different coffee pods and my deep tissue massager :) Christmas in July for Megan :):):):)

    Thank you Linda, yes loved having my parents here. It's amazing how fast time goes by when we are together. Wished the weather would have been nicer, but at least we are together.

    If it's a pinched nerve, while waiting on your GP, NSAIDs and Physical Therapy/Massage should help a bit. Hopefully that new massager does the trick! Merry Christmas 🎄 hope in July. Enjoy all of those new goodies, you chose some terrific presents. Glad to hear that the podiatry appointment went well and that you both had some nice haircuts.

    I used to track every single ingredient in the beginning. Then as I learned the calories of spices and condiments, I would just do a blanket add in or add in extra portion of the meal equivalent to the calories. With that said, I did measure everything.

    This morning I got up a bit earlier. I was able to get in five miles before hubby joined me for our usual three mile walk together. Felt good getting in a mini-Megan (2 hours and 24 minutes). I really don't know how Megan does it.
    Made roasted wild salmon with a spicy plum salsa for dinner tonight. Love salmon, so quick and easy.
    Finished off the Long Island-style crumb cake that I made for my dad (they left today and there was only a piece, ok it was a large piece, leftover). Thanks to the mini-Megan, the cake didn't put me over.
    I still need to do a better job drinking more seltzer throughout the day. I'll get there one day.

    I don’t do keto but I do track everything. I don’t track my vitamins but if I was taking a cold medicine such as NyQuil I would track that. A shot of that stuff has 90 calories.
