Pass days remaining: 2
Progress for me right now is no progress. That sounds stupid, but really - my weight has plateaued for like 3 months at this point but I haven’t given up yet, I’m still at it, and that right there is progress over my former self who would have said f it where is the cake after two weeks.
One day the scale will move again. Someday. Somehow. Even if it’s just me throwing it off a cliff, it will move. Mark my words.
Off topic: anyone have any suggestions for a particularly nice cliff in the Hudson Valley? 🤔6 -
@mshawski with daily activities like strength, running and now even yoga, plus an 11/12 on UAC days so far this month (that's an A seeing as it's back to school month), I would definitely call that progress!3

Exercise: Yes. 25 minute run plus weight circuit at the gym
Tracking: Yes
Calories: Yes
I have been thinking a lot about what happens when I reach my weight goal. Obviously, the new goal is to keep it off, but I'm not completely sure what that looks like yet. Through the many years of yo-yo diets I have never once formulated a post diet strategy. That's crazy when I stop to think about it.
I am absorbing a lot of wisdom from the maintainers here, and I want everyone to know that I am reading your posts and appreciate what you have to share.9 -
Traveling with the grandkids!
Over on calories but a great day!

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, started my day with a 20 minute walk and then my husband and I went out together for a longer one at lunch
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
When I get to my goal weight I intend to re-evaluate if that's truly the place I want to be. At 125 less it was sort of a shot in the dark as to where I wanted to land. There really no change expected... what I focus on or how will shift, but I plan to keep doing the work in the same way.6 -

Did I exercise 20 minutes or more? No.I was in court all morning and, sadly, no breaks to do any stretching or anything. Then it was finishing paperwork before I had to leave for a doctor's appointment. Everything looks good and she didn't hear the heart murmur the GI doc said she heard when I was there last week. In addition, she was quite happy with my current A1C and told me to get out of her office because I was too healthy to be there. Got home and daughter was not in a good place, so I sat, talking and listening and just being silent, with her. Trivia at the pub tonight.
Did I track everything? Yep.
Did I stay within calories? Nope.
Extra Credit Question: If/when I meet my goals, I will look ahead to the next, whatever that may be. Right now I can't even fathom hitting my goal weight, but I have faith it will happen. I keep thinking this:
You still move around the room, so I'm just going to cha cha my way towards my goal and then we'll see how it feels and where I'll go next.

2 YES day. Tracked and I had a 35 minute treadmill run/walk. But went over on calories. Tomorrow is a travel day so we’ll see how that goes.5

Yes yes and yes. Only did 1 weight session this week and no jogging but at least stuck to walking. Hmm for me i am much the same as @Mshawski in the sense that i cant get that darn scale to stay down but wen i finally get there my priority is to learn how to maintain for a while then once i hve mastered that skill i wld like to do sum body recomposition but thats a long way off. I am learning so much from this topic. I especially like the cha-cha analogy. As a dance lover I’m definitely going to cha-cha cha the rest of the way today and tomorrow and The next day ad Infinitum6

Exercise: 60 minutes walking, 50 minutes stretching and PT exercises
Tracking: yes
Calories: over (but close)
Pass day 33 -
@bradkcrew - here’s something I heard in a podcast and it couldn’t be more true “the diet industry has made billions of dollars telling us how to lose weight, and almost none telling us how to maintain.” Like you said, this is why our weight yo-yo’s so much. I’ve also learned that maintenance is something to practice, so that when you get there, you know what it looks like. I’ve not yet done a true maintenance cycle but plan on doing that later this year.
@seilidhe - ok you get the award for best analogy/imagery - the CHA-CHA!!!!!!!!!4 -

@seilidhe I just love the cha-cha analogy, and boy isn't that the truth! I will definitely remember that one! And I must say that your attitude is amazing. You seem to have a lot going on, yet you keep such a terrific outlook - I applaud you!! 👏
I was so tired last night that after reading all the posts leading up to mine, I completely forgot to log my own response to the extra credit question! Sorry about that. But like so many others, I've learned that this isn't a "diet" with an "end date" - but rather a lifelong journey. I've always been a goal oriented person in other areas of my life - once I reach a goal, I reassess and make new goals. My weight loss should be no different.2 -
Yes, yes and yes
This question makes me think about how I have been not really focusing on my goals and I need to get into the right mindset. I need to change this thinking.4 -
