    Lots of steps and elliptical
@darkrider42 I am glad you are on the other side of you surgery and that recovery looks like it is coming right along. I wish they had given me such toys when I broke my ankle 10 years ago! I am jealous!

… have fallen behind this month! Was on vacation for a few days and although there was lots of walking it was mostly sightseeing :)!

Trying to get back on track for the rest of the month - will be tough but will give it a good go!

20 miles done so far this month …

@JANET - Oooo, a cape would have been great!

@KAREN - As would the horn! I do have one of those, but it's on a lanyard and doesn't have the bar mount on it. I've had it on my nightstand since surgery to call for help in case I call out and nobody hears me. I've only had to use it once when the dang cat was crying to get out of the room while I was trying to nap and everybody was downstairs and couldn't hear me call out. And your HEAT there!! Dear Lord, that's awful, I'm so sorry!! I hope you get relief soon! :pensive:

@CLEPANT - Thanks! I love lemonade! Jen always calls me her "Silver Lining Guy" because I usually try to find the upside of not-so-great situations.

@TAHM42 - Thank you, too! Yeah, the knee scooter has been super helpful. The regular crutches I have only used a time or two. The peg leg crutch my wife had heard about and purchased it off Amazon. Yesterday, something just clicked and I feel super comfortable on it now! I'm rarely reaching for something to hold onto for balance. Before I was grabbing EVERYTHING I could not to fall because I could take a couple steps and then even the tiniest misstep would freak me out and I flailed. Now I feel like I can walk just fine ... on a good surface anyway.

Okay, since I made my goal of 1 mile this month already with my little scoot last night, I'm going to bump my goal up to 3 miles. I still need to be conservative so I don't overdo it. I don't want ANY setbacks.

    Dave

    Thanks, @Janet

Not much activity in here today. Is it the high heat keeping everyone indoors??

    Have a great evening, all!

I wish I had stayed indoors this morning, it was like walking in soup. And that was a 8AM before the real heat hit. I am finding time to walk, I'm still getting the time to post figured out.

Added 27.5 miles for a total of 63.5 for the month. (I AM moving, just disappearing for days at a time)

Love the pictures Dave, I needed some of those smiles tonight.

My sun turned 40 on 8/15. So I spent 4 days at Mt Bachelor vehicle camping in my van in the resort parking lot. Tuns of smoke from the fires, but we had a great time. Sunday went up on the lift to Pine Marten Lodge for a Sunset (red smokey variety) Dinner for his birthday. Oh and it was over 80 degrees up at the 7800 foot level.

My son David, and the huge smoke blanket. There are mountains behind him, just can't see them

So much smoke here in northern California. Well, it is the perfect excuse to stay indoors. :#

That's goal for me and @cpanus (old goal). Chris, I increased it for you.

For all you affected by the smoke, please take it easy.

I'm off to Alaska tomorrow. Dave - over to you until Labor Day!
