No specialist skills @PatriceFitnessPal just putting in sleepers, laying a new pad and turfing the garden. More manual labour than anything. This weekend is out as I am working Saturday, family outing Sunday and sorting the house Monday. My son has returned from Uni so we converted the Utility that I made into a gym into a 'lounge' for him. No self-respecting 21 year old wants to be hanging out with his parents!
Now I have all the stuff we piled up in that room floating around needing sorting.
Got a 10k in this morning which was nice. The knee is keeping the pace really slow but miles under the feet are all that matters.
Hope you all have a great weekend!3 -
I've lost 65 pounds (still 34 to go) and, well, I look like the Michelin man with a big flat saggy tire around his middle. Sorry if that's TMI, but what on earth can I wear so that I don't look awful? Do I need to get some shapewear? I've been wearing huge baggy shirts (well, my old shirts, to be honest!) because anything close-fitting looks perfectly hideous with lumps in unexpected and unattractive places. As an instructor I have to stand up in front of a whole lot of university-age students and I really don't want to look terrible or to get distracted thinking that they're staring at my flat tire! Does anybody have any suggestions?
Shapeware is expensive and often ill fitting. I would recommend Marshall’s or TJ Maxx to start with. Name brands at lower prices. I’ve bought some from Walmart that just rolls up or down. Skip Amazon unless you are buying a brand you are already familiar with the sizing.
I bet you do not look as bad as you think you do!!!
You are right, there are extremely expensive
I would add Burlington's as well as Ross Stores - if you have them in your areaI've lost 65 pounds (still 34 to go) and, well, I look like the Michelin man with a big flat saggy tire around his middle. I live in rural Nova Scotia, so I have not heard of many of the stores people are listing! I think I might have reached the point, however, of just thinking, "screw it; if people want to stare at my spare tire, let 'em." It's not like many of the students look any better! I might check out a compression top though. They're presumably built for runners, so surely they wouldn't creep up on me. And it'd be something I'd have to wrestle myself into only once per day (not every time I went to the bathroom!) I wore a nice shirt yesterday and I think it looked ok after all. I guess we all tend to judge ourselves too harshly. But I really appreciated everybody's feedback. Buying shapewear sounds even more complicated than buying a decent bra!!!3 -

Sorry not a good week.2 -
Ugh. 3 more weeks to go before maternity leave. My Saturdays seem to be all rest no fun lately. My husband went on a weekend hike with some friends so I’m home alone (and can freely take up the entire bed, yay!) but it also means he’s not here doing grocery shopping or cooking.
I did some laundry and baby stuff organizing in the morning, took a nap, and then went to get groceries so I could make myself some dinner. I got the groceries but now I’m too exhausted to actually cook, so I ended up ordering delivery. At least I have groceries ready for a lunch tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow I have more energy to do something.3 -

I wholeheartedly agree with your intention to just screw it and let others stare if they so wish. What other people think about you is none of your business. Besides, you probably don’t like everyone around you or particularly enjoy the way everyone around you looks (you just said many of your students don’t look any better), so why should you expect everyone to like you? Some people will never like you or your appearance, just like you will never like every single person on this planet. After fulfilling basic criteria of being appropriately clothed and bathed, your appearance should be nobody else’s business and their opinion of it is none of yours.
I know saying this is a bit harsh, but realizing this has been soooo liberating in my personal life and I want to spread the joy2 -
