yes I decided to bring some fruit in my low carb diet. I have given up sweets and I thought well maybe some fruit will help and it seems to. I dont do keto, I just do 100 gr or less of carbs daily. I love low carb, it has worked for me for the past 3 years keeping my weight stable. Anyone else eat fruit? Grapefruit, strawberries, grapes, of course all in moderation. Seems to be working. I dont think I could do low carb unless I put some of these in and I also use low carb flat bread because I have to have some kind of bread or at least I think I do, lol

I too stay around 50-60g carbs and include occasional fruit, more so in the summer when it's fresh. Berries, 1/4 grapefruit or half a peach are my favs.

Planning on adding some low carb fruits and veggies this time around. Hoping by not keeping it so strict that I'll stay on it better. A lot of times after being back on plan awhile I naturally end up moving to OMAD and mostly meats anyway, but just the thought of knowing I can have the other if I want will be a big thing for me I think.

I have added dried apricots and apple rings to my diet simply to get fibre as low carb blockage is absolutely no fun.

I eat about two fruit per day. I, too, use it as a dessert. I get both fresh and frozen fruit. My favorite summer dessert is having a bowl of frozen blueberries with a splash of oatmilk.

Oh that sounds really yummy! My total goal for the day is 45-50, hard to manage when you love fruit!!

I always ate as much strawberries and raspberries as I wanted and lost on keto the entire time. I understand everyone's different. For me it was a huge motivator. Lack of fruit and bread is the hardest for me too on keto.

I have had to bring in fruit because diabetes meds and LC diet has caused severe issues and leaves me jammed up unbearably badly.
Have taken to 1oz of dried apricots/dried apple rings and because of severe cramps in my legs I buy Sainsbury's kids-size fairtrade bananas and alternate with apple slices with some sort of nut butter. So long as I have one of those options a day as a snack, I adjust the rest of my LC accordingly.

I am working on strict keto, 20 carbs or less because I am hopeful for all the health benefit of living in ketosis. my specialist told me it takes 18month for the body to replace all cells.. I want to give my body that 18 month of being in Ketosis to heal.. side affect of cancer treatment is rough on the body..
as for fruits, I have been eating blackberries fresh sun kiss on the prickly vines.. I finally looked up the macros. LOL
I was shocked, 15 carbs and 7 g of sugar for 1/2 cup.. to me that seems insane! which knocked me out of ketosis, oh well, it is what it is, how can you resist fresh berries or veg.. it has been a challenge
My body isn't handling the fiber either, at all! ! !

I have been researching what maintenance is going to look like and what will my body needs be

@cherie8525 If you are looking for fiber, you might try 1 Tbsp chia seeds soaked in a cup of water for an hour or so, drink it down once a day. It is 0 carbs but good fiber. Keeps me happy and regular! ;) I also mix in some apple cider vinegar and cinnamon to liven things up... lol.

@camtosh Currently avoiding fiber, my body is having a hard time with the side affects. Ty for suggestion, I have heard about the chia seeds a few times. Fiber bulks the out put and that is where I have issues.. Flip side of anal cancer and the cure did damage

I eat fruit that is in season, not a lot of it, servings of 100g max. We have raspberries and apples growing in our garden, I eat those in season along with limes and lemons. Working on year 6 of keto/lchf WOE, maintenance for 5 yrs.

    Good chart on this https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/fruits

I eschewed most fruit for many years, but recently, I've been allowing myself a little bit of fruit here and there - some of which would not be considered LC or Keto friendly. I keep those little boxes of raisins in the house because I occasionally get a craving for them. I like the fact that they are already portioned out.

I also love Rhubarb which is technically a vegetable, not a fruit. But I have to be careful to keep the amounts small where it is concerned.

I recently made homemade LC Luxardo cherries (the "original Maraschino Cherry") - found the LC recipe online. They are outrageously good but very boozy because you are basically soaking them in an allulose / alcoholic syrup (pickling them?).

This past Sunday, for dinner we all had LC banana split sundaes. The only thing that wasn't truly low carb in the sundaes were the bananas and the cherries. We used some of the Luxardo cherries to top the sundaes with (they are so rich - it's difficult to eat more than a few). But everything else was LC - Rebel Ice Cream (multiple flavors), ChocZero Syrup (multiple flavors), Tru Whip Keto Whipped Topping (think Whipped Cream just packaged like Cool Whip), a few spoonfuls of chopped peanuts et voila - LC banana split sundaes.

There are certain kinds of fruit that I personally love - but that my body does not. For example - apples. I love them. My body hates them. I do my best to stay away from them but I'm not always successful at it. My body seems to tolerate small amounts of berries okay though so that's good.

With respect to fruit and/or fiber - I think it varies greatly from person to person. It really boils down to listening to your body and figuring out what it's telling you about the things you are eating.
