September is quickly coming to an end... and we've had another terrific month in the UAC!
49 new people signed up for the UAC in September. 8 of those newbies are still posting by the 28th day of the month. We're SO GLAD that y'all have stuck with it!
And our @bradkcrew, who was a newbie in August, has now completed both Aug and Sep with 0 Pass Days!!!!
Huge Kudos to YOU!
I believe that we have 4 people who are finishing the month of September having used 0 Pass Days!!
What a HUGE accomplishment!!

Oh!! and @victorious55 had 27 nut free days this month! Whoo Hoo!!
I hope that everyone will come back for October..... we've got the holidays coming up fast - and many of us still need to buckle down and get our habits firmed up before the holidays get here!
And of course please don't forget to comment and say something nice about what the UAC means to you in the challenges board post for our October group.

I'm looking forward to October but did want to peek back at how September stacked up against my original plans. Based on my Sept. 1 post here is how things went this month (assuming I pass all of my requirements today, of course):
New Challenges for September:
ποΈββοΈ 3+ Strength Sessions in Last 7 Days - (24 of 30 days) The intent here was to avoid missing strength days, and I am very happy with the result. I completed 12 strength workouts and had 13 scheduled. Technically I missed 2 of them, but made up for a missed Friday workout with a different strength workout on Saturday. Because of how this was measured though, I scored a miss on 6 days due to those 2 missed days. So while the intent of this goal worked, the measurement did not reflect how successful things really were.
π£ 17k+ Steps - (29 of 30 days) After surprising myself with over 640k steps in August I challenged myself to repeat again in September, with this metric being what would ensure I get there. I surpassed 640k steps yesterday, hitting that goal, despite taking one day off of walking!
πΆββοΈ 7 Day Avg. 7.5+ Walking Miles - (30 of 30 days) Similar to steps, this was to try and surpass 240 miles again in September after getting that much in August. It worked, even with a full day off on Saturday 9/25!
New exercise - Evening Walk?
Nope. I tried this early on but there were 2 big problems. It was too disruptive to my overall schedule. And even with reduced overall mileage, having a 3rd daily walk seemed to aggravate my plantar fasciitis. So this exercise did not stick, and will not be returning soon.
Challenges that went on "mute" in September
I stopped tracking these in my UAC daily posts, but still monitored them. I have done very well on all of them except that last one "Eating back fewer than 30% exercise calories", for which I am now allowing to eat back half of my exercise calories, and have done fine keeping things in that new zone. So I am comfortable with these and will keep them on "mute" in October as well.- Net Carbs 30g or less
- Protein 180g or higher
- 5+ Fruits/Veggies
- Eat back fewer than 30% of Exercise Calories
I'm really looking forward to October. I am planning on some changes which I will share in my Oct. 1 post.9 -
September 30, 2021
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, strength training EPIC III.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Kitchen Closed? Yes
Did you go "nuts" with nuts today? No (28 days-free )
(I go "nuts" with nuts most times, trying to continue a good habit this month. Counting the number of "nuts" free days.) I am still learning a lot about myself in this area!
Pass day 0/3 (this is for accountability to myself and my records).6 -

It is nice to be able to peek back at September and use the knowledge to move forward. That is what I am doing today!4 -
@victorious55 how does EPIC III compare with the original? Harder, different or ??? I thought that EPIC Heat was shorter for people with time constraints.
My plan is to follow her original schedule which is posted under Community on her YouTube channel. I didn't realize that was there until about a week ago. She does some one week programs in between the various EPIC programs. That should keep me in new/fresh workouts for the next year.3 -

Just completed my Habit Tracker for September. (I used rainbow colours as they look very decorative). My new habit for the month was to write in my journal for > 10 minutes each day. Many days I wrote much more. π9 -

If you've done the EPIC Heat then the EPIC III is a the same/simpler but roughly 5 to10 minutes longer. I wanted to continue because I am getting used to the routine and I like it. I may likely repeat EPIC Heat after this because of December activities.2 -
Yes & Yes & Yes- - -2 pass days taken
I am so pleased to have reestablished those good habits. I have to take October off, but look forward to participating again in November.
Congrats to ALL the winners, and a hearty well done!
And to all the pluggers, good on you for sticking in there, you did not fail.

What a month I am very close to my first goal weight in the 150βs I hope to get to almost the high 140βs in October but if I donβt succeed I will still be happy when I started this journey using the Lose it app which I still utilize I was really up there today I am down almost 50lbs if I can do it so can you my trick? Do not give up find what works for you and stay with it remember itβs a lifestyle change NOT a diet.
Walked at lunch 2.49 miles the most in 51 minutes tracked and logged.6 -

I have also upped my exercise from just walking to include some weights, stretch bands and ball exercises which I plan to continue into October.
Bring on October ... which (hopefully) for me, means warmer weather (although it's raining today lol) but we are in the middle of spring here down under, so looking forward to bike rides and walking in the sunshine.7 -

β β β Exercise today was a 20 minute walk after I got home. I worked both jobs today and gave 2 hours of massages tonight. This week has been Employee Appreciation week at my day job, and all they have done is give us food and snacks and treats every single day this week. It's sad, really. Why don't they give out fruit? Or coupons for the cafeteria so that I could go down and get something a little more healthy? Anyhoo, they gave me a coupon for hubby and I to have dinner at Barrel & Boar (restaurant) which we will go to tomorrow night. They are also having drive in movie night in the parking lot of our building. It should be interesting, and hubby and I are going to make a date night out of it! (The movie is F9).
Pass Days Used: Too many. But I'm still a Champion!
It's great to see how well everyone has done this month! As long as you're still here and still logging, you're a Winner in my book!6 -
Congratulations to our Winner's Circle!!
I close out this month with 4 pass days. I feel good about the month.
For the last 5 months, both my wife, Rose and I, have been overwhelmed with getting our home and farm ready for sale. Despite having less than 2 weeks left before our move, we are on the downhill run. We have not procrastinated and we have had lots of help from our daughter, Diana and lots of friends. It's been very difficult and emotional to be saying a daily and progressive good-bye. Nonetheless, both of us are relieved to be near the end of this part of our life transition.
I almost forgot...it is a 3 yes day.10 -
Yes x 3 on this last day of September - we made it!!
I am coming back to UAC for you October. Tracking is still a chore for me but I did it everyday last month. Gonna just keep going.
Thanks to this entire group for the fellowship and support as we continue to chip away at it.6 -

Congratulations to all winners and champions, and to everyone for taking on this challenge and striving to make personal progress. Everyone gete is a winner.
Today was a new federal statutory holiday in Canada - The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. I walked 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) today in honour of the 751 unmarked graves found using ground-penetrating radar this summer near the site of the Marieval Indian Residential School.
It was a sombre day, and an opportunity for reflection and mourning for all the children who died, and for those who survived. The multi-generational trauma that this genocide has left is Canadaβs shame.

Struggled with calories this month for a number of reasons, but itβs also our hottest month & often my highest weight of the year.
Oct thru Dec are often when I can lose the most easily. I just have a couple of pounds to lose. October 1st is my re-start.
A fabulous, memorable day with my beloved Dad today. One I will remember for the rest of my life. His love for me & mine for him have always been strong, but today even more so. I am SO lucky to have had him for the past 65-1/2 years. β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Congratulations to everyone for fighting the hard fight - whether you are in the Winnerβs Circle or not. Iβm grateful to have you in my life
@RangerRickL Thank you for your good wishes on my tinnitus & your message when you are so busy. I miss you (how could I not after 3-1/2 years?) but know you are doing exactly what you need to do!
I canβt imagine the physical effort and the logistics on top of the emotions. Iβm glad you are at the 14-day countdown!! I want to thank you (& @SModa61) for sharing your stories. You have both motivated me to tackle our last category of photos, sentimental items, & precious papers. Thank you!
See you all in October!!
