What's the best collagen powder supplement to take on a Keto lifestyle?

I don't know about the best but I use Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides ... I use it in my coffee and in my smoothies .. I get the unflavored kind ...You can get it almost anywhere .. Walmart... Target... Etc. I just restarted Keto yesterday ..Best of luck to you Gina1

Do you have recipes for Keto pumpkin bars? I was a little disappointed in the pumpkin muffins with cream cheese frosting I made recently. I did, however, manage to eat them all, sharing only 2. ROTFL Did I tell you already that I've had daily migraines since I was 16 (more than 50 years now)? They're not nearly as bad as they used to be. (I wouldn't even call them migraines anymore.) I'm seeing a neurologist this Wednesday, so I'm hoping for more improvement as I still have daily headaches.2

I just wanted to chime in that I also use Vital Proteins. I get mine at Costco and the savings alone on that pay for the membership fee. I get the 24oz can which is usually around $30-$32 in store which is already a great price, but occasionally it goes on sale for $20-$22 and that is when I stock up.

Hello. Wondering what made you feel the need to supplement this. Not saying you shouldn't.. it's just that this is pretty detailed, way beyond general health.
I find this interesting.. everyone does the calories, macros, maybe micros, but then you get people talking about Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratios, and individual proteins, amino acids, and supplements, that most people never get to.
I think collagen applies to that deep into the details. So I am interested if you saw a video, or your doctor made a suggestion, or you read a study, and felt this was good for you.
I'm on Carnivore, and I've heard it spoken of more often among others on my low carb plan, and I could Google it, but wondering what sparked you to start taking this, and what exactly is it supposed to do for you.
If you don't want to answer, I'll understand. I think I'll eventually get to it watching videos, and reading stuff, but figured since you already do take it, you would know what it's about, and explain why maybe I should take it.0 -

Ironically, collagen was big in the 80s/90s and has seemingly made a comeback but mainly in the keto community. Overall, it has fairly lackluster results based on the evidence.1 -
I have been supplementing with a scoop of collagen in my morning coffee most days for the past few years, and I notice a big improvement in my nail and hair growth. I am in my 60s and postmenopausal, it seems to have helped me improve my protein uptake. I know collagen is not a complete protein, but it helps me. I am trying to take in more protein overall, as recommended for older women by many online sources, such as Diet Doctor etc. Younger men, body builders, etc., might benefit more from other sources of protein? YMMV.
Brands I have used are Vital Collagen, bought from Costco, and this from iHerb: California Gold Nutrition, CollagenUP, Marine Hydrolyzed Collagen + Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C, Unflavored. Both blend easily and have no aftertaste.2 -
I take collagen because it helps with my carpal tunnel...I had no idea it was a common keto supplement, so that's interesting to me.2

I'm interested, because my family has a history of psoriasis. I do not have it yet, but my brother does, but I want healthier looking skin. I've been on Carnivore for 30 days now, so maybe I get enough through diet?? I eat close to 300 g of protein. Some must be some collagen. At 47, I supposedly am losing some through aging, so worried about skin and bone health, but as someone with congestive heart failure.. any benefit from heart health might be good as well.
Just not sure if I need more, or want to supplement, but I am considering it. I feel I am doing the basics very well, so looking to study health through diet more, and see if I can do more in areas I have not thought of, since my focus has been weight loss, and disease mgmt. for good reason.

The protein referenced in support of older people and those losing weight are complete proteins or a combination of proteins together to make them complete. The benefits come from muscle protein synthesis/protein turnover since amino acids don't really have a storage mechanism. Things like meat, dairy, and fish should be a primary source.2 -
I'm not keto anymore but I have used Sports Research chocolate collagen peptides for years including the years I was keto. I use it because I take methotrexate for RA and I think the collagen supplement seems to counteract some of the hair loss that is a side effect of that. I know of no science proving it just my observation that I seem to shed a lot more when I forgot to reorder my collagen. I figure even if it doesn't really do anything it's low calorie, low carb, and it tastes good.1

Why I'm taking collagen supplements? I'd been losing a lot of hair. It's working. New hair is growing in.2
