I am really glad you posted this because it can be awkward to talk about! While I didn't reach my goal weight, when I started out here back in 2015 I looked forward to looking much better on top of feeling better overall. I got down to 188ish at one point - and I was disappointed - because I still had trouble spots that I seriously thought would go away by then. I also did NOT drop a size. I was always an XL no matter what I did. This is part of the reason I regained, I'm pretty sure... I just expected being able to fit into my old winter coat and such that I used to fit. Hard to believe I once did. I am always thinking how much does it take to drop one size? Just one? Now I have to re-lose and get back there and keep losing to find out. Frustrating, but never give up!
Oh that's comforting to know! I kept reading about people dropping sizes, and I'm here thinking "crap, some size L tops are still TOO TIGHT, 79 pounds later. Am I a freak or what???" It was very discouraging!
I have finally gone from size 18 to size 12 pants and those size 12s need a belt. Honestly, I was pretty disappointed in my appearance all the way along. There appeared to be very little improvement until maybe just lately. I think I am finally starting to look better. I suspect that many of us are just too critical of ourselves. When will I stop thinking of myself as being fat, i wonder? I probably need to have my head examined (literally!)
But thank you eveybody for sharing your stories! I live alone, without much of a support system, so I appreciate your replies more than you know.

I'm really pleased with this weeks loss but I'm really bad at consistency so that's my aim for this week.
I've had a stressful week as I do a lot of care for my elderly mum and she's had a difficult time healthwise so I haven't had time or energy to overeat so going to keep the focus on my eating but also to find time for myself. I do enjoy gardening, particularly growing plants from seed so going to get out and tidy the garden at the weekend and do some seed sowing for my hardy annuals - besides it's hard to snaffle with muddy hands!
Hope everyone's had a great week.
WOW! AWESOME LOSS!!! Good for you!

Weigh In Day: Friday
PW (Previous Weight): 371.6
CW (Current Weight): 370.8
This week’s loss: 0.8
Total LTD (Loss to Date): 51.4
Quick About Me: (Since I didn’t have time the other day)
I am 41 and I live in south central Pennsylvania (5 minutes from the Maryland line) with my husband, 12 year old step-son, our 3 cats, and 2 dogs. I teach elementary music and I am the President of my county’s education association; both of which keep me quite busy this time of year.
Weight-wise, I have been overweight/obese my whole life. I have made many attempts at weight loss over the years. Twice I managed to lose 50lbs, once in my early 20s and again in 2016/2017. In 2018 I met my husband and slowly gained my weight back again.
Then in 2020 gained an extra 19 pounds on top of that during COVID hitting my all time high a year ago.
I seem to have an unfortunate pattern of letting life transitions distract me from my goals.
It is never intentional, just a thousand “little quits” here and there that lead to weight regain and complete abandonment of my healthy habits.
This time I am determined to break that cycle. And I can see progress in that area because I have had many set backs over the past year, but I haven’t quit!!! Weight loss happens much slower and is trickier after 40 (so any of young adults out there reading this…do.it. now.)
I don't find time to post nearly as often as I'd like too...but I will try to pop in this weekend.
Be well everyone.

Ugh. I deserve every one of those pounds. Too many bad choices this week. I must recommit to my plan and do better.7 -
Good morning everyone!!!!
Intro:
I am 36 years old. Mother of 3 teenagers which drive me up the wall but love sooooo much. Been with my high school sweetheart for 20 years and married for 17. I love nature, baking, reading, napping, spending time with my family, and strength training. (Love kettlebells!) Don't remember what month I joined this group but it has really kept me accountable and helped me not to give up. This group helps me push myself. Currently going to PT for a knee/ankle injury; can't exercise the way I want to. (Those kettlebells keep starring at me. )

Goal for October: To reach 270 lbs.
This week was my best week! Spent time with my mother last week. She's very observant. She looked at me and asked if I lost weight. This made me so happy. One of the therapists looked at me last week and said, "Did you lose some weight? You look like you lost some weight." Don't know which one made me happier. Oh, and I am now wearing a size 2XL leggings! (Down from a 3XL) My bat wings need to shrink a little bit more. The 2XL shirts fit well everywhere else but are a bit tight around the arms.
I see some people are using the Happy Scale app. This app is very motivating. I like how the goals are set up. It's not overwhelming. Guess I have to sit down and really go over it. All I do is punch my weight in, see what the next goal date is and go about my business. Don't pay attention to anything else.
Have a good day everyone!!!!!

This resonates with me so much " a thousand little quits" - this has been me so so often but like us all here I'm not quitting! Congratulations on this week's loss and a metaphoric thousand more!3 -

Please refrain from using the “INSIGHTFUL” button on posts containing weigh ins. This button is used by captains and mods to determine if a weigh in has been posted to the spreadsheet. Feel free to use on any other post.
Please be cognizant of the usage of the “DISAGREE” button. I believe it has been accidentally used, but resulted in hurt feelings.4 -

This loss was not done in a healthy way. I have been dealing with some emotional garbage and it manifested in loss of appetite.
I will likely show a gain next week if my appetite returns.9 -
A couple months ago I shared with y’all that I have been struggling with my sobriety.
I was sober for a year just by my own willpower. I picked up a drink again and didn’t sit it down for 4 months! I finally asked for help and started going to Alcoholics Anonymous.
Today, I received my 60 day coin. I am proud of my sobriety. I am proud of the growth I have made. I am proud of ME!12 -
It has been a while since I posted a progress pic. Before was about 242… second pic was this morning.10 -
