@donna25trinity - thanks for reposting these wise words. I’m sitting here, drinking my coffee, grumbling about how dark it is outside, but I slapped a smile on my face and it DOES feel better. Thanks.7 -

Many of you know that I struggle with a partner who has Alzheimer's disease. His problems and his stubborn behaviour often trigger me into irritation, depression, comfort eating and drinking. I try and control it, have a supportive therapist and network, but it's not always easy. He's had a lot of problems recently, one of them a fall, where he damaged his leg quite badly. It's mainly his bloodthinning medication that made it bad - most people would only have had some bruising. However, the effect of the fall seems to have changed his difficult behaviour somehow, and also my response to him: I have started to see him as quite a pitiful old man - he's 75 but he walks more like an 85-year-old. I now feel pity rather than irritation, and I think these changed feelings towards him will help me, our relationship, and my relationship to myself. Does this make sense? Trying to get back on track again.
Took him out for a concert and lunch after, which he seemed to enjoy immensely, and I managed to stay under calories for the lunch!13 -

@Chinkiri I think you have a lot on your plate and I am happy that you are feeling better about the situation and also are better able to manage it. *Hugs*
@stella7x7 Lovely new profile pic!
This post is very relevant for me. A lot of my journey this year has been about why I self sabotage, CBT, stopping negative thoughts, and recently focusing on the power of positivity. One of the things I've been actively practicing is whenever I feel my face settling into a frown, I smile. I've been doing this for about 2 months now. I just commented to a friend today that thanks to practicing the power of positivity, October has been a really good month. I'm happier, more peaceful and less anxious. My self talk is much more kind. I've also been able to stick to the diet plan.

This topic is so true. It helps to make things a lot better. It's interesting how we can literally choose how we ultimately feel. Some times can be more difficult than others to overcome, but smiles can be found even amidst very hard times. It's a wise move to seek those out.5 -
Oct 23:
✅✅✅ exercise today was a 10 mile walk. It was a little too cold for ice cream tho - that's a bummer. I'll have to make sure I have one in the freezer for when I get home from my walks for the colder months! #icecreamwalk .

Pass day number 2.
I was sick so I didn't do any exercise or tracked my intake since I couldn't really be bothered to measure everything, my bed was calling out to me and I didn't want to spend more time in the kitchen than necessary (though thanks to nausea it's safe to say I didn't eat enough).6 -

✅ Exercise: 70 minutes of swimming
✅ Tracked
Calories: Was a fail. Pass day. 174 calories over for trying a new recipe for Creamy Tuscan Chicken for supper tonight and not logging it first-- should have anticipated a recipe with cup of cream and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese can wreck a diet plan fast. It tasted really good but even my husband agreed the recipe is not healthy enough to save.
