Recommitting to keto - and here's why:

Hi there
In December 2020 a blood test showed that my ALT liver enzymes were at 46 U/L - this was a really nasty surprise at the time. Sooooo I went back to the keto WOE and now my enzymes are down to 20 U/L (October 2021). I'm out of the danger zone!! Woo hoo - I'm delighted.
I had fallen off the keto wagon for a few months since leaving my last job - and I really haven't quite got back in to a healthy routine. A good bit of the weight I lost came back on however not all of it so I'm still ahead!
Over the last fortnight I have been upping the fat in my food and avoiding carbs - today is the first day I have tracked on MFP for a few months so it's a bit of a reboot. In preparation I've done all the stages of cleaning out my cupboards/fridge/freezer of all carbs (healthy or not). Sigh - carbs are not healthy for me.
So high ho high ho - it's back on the keto way I go.
I had amazing LCHF success a few years ago with 'Diabetes, No Thanks! (Scandinavian Diet)' by Lars-Erik Litsfeldt. I also love Anyway You Can by Dr Annette Bosworth (Dr Boz) who goes through the science in a methodical but really approachable & personal way.
But this is about so much more than 'dieting' - it's about relaunching and reinvigorating my whole life.
To this end I'm also reading 'The Last Diet: Discover the Secret to Losing Weight' by Shahroo Izadi. This isn't about the WOE aspects - more about the emotional whys and psychological aspects.
I'd love to know what's inspiring and motivating other LCHFers.
Maria

New to Keto WOE since May 2021. Of all the W'sOE I have done for over 45 years Keto is the easiest and showing the most results for me ever. Lost enough, fast enough to be able to start exercising on my Elliptical again. Even after a very bad leg fracture in 2015 with lots of metal in my leg from it.3
