I'd like to let everyone know that the wonderful Teresa Wilson @TeresaW1020 is stepping down as Moderator after a wonderful term of service. She has kept the home page looking great, made sure we run all kinds of great challenges, fixed up our graphics, and kept the habit tracker going, among many other things. We will miss her as Moderator, but she will still be Captain of Team Mission Slimpossible and invaluable member of our community. Thanks Teresa! It has been a pleasure working with you5

I realize I just got on board, but for October I had a plan - so I have the stats. I think I will officially join November? IDK. Sorry, this is my first time being part of a "competition" and I am very new to the idea. Honestly, I don't think I would be this organized except I had an MFP friend who had similar stats and was trying to lose 4 lbs a month - and I kind of copied and pasted 4 months ago and have continued using that template. In September I hit a weird state where I thought maybe I wouldn't be losing as fast which is why in October I was thinking 3 lbs. But I kind of stepped up, literally, in the walking department. I think that helped considerably with this months loss.

Total loss since 1/1/21 - 61.8 lbs
It's been a wild week! I came down with a head cold on Sunday that included a fever for 3 days. Not only did my temperature fluctuate a lot, But my weight did too. At one point in the week I weighed in at 236.6!
I am very happy to have my middle number drop again. I am cautiously optimistic that it holds over the next couple days. My goal at the beginning of October was to start November under 240.
Happy Halloween!4 -

Combination of PMS and my brother and little nephew unexpectedly staying over for a few days has meant I've eaten a lot of rubbish and it shows. New day new start tomorrow.4 -
Hello team.
I'm 72, retired, 6'1", ~231 lbs (down from 330, July 10th, 2020).
I would like to lose another 10-20 pounds, but if not, I'm okay where I am. I have been exercising a lot, and doing fairly well diet wise (although I have been enjoying more treats, after a year of denial). Still my weight has been very much the same (up and down) for several months. So I'm struggling to find a combination of diet and exercise I can live with long term, as I don't really want to be exercising 3+ hours a day nor do I want too restrictive a diet.
I'll spare you the story of how I got where I am now, from where I was (at a point where a walk around the block was barely doable), and instead just tell you my current exercise routine:- My calorie limit is set to 1830, and I try to eat that plus no more than half the extra calories burned through exercise (I'm still trying to find exactly what that percentage should be, as I know it's not 100%).
- I swim around 1800-2200 yards most days (swimming had been my #1 activity for weight loss).
- I do an hour of water aerobics five times a week.
- I do an hour of Silver Sneakers aerobics twice a week.
- I'm working up to doing a couple hours of yoga and a couple hours of strength training a week.
- I walk 2-3 miles a day.
- I joined a Garmin Step Challenge: 300,000 steps in October (& completed that this past Monday). I'm going to try to continue getting in around 10,000 steps a day.
- I intend to start doing tai chi again soon (I did it for 3-4 months ~5 years ago, and really enjoyed it).
I guess that's it for now.6 -

The Habit Tracker will continue! She just won't be the one posting it for us any more. I'll do it for now - no worries!4 -

We went down to Houston last weekend to spend time with our daughter so we ate out nearly every meal. Then this week was stressful as I was cleaning and getting ready for my sister-in-love to arrive for a wedding. We’ve eaten nearly every meal out this week as well. The gym was closed last week because the trainer was ill so this week’s workouts were exceptionally tiring and I’ve been quite sore. All to say: it could have been much worse.
I had my first shingles vax two weeks ago today, and I noticed yesterday that my arm is still bruised! Also, it really caused by blood glucose numbers to jump for the first three days after the shot. Numbers are back within range but I wonder how that will impact my upcoming A1c test?
And of course tomorrow is Halloween. I bought candy but won’t open it til tomorrow evening. Hopefully we can give it all alway. If not, I will freeze a few of my favorites (I’m looking at you, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.) and toss the rest.3 -
@hipari Congratulations on your new bundle of joy! Give yourself grace to allow your body time to heal. It’s so different for each pregnancy but it could take a year to get back to your old self. Rest every chance you get and take time to pamper yourself. And enjoy all those squishy cuddles-they get big so quickly!2

Hi everyone! Can't believe its the end of October!!! Well, I did not reach my goal and that's okay. That will be my goal for November. (Get out of the 270s)

Something I noticed. For the last two-three years each August I wrote down a weight loss plan. The numbers were similar. This made me more determined to lose weight. Baby steps.
Have a good day everyone!3 -

I don’t even remember last week..
I was 183.0 this morning
@jugar - I recorded it.
As for the new job…. My interview with the national VP went well and I had an offer the next day!!! After batting things around with them, I accepted the offer on Thursday.
Today I built a desk for my new office as I will be telecommuting at least half of the time. I have decided when couples wish to marry they should skip counseling and be forced to build an entire house of IKEA furniture. If they can survive this - they will be fine🤣🤣
One great benefit of my new company - there is a health club on site. Also, at the company cafeteria, if you elect the ‘healthy option’ for lunch the company provides a 50% subsidy! Employee break rooms have fresh fruit - just far different from anywhere I’ve worked before!!!! I’m very excited.12 -

@Beka3695 congratulations! Your new job sounds so exciting! Did you get a standing desk? I know it might be a bit too late, but Ikea has great electric adjustable desks so it’s easy to switch between sitting, standing, sitting on an exercise ball and whatever else you might wanna try.1
