Here is your Team chat room for November 2021. This is where you weigh in every week, post your goals and progress, discuss any issues or topics of interest, share ideas, support your teammates, receive help when you need it, and dream big. Try to post often, and help each other succeed!

We have six great teams. The group and team leaders are as follows:

Our Moderators:
Liselyn - @jugar

Ashley - @minstrelofsarcasm

Our Team Captains:
Downsizers - @lindamtuck2018 and @Megan_smartiepants1970
Mission Slimpossibles - @broncobuddee and @TeresaW1020
Trimstones - @jessicakrall8
Weight No More - @minstrelofsarcasm and @melaniedscott
WaistAways - @jugar and @ashleycarole86
Shrinking Assets - @Beka3695 and @TheMrWobbly

Our Team Motivators:

Mission Slimpossibles - @katmary71 and @trooworld
Trimstones - @angmarie28
Weight No More - @rachelrjh
WaistAways - @conleywoods
Shrinking Assets - open

HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!

We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!

To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:

Username
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):

If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally.

Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!

In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.

Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Hello everyone!!! Welcome to our new members - and welcome back returning members!! I am so glad you are all here! :)

I am Teresa one of your Mission Slimpossibles captains along with Mark (@broncobuddee) The Mission Slimpossibles also have two wonderful motivators, @trooworld and @Katmary71, who help keep our team supported and chatty!

:star: Stuff you need to know! :star:

    1)Weekly Weigh-In
PLEASE read the opening post so that you know the format to use when recording your weekly weight. Our team captain, @broncobuddee will be putting your weight into the spreadsheet so please tag him if you need to move your weigh-in day or have other weight logging questions. Also please feel free to post your all-time losses as well and that way we can celebrate with you when you hit a big milestone.

    2) Check-ins
Along with our weekly weigh-ins, we REALLY encourage our team members to participate in regular check-ins. It’s a great way to stay accountable to yourself and it allows the team to cheer you on and offer support as you need it. We are a community, and we are stronger together!

    3) Habit Tracker & Challenges
For added help in your health journey make sure to take advantage of our monthly Habit Tracker and weekly/monthly challenges that you will find on our Home Page. Tracking our habits and doing the challenges will keep you mindful of your choices and help keep you motivated.

:star:Finally, let's get to know each other! Please share your name, where you live, and what brought you here to The Fat 2 Fit Challenge Group. If you have specific goals for this year, please share those as well. We are here to support and cheer you on! :)

I’ll go ahead with my introduction

As I said above, my name is Teresa! I’m 55, live in Georgia with my incredible husband, my mom, and our fur baby Maggie Mae. I am the ministry assistant for my small church and a volunteer teacher in our children’s ministry.

I’ve been striving for a healthy weight for most of my life and getting closer every day, but the struggle is real and ongoing. My primary diet is low carb and I’m involved in something called Data Driven Fasting that is run by Marty Kendall of Optimising Nutrition. You can Google if interested and please feel free to ask me.
I also enjoy working out and doing Beachbody on Demand programs and I walk on my treadmill. For fun, I love to do jigsaw puzzles, listen to music, watch TV, and play with my dog.
As your captain, I promise to remain available and supportive! This group means so much to me as does the success of each one of you. Please feel free to add me as a friend and message me any time. <3

    OK…your turn to share! :)

@Katmary71 You are most welcome! Thanks, it should be fun! :) I'm sorry about you not being able to go to your aunt's party. Carving pumpkins with the nephews sounds fun. That's fun that you worked out to scary music.

@TeresaW1020 I'm so very sorry about your husband. I hope he recovers quickly.

@stanlfink Congrats on the loss! What a great way to start off. I think COVID really messed with a lot of people/is messing with a lot of people. You are in good company!

@krea4 That's great that you figured out your triggers. You made some good progress! And congrats on finishing the month strong. :D

Hello all. I will go ahead and do my introduction. I am one of the Slimpossibles' Team Motivators. I live in southern California with my husband. I'm originally from the midwest, specifically Ohio. I was on WW for many, many years but recently decided I had gained all I could from that program so now, I am counting calories. I hate to exercise but we have recently purchased a Tonal, which is an in-home gym system using magnetic weights and tension. On it, you can do pretty much all the exercises you would do at a gym and I absolutely love it. I spend what little spare time I have reading, doing artwork and photography, and watching movies. I also love to cook and have over 6,000 recipes, pretty much anything you'd want, so if you need recipes, please let me know. I'm happy to post them!

Saturday check-in: I was expecting a gain this morning as I went to Colorado to visit my best friend last weekend so when I saw a loss, I was incredibly grateful. I have a lot to do today/tonight: I am having a mini-Halloween party tonight. It will be me and my husband and my sister-in-law. We will be in costumes watching scary movies and eating appetizers. We will have "Vampire's Kiss Martinis". It should be really fun. Here's a picture of one of the appetizers I am making:

    Hi everyone

Newbie here - my name is Rita and I live in the small village of Hoo in Kent, U.K. I live with my hubby of nearly 50 years, have two wonderful grown up kids and three beautiful granddaughters.

Have battled with my weight ‘forever’ and have continually yo-yo’d up and down with the pounds - but never permanently give up aiming for that elusive goal LOL.

I love walking and since the pandemic have worked out along with U-tube videos. I’m not a fan of flex or strength exercises as I get bored quickly.

So my first check in (30 October)

@RYcare Welcome back! You've got this.

@Rigibann Welcome to the team! :D Walking is great exercise. What kind of YouTube exercise do you like to do? Have you ever done any Leslie Sansone walking YouTube videos? Those are great.

@Firefly743 @bgame4 Congrats on the losses!

@TheGlwUp Never give up, hang in there. You are doing great. This is just a blip on the graph of your weight loss journey.

@krea4 Wow, that's fantastic! What a great NSV. Congrats!

@Cornanda Wowee! Congratulations. That must feel great! Woo hoo! Thank you re: the headaches and the loss. ;)

Hello all. I had a great time last night. I didn't eat much, just one small appetizer plate of food. We had a drink called a Vampire's Kiss which was good. I'm going for a walk this morning with a friend, it should be nice. I need to eat something before I go because after the walk, I am donating blood. Here are some pics from last night.

@Cornanda @laurelfit57 @cherrymajoni @Firefly743 Woo hoo way to make the leaderboard!

    @laurelfit57 @tammymccrady6278 25 lbs down, wow, that's great!

@jwhitegarcia That sounds like a lot of activity!

@renaegry @krea4 Congrats on the losses.

@TeresaW1020 It was fun! Did you get a lot of trick or treaters? I'm glad your husband was released from the hospital. Hopefully the meds help him.

@Marmelade75689 Welcome to the team! I've also been fighting my weight for decades. It is getting old, time to conquer!

Hi all. I walked with my friend for an hour yesterday, it was a nice time walking by the lake. After that, I gave blood and then was wiped out so I took a nap. I didn't feel like cooking so we ordered poke bowls. They are pretty much the healthiest thing we can get delivered if I get it with lettuce instead of rice. Have a good day, all.

@krea4 Good job on doing so well with the CRAP challenge. Just try to stay mindful on the days when there isn’t a birthday and that will help balance it all out. :)

@Marmelade75689 Hi Marie! Welcome to the team. Being a part of an accountability and support group can be super helpful in your health journey. So, post often! ;)

@trooworld We had about 15 trick or treaters, so that was fun. I am super glad that he isn’t in the hospital as well.

Hi Team! Today has been a good day and hubby and I are both happy to be at home. He is feeling much better and will go to his primary tomorrow to have blood drawn to check his sodium. He hates not being able to drink coffee and can only have 6 cups of total fluids. He is used to drinking all day long. I’ve been stuck at my desk catching up on a ton of work. This is not a good time of year for me to be out of commission, but I’m mostly caught up now so I feel much more in control and on top of my to-do list.

Today is day 40 of the 100-day challenge to the New Year and my weight is up 4.6 lbs. Soooo I need to get it together and turn that around ASAP!! :# I’m back to eating on plan and I did a good workout this morning.

I’m Gabi from Northern VA, almost 50 yo, with a desk job and 15lb to goal. I have been in this group a little over a year and while I lost in the beginning, I soon relaxed and have been maintaining for many months.
My main form of exercise is walking with or without the dog, and tried lately to incorporate some stretches and light BWE while watching TV at night, to befriend said scale.
I love numbers and totally agree with CICO being the answer, and still find 1000 ways to complicate this simple formula.
Welcome to all new members and good luck!

@TeresaW1020 I like your new profile pic, btw! That's a nice amount of trick or treaters, not too many that you need to buy a bunch of candy. I'm glad your DH is feeling better. Wow, that's not a lot of fluids! I would hate to give up coffee, too. Is that permanent? Day 40...wow. I can't believe it, the time is flying!

Hello all. I did so-so yesterday but I did end up with a calorie deficit so that was good. I'm doing a workout this morning and then heading to work where I will probably do some physical labor for at least part of the day. It should be a pretty active day.

@trooworld - wow, your Halloween shindig looks amazing! Love your make up! How was your active day? We had ONE trick or treater! Thank you for the visual of how much weight I've lost. A tire! Love it!

@Rigibann @TeresaW1020 - I too thought of Dr Suess when I read the name of your town.

@Rigibann - my current favs on Youtube are HAS fit and C Dorner fitness. What are yours?

    @Marmelade75689 - welcome!

    @laurelfit57 @tammymccrady6278 - Congrats on 25!

@TeresaW1020 - Glad hubby is home, hope the sodium looks better today so he can have some coffee. I feel better when I catch up on work. Right now I'm horribly behind, and yet here I am posting instead of doing it. :p

I'm Lisa and I live in Florida with my husband. Our two kids are off at college most of the time. I'm 53, have struggled with my weight since young adulthood. This group has helped me learn some better habits and become a healthier me.

Kids were here this weekend for a birthday celebration and some cake plus "fun" eating is definitely showing on the scale this week. I'm getting my show back on the road today- got my exercise planned and some healthy meals for the rest of the week!

    My intro:

Hello to all the new teamies! I am a single mom of 3 adult children. My son, Marcus, is 26 and in the Navy, stationed in Virginia. My oldest daughter, Sydney, is 24 and lives with her husband, Nick, about an hour south of me, and my youngest daughter, Hunter, is 21 and is still at home with me. She has been vegan for almost 3 years. I recently adopted a sweet little rabbit and I named her Kismet. I love to rubber stamp (I’m a Stampin’ Up demo) and make cards. I'm an active member of my church (Board member), and also love horror movies and books. I have worked in Community Development at my County for almost 17 years. I initially went plant based vegan to lose weight and I lost about 50 pounds. As I went along, I learned more about the animal cruelty side of veganism and transitioned from vegan for my health to vegan for the animals. I then fell into the junk food/fast food/convenience food trap and currently have about 40 pounds to get rid of. I love being part of this team!

@TeresaW1020 I'm so glad your husband was released and the pills are helping him.

I'm just going to do my intro, I'm way behind! I'm Kathy, I'm 50 in live in the Sacramento area in CA with four cats and an ex-boyfriend. I'm a team motivator along with @trooworld though I haven't been as active as I should be in this group lately. I have multiple health challenges the most limiting being CRPS. I hit goal and gained a little less than half back with my health issues. I would like to get back to around 150 (165 now) but I'm not in a huge rush. I do chair cardio, stretching and weights. I just started doing squats and lunges again and haven't fallen over yet in 4 days, woohoo! I try to eat on the anti-inflammatory side. I read a lot, garden, then do some volunteering at the food bank farm and for a local group in this area.

Weekend visiting my daughter on the other coast was excellent with lots of talks, walks, laughs and … carry out.
Cold weather is finally starting in VA too, the south type of cold of course 😁, and I want to make it matter. It’s pretty annoying to be smack in the stereotypes: 50lb with pregnancy, less flexible or active with age, hurting here and there because I use them 2 times a year, etc. Off to start my battle now!
