Pass day #3 for today with at least a couple more to go. Way too early to tell right now. I was told that I can't lift anything over 20 pounds for two weeks though.
I will need to be a little creative this winter to help offset SAD as opposed to just "getting out there and exercising". 😁 I'm looking at the experience as a blessing in disguise because I can also do whatever I figure out in future years in addition to just getting out and exercising.12 -
Yes, yes and yes
Walking and stretching.
Finally... getting back to recording/being on track after a bumpy start to November. Too much traveling and trying to take care of everyone else except for myself. I am back home and now focusing on my own self care which is much needed.10 -
All three completed nice late afternoon walk hope for another one tomorrow.
As the days get longer I make every effort to get outside each day thank god for dogs! I can honestly say that the fall and winter months don’t bother me I just can get a bit grumpy waiting for spring in March. I make sure to go outside and exercise xc ski walk snowshoe even shovel gets my heart rate up and gives my skin some color.7 -

We often joke that in Ohio, there are very few sunny days from late Oct through April!! I still like to try to get outside, even if only briefly.8 -

I love love love the fall and September - December is possibly my favorite stretch of the year. I understand I am in the minority and kind of a weirdo for enjoying being cold and wearing 12 sweaters. Lol. Reading while bundled up and drinking hot cocoa sitting next to a window while it’s snowing outside and smelling something delicious is baking in the oven is heaven. All of that being said, I am a basically on a permanently vitamin d supplement which helps with the seasonal depression.
I decided I needed a pick me up and I’m going for the ring I had in sight for my 70# goal early. The idea of it makes me happy and therefore
I think it’s a good plan, and possibly a reminder to stay positive and that this too shall pass. It’s a Celtic design (below but with a different stone) with I think a green tourmaline - but I may be swayed on the stone depending on what surprises the jeweler has in stock. #ihavearingproblem

I am definitely one that gets the blues with the end of summer. I hate cold and snow, and am really affected by the diminished daylight. Motivation to exercise is going to get tougher. but I am determined to keep it up to some degree. I do try to focus on the unique aspects of fall, but I can't say the same for winter. Please someone, help me change my perspective!! LOL. @Jana_2020 Thanks for the reminder about the parade!

Exercise:
MFP says that the fitbit "told it" I had earned 134 exercise credits via 8438 steps vs my food intake. Two deliberate walks - one in the sunshine at lunchtime, one after supper (after dark)
Logged all:everything
Within goal:knew we were having the rest of the stew, so planned a lighter rest-of-the-day in advance, as I didn't know how many (if any) exercise credits I would manage. Actually earned some (see above) but didn't eat back any of them.
One of the reasons I love my mini-trampoline / wii walking game is that it is ALWAYS bright late spring on Rhythm Island (the "game world") with tulip fields and cherry trees in bloom. And as you collect "Magic Clock" pieces you can "set the level of daylight" to anything from sunrise to high noon (to middle of the night) as you prefer .... no matter WHAT the "local realworld daylight level outside the livingroom window" would be.

- Caroline Girvan: Day 2 of Complex Series (upper body workout + cool down) 45 mins
I seem to be taking a slight break from EPIC. I was busy today and didn't feel like I could give up an hour plus so I did this 40 minute workout plus cool down instead. And to be honest they've gotten pretty tough the last couple of weeks. Ms Girvan (EPIC creator) has a number of other 1-2 week mini programs as well as stand alone workouts. I know I've mentioned this before but there are always new people here.
Spring and autumn are my favorite months. I dislike summer (way too hot) and barely tolerate winter (I hate being cold). Unfortunately, when the weather cools I have more problems with my joints in general and knees specifically. Some winters I get sciatica pain in my hip though thankfully not lower back. I have been lucky that it has been dormant the last two winters. Hoping my luck continues this winter.
The nice thing about seasonal changes are that I can switch out the menu so now I'll be adding soups (ramen, pho, potato/kale, tortilla-less chicken, etc), chili and roasts with root vegetables to the menu which I don't typically do during the warmer months.5 -
The Autumn has always been my favourite. I used to live in LA and it was a welcomed relief from the heat of the summers and Halloween and NYE had always been my favourite holidays. Living in London it became a relief from my summer allergies and I’ve always been so crazy busy with work running up to Christmas I’ve always felt (since moving to the UK) that it just passes me by. @Jana_2020 you’ve inspired me with ideas to make the autumn special. Also now that I’m not working so much and we have a little one I really want to experience and savour Christmas and the run up to it.

I like the change of seasons here, especially as 'winter' doesn't get too 'wintery' here. Plenty of sunshine, snow once every 10 years or so, temperatures rarely below 0° and mostly around 10°. I like being able to cook different things, as the French are really into local, and therefore seasonal, fruit and vegetables. I am getting ready for soups and stews and roast root vegetables! There are more winter-like salads I can make, lots of different mushrooms around ...4

Yes x3
I've always loved autumn. I love the aesthetic of warm coats and hats. I love being able to have the gas fire in our living room on whilst sipping a hot cup of tea. I love going on walks in the cold with the beautiful leaves.5 -

3️⃣ Pass Days left
I look on Autumn/Winter as an opportunity to work on art/craft projects, and get caught up on reading.
We love getting wrapped up on those crisp sunny days, and walking, and cosying up on the the wet stormy days.
Happy to make the best of whatever comes along.
Great outlook!!! Xo1
