@YinxFed Oh, I am so sad for you guys. I loved seeing pictures of Eddie and I'm sure you have many sweet memories of the little darling. So sorry for your loss. Sending hugs.
@PlaneMonkey Good luck on your mother in law visit.2 -

Here's what I know for the Christmas season (so far):
Dec 1 - 15 year work anniversary dinner at a restaurant
Dec 3 - Night over in Canmore at the B&B we got married at
Dec 4 - Close family friends are having a Christmas party (appetizer type food)
Dec 8 - Work team Christmas party (pub food and drinks)
Dec 10 - Virtual company Christmas party (sending vouchers for food to be ordered to the house)
Dec 18 - Corporate box at Flames game
For Christmas, we have some out of town family coming in and all they can talk about so far is the FOOD! Then, the first week of January we go back to Manitoba to have a late Christmas celebration with my Dad. So, there will be multiple dinners over those couple of weeks.
Ok, that feels good to get out. Some of the above events have no reason to be difficult food wise (virtual Christmas party with food vouchers, for example). My main plan is to ensure on days that I don't have something that I'm not allowing extra food creep, that I keep up with high levels of exercise, and that I am mindful of my choices and track everything. I definitely want to enter Jan 1 lower than I weigh in on Dec 1 but I'm less concerned with how much given what we have to manage around.
Today I am getting my hair cut and tonight we are going to a new (to us) Korean restaurant with friends... going to check the menu now!5 -

Not terrible considering all the Thanksgiving gatherings and the fact I wasn't as active as I should have been.. ready to push through another week..4 -
Hi everyone
Weigh in. Sorry it’s late.
CW 199.2
That’s my actual Friday weight. My Wednesday before Thanksgiving weight was 198.2
I’m not feeling great. Not sure if it’s the different foods I’m not use to, some bug, exhaustion. Who knows? But not feeling myself. I had the worse heartburn ever last night. Scared me a little. Hopefully some good sleep will help me feel better.
@YinxFed I am so sorry to hear about sweet Edie. You gave her a great life. Hugs to you my friend.4 -
I like your list, @ashleycarole86 - that is going to help get things started! A calendar makes it both clear and less scary. I have dates that just got thrown into the shredder yesterday, so now I'm not sure what will be happening yet. I do know that my daughter and her boyfriend will be here December 12-18, and that there will be much celebrating (a birthday AND early Christmas), but now it looks like my trip to my dad's will happen later than I thought, and might involve me helping out with making dinner for a large group. And eating it. Once I know the dates, I'll make sure to map out the strict days vs the crazy days and hope for the best!
I might have had my last drive down "the hill" for 2021. We got more snow today (guess who is a happy camper!) and I decided not to drive back up after a trip to the grocery store this morning. My winter tires won't be on until Monday, so I might make it back up once they are on, but if it keeps snowing, the next trip up might not be until April. We'll see!

Just caught up on 4 pages of posts.
@YinxFed I'm so sorry to hear of Edie.
My eating has been wildly out of control and nonsensical. I'm feeling like today is the day that I rein it in. I prelogged last night before sleep - so I have a plan. @MandiSaysHey I too have a pair of pants that don't feel so comfortable ...it's a big motivator!
@jugar that snowy hill looks so peacefully quiet (although I can imagine for me, there'd be a lot of huffing and puffing to snowshoe up that hill).5 -

I had a wonderful long weekend. So much family fun, food, decorations, and games. I really don't want to go back tomorrow. This long break made me realize how stressful my job is this year and how much it is impacting my overall wellness. However, my diet needs the structure of a routine.
@yinxfed I am so sorry you had to put Edie down. Thinking of you.
@jugar that is beautiful. ☃️
@ashleycarole86 That sounds like a busy schedule. I am curious about the virtual Christmas party. That is nice that they are providing you with meal vouchers, but eating in front of a computer sounds a little awkward.3 -

And can I just say that I am so grateful for all of the wishes that so many of you have left following our beloved Edie's passing on Friday. I love this group.7 -
@YinxFed I'm sorry that you had to say goodbye to Edie. It's never easy to lose a much loved companion and friend.
I hope those of you celebrating Thanksgiving have had a wonderful holiday.
We have snow here too @jugar - I'm less pleased. Where we are cleared up pretty fast yesterday and the snow that's falling now isn't settling*, but back home was badly affected by the storm and my Mum/sister have been without power since 3am yesterday. Luckily my grandparents power came back on, so they went over there today. I ought to run this afternoon, but I'll probably do 30 minutes on the trampoline instead because it's bl00dy cold!
Went to London on Friday with Mum and the event we went to was pretty rubbish, so we did a lot of wandering instead. I was up at 4.30am, so I think we had lunch about 11am, pudding at 1.30pm in Covent Garden (I felt bad taking up a restaurant table and only ordering a drink), then tea in China Town. Got a lot of steps in! Yesterday we did a little shopping locally then pretty much vegged out in the afternoon/evening.

Tuesday I did the weights workout, and Thursday I had a half day at work but was busy getting the house ready for Mom's visit in the afternoon so another of those doing-a-lot-but-few-steps days.
This week I'm supposed to be going out on Wednesday evening to see Sarah Millican (comedian), then on Saturday I have a hair appointment back home and we'll see some family whilst we're there. Weather and covid permitting (there's concern in the UK about a new variant) of course, and otherwise it's looking like a quiet week.
*Got interrupted by a phone call mid-writing and now the snow is really settling and the cul de sac road is white!5 -
@DD265 I know what you mean about it being so cold! I work a couple of days a week in our local museum cafe which is an outside cafe. I worked yesterday, and although we didn't have snow, it was perishing (we all kept our wooly hats on)! Sorry to hear that the event you went to see in London turned out to be such a write off - but at least you got some things done. Covent Garden and China Town sound like fun.
@ashleycarole86 - here are my step and exercise stats for last week:

@Yinxfed Circling you up with hugs from Vermont. I have no doubt that your sweet Edie will visit you every so often to lean against your leg and let you know she loves you.
I've enjoyed catching up with everyone's posts. So many celebrations!
I hope you're feeling more yourself today, @micki48. Every time I start feeling tired or achy, paranoia kicks me into thinking the worst. I've spent a lot of the past week comfort-eating which is disappointing/frustrating/fill-in-the-blank-here.
I know I can't stay in that place for too long and expect good results! Generally, staying in that "lane" for too long leads me to the big "F-it" hole in the road which is a bit of a bottomless pit, isn't it?!
Rather than end up 10 pounds heavier tomorrow, I'm going to make some tea and read for a while to try and shift away from that dreadful road!
Have a great Sunday and early week. Big hugs to you all.

I can really relate to what you said about your job impacting your overall wellness. We took Thurs/Fri off and I am just SO happy when I'm not at work. I get that jobs have stress but I find mine has a lot of toxic stress and it's been a trigger for my bad habits in the past. Anyway, I don't work with little humans so your stress is certainly in a different class than mine but I just wanted to say that I feel for you for sure.
In terms of the Virtual Christmas party, they won't see us, we'll just see the event and I'll stream it to my TV likely. They have bands set up to perform for us so it will really just be a night in front of the TV with some takeout food but I thought it was a creative way to celebrate. My company employs thousands so the big in person party just wasn't going to happen yet but neat that they came up with something anyway!

Well, a long weird Sunday is coming to a close. My taller half is suffering from depression and overload, and today was a really bad one. I'm never really sure what to do when this happens aside from trying to patiently wait for things to pass, but it gets hard. He will not accept any help, will not accept that he cannot do ALL the things without help, and certainly will not accept much conversation of any kind when in one of the bad places. Today was one of those. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I had a wonderful conversation with each of my kids, and that sure helped a lot! They are wise, funny, and always ready to put up with a mom rant. The best.
The snow is beautiful, though! I know it does not make all of you as happy, but it was around -10C all morning today (14F), which is where happy temperatures begin for me. I should work in your café @yinxfed ! Sounds great. And your mixed Saturday with Mum sounds fabulous to me @DD265 - even if the event was rubbish, it gives you something to complain about together! And all the little meals. Perfect. BTW never feel bad about going to a restaurant and just having something to drink. They are there for that too - sometimes it is all you need, and you are the customer, so you are always right!
@bjaneb it was a blast having you on our team for a minute! I posted your weigh-in to your team (WeightNoMore) and congratulate you for getting through a holiday week with a 3 pound loss. Wow. If you ever want to join our team, just say the word!!

Lots of fun steps up in the woods this week. Encounters with stamping, snorting deer. On a windy day they can't hear you until you're up close6 -

As in TOO CLOSE! Poor things. I'm sure they're impressed by your balance, though! At the tail end of the summer when I was cat sitting for Em, she and M were heading out for an evening walk - until the other side of the car where there were two fluffy skunk escorts. Ha! They opted for indoor exercise on the mini-elliptical machine. It's easier to be close to the deer than skunks.

Thanksgiving holiday was "eh" for me. Food was okay, but travel wasn't fun and my family can be quite stressful. Unfortunately, I was getting some congestion & sinus pressure on Wed & Thurs. I thought it might be allergies, and was feeling better on Friday. But yesterday and today, I have lost sense of taste and most of smell -- so now I have to get a Covid test and I am freaking myself out that I have it. (I am vaxxed, as are all the family I saw except one person - who was kept in their own house and I only interacted with to drop off some food at said house). It's frustratingly difficult to figure out where best to get tested in my state right now.
I don't feel great in general. Saw the highest number on the scale today since probably sometime in 2019. Thinking about trying Noom and maybe a Planet Fitness membership (sure is cheap compared to other gyms in Boston area). Eating just hasn't been good since the very end of October.
@micki48 your table looked so pretty for the holiday!!
@YinxFed you are moving right along through Epic 2! I just saw that Caroline has created an Advent Calendar for the first 24 days of December, and I might try that! Shorter videos, which does appeal some days.
@jugar jealous of your snow! We got some in upstate NY on Friday, which was fun, just a dusting. But I'm ready for more!5 -
@Kali225
So many hugs flying your way! I hope you are going to be feeling better very soon. Family times can be so stressful, even when they are also good. As to your weight - Noom can be helpful for sure, and a real "program" of exercise, rather than just a huge choice of all kinds of videos you can follow if you figure out which ones are the good idea. Programs can help you stick with something definite, with no big choices to have to make. You can also make a simple commitment to pre-logging and sticking with your calories every day, but sometimes being self-directed gets hard. I hope you find the path that works for you! In the meantime, stick with us and never hesitate to come in and unload, or share a great day - whatever it takes!3 -

Wow! November is almost over. I’m feeling much better. I think maybe just exhaustion and a bit tummy upset. Logging is still sloppy. I’m fixing that tomorrow.
@Kali225 Sending hugs to you. Hope you feel better soon either way. Take care of yourself and check in so we know your ok.
@ashleycarole86 steps.

Friday aerobic workout 11 minutes and 17 minute dance party. More aerobics.3 -

Thur 2983
Fri 4845 30 min yoga
Sat 6967 30 min treadmill
Yikes slow week for me but it felt good to have a day or 2 off 😊 Have a great day all!3 -
I hope you get a negative test @Kali225, or at least if it is positive you have a mild case. I have a few friends (double vaccinated) who've had it and it has left them tired for a while.
I've been considering Noom too, just for a kick start, but I don't like how little information you can get about it up front. I always thought WW was very transparent so that tends to be a benchmark for me, although ultimately I wasn't successful on WW.1 -
PW: 79.3 (or 4, can't remember!)
CW: 79.7
I don't think that's bad considering, though it is in the wrong direction for my short term goal. 1 perfect day coming right up.
We didn't leave the house at all yesterday due to the weather, which meant my step count was low and I needed to earn some activity points for the health insurance so I got on the trampoline. I couldn't keep my heart rate high enough, and ended up sacking it off after 20 minutes, so I need to get out today. I'm going to walk at lunch time, then either walk or run after work.
We're having fajitas for tea today which are always enjoyable, and I have left over stir fry for lunch but I may see if the shop has any wraps; OH wants me to get him some Eccles cakes anyway which are "a small, round pie, similar to a turnover, filled with currants and made from flaky pastry with butter, sometimes topped with demerara sugar." I've never actually tried one, and do not need yet another calorific food that I enjoy!
I've had a few days where I haven't been chasing productivity which is nice, but I want to get cracking again this week. We're back in Yorkshire on Saturday and potentially heading to Manchester to look at a car, so I will try to make the most of my evenings.4 -

Not the best loss for me but had a wonderful trip. If it wouldn't have been for all the beer I think I would have lost more. Back on track this week and I made my November goal to be less than 300. Hitting the gym and mall early today and then I have to make a million phone calls today. Still hoping to go back to work this week. I have a lot of posts to catch up on and will do that this afternoon. I hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
