Surprisingly, I'm down probably b/c not eating due to nerves on waiting for husband's test results to come back if he has pancreatic cancer there is a 1 in tumor in his pancreas that was verified last Thursday during his scope; we see the specialist tomorrow for what is going to be done

I am sorry that you are going through such a tough time @LaurieWrobo.It's so worrying waiting for results.I will be thinking of you & your husband tomorrow ❤

Not much, but I'll take it!
  • @PatriceFitnessPal I have a friend that is doing keto and a chef, and she had recently given everyone glowing praise about this cookbook. I asked for the info for you, if you are interested: she said "that cookbook is amazing!" here's a link: https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Ketogenic-Mediterranean-Diet-Cookbook/dp/1641526807/ref=asc_df_1641526807/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=507843573010&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2202878400755125857&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1026069&hvtargid=pla-882233957705&psc=1

it's called the Essential Ketogenic Mediterranean Cookbook. SUPER tasty recipes!!
  • @jessicakrall8 I am new here, and I know next to nothing. I have no clue where the actual weights are listed/posted other than here that we do once a week. So I have no idea where the step challenge is located either. Sorry to be a bother, but I DO have a nice picture of a fruiting persimmon tree that I took on my morning walk: vnfrch1mbd8g.jpg

@jessicakrall8 is there a specific format to post steps to the challenge?

    Either way, here’s the start:
    5.12. 7538
    6.12. 5960
    7.12. 8055

It was a holiday weekend as I mentioned, so more sitting at the dinner table and less running errands.

By the way, I went to check the spreadsheet to see how te step challenge works, and noticed I’ve been dropped from the support squad as well. Completely understandable as a human pregnancy is a long time to just randomly hang around, but wanted to let you know as I do plan on rejoining the weight loss challenge in January. I used to also be a motivator for Shrinking Assets but my quitting that position was never actually discussed - I just noticed I’m no longer listed ;) that’s of course very fine as I haven’t been in the weight loss team in a while and I think it’s better for the team to have a motivator that walks the walk instead of just talking the talk, but you could probably persuade me to take that job again if needed. The milk pumping situation forces me to sit upright for 3+ hours per day, and I tend to spend it on my iPad and, lately, hanging around the internet so might as well check in here.

@hipari What's your first name (for the step chart) please? I'm sure you're being removed from the support squad was just an error in putting together the two teams. I'll talk with the MODS and see. I will let @jugar know about your Jan plan as well. If you're interested in being a Motivator come January, let me know. We're on the lookout for a second one, since our team is larger now for sure! The format you used is just fine...

@LaurieWrobo Nice loss!! Sorry for all the stress you're under right now!! Hope you get good news tomorrow!

@coblujay Nice loss this week! WTG!! You've made such great progress! I know you feel like a million bucks!!

@angmarie28 WTG on your loss this week!! You must be crazy busy right now getting ready for the holidays too...WOOHOO!

@kcpond Kevin, tiny little gain but you'll get back on track...I had your PW a little higher than you reported...could that be a typo? I show the PW as 245.8...let me know if that's incorrect...in the combining of teams, something could have been missed...let me know. It says NWI for last week. Got your steps updated...thanks! I figured out my confusion...your weigh in for last week was late and I've asked the MODS to switch it to a LWI. I've recorded today's weigh in as well. I'm not crazy, just a little disjointed this week! LOL

@KittyInBoots17 Great loss this week!! I used to get mad at the scale with little drops, but at least it's a drop!! WTG!

If you go back to the main Fat2Fit page and look at the various links, you'll find where it says SPREADSHEETS and look for the one for December. You can view the weigh ins and then scroll down under that section and you'll see the Step Challenge...when you're in the SPREADSHEET, look for the tab at the bottom that's TEAL colored and it will say Shape Shifters...that's where we are. If you still can't find it from these directions, let me know and I'll post the link. Post any questions you have and one of us will try to address them for you! Love the tree...I love it when people post walk pictures...thanks!

    Good morning team!

We had an annoyingly busy start to the day, as we had a doctor’s appointment for the baby first thing in the morning. She’s perfectly healthy, growing fast and got her first vaccination today <3 after that I’ve been cleaning the house, organizing her Christening and now pumping milk again. I’m hoping to get a nap in before leaving the house again, it’s Christmas party day at work today so I’m going to a wine tasting and a restaurant dinner. I have to bring the baby to the office and my husband will pick her up from there after his workday.

Good morning guys...yesterday I allowed myself to celebrate a friend's birthday, but I made a mistake an ordered breakfast, due to not having much dinner the night before...I was STARVING...and you know what that causes...went way over on calories for the day...well, ate my exercise credits anyway...feels like I wasted a day...but my friend had a lovely time and I feel happy about that. Today is a new day...hope you have a wonderful day! I have the jazz music playing and I'm working from home today...already walked a bit this morning!

Got the results- it is pancreatic cancer; today we see the oncologist to see if its contained or spread & what surgery is involved along with treatment- my heart hurts, ready to cry at any moment- as I sit here typing this, tears are flowing

@LaurieWrobo I'll be praying that the oncologist gives you hope and that you and your husband find peace for the decisions you have to make. Wish I could hug you...

@LauriWrobo - I’m joining others here to give you strength to support your husband. It’s so difficult to see those we love in pain so please lean on this group as much as you need. Cancer research has come so far and I’m wishing you all the best as you meet with the oncologist.

    Maintenance weigh-in

    Name: PatriceFitnessPal
    Weigh-in day: Thursday
    PW: 125.2
    CW: 125.4

    SW: 168
    TLD: 42.6

I’ve been making a lot of progress on my decluttering goal. I went through all my clothes and boxed up a very limited number of my favorite items that no longer fit. I’m going to keep them for one year while I practice maintaining my weight between 120-130.

I’m also donating items that are still in good shape but no longer fit as part of our effort to downsize now that both adult children are living on their college campuses. We’re not quite ‘empty nesters’ yet, but we finally have some time to part with items we no longer use, etc.

For December, my project goal is to reduce, reuse, or recycle something for every day of the month until we leave for our family vacation on December 25th. For example, I donated ONE cello that my younger son outgrew to the local middle school on 12/1 and TWO violins that my older son no longer plays went to the high school on 12/2. On 12/3, I delivered THREE pant suits to a group that supports women reentering the workforce, etc. It’s like a reverse “12 Days of Christmas” or an ‘advent calendar’ for those who know the song and celebrate the holiday.

We take a trip or share an experience instead of exchanging gifts but there are a couple of items that I plan to buy for my sons because they are worn and need updating. I guess I’ll add ‘replace’ to the typical 3 R’s above. Usually, my favorite is ‘resist’ because it’s easier for me to eliminate at the point of purchase. I don’t know why it’s so emotional for me to get rid of things I know ‘weigh me down’ but it takes a lot of my time and energy!

The good news is that it’s getting easier with practice, just like weight loss. I’m getting better at not letting ‘perfect’ get in the way of ‘good’ but I still feel the strange need to donate items to ‘just the right person or group.’ 🤨🙄😬

Do you have any ‘quirks’ or habits that interfere with your exercise, nutrition, or other health and wellness goals?

Best wishes in moving beyond any of your own personal quirks that get in the way of your goals!

@jessicakrall8 I’ve found that I do best and stay most accountable on MFP when I’m as anonymous as possible, so there’s no temptation to sugar coat things in case someone somehow connects my profile to me in real life. That’s why I don’t even share the city I’m located, I don’t have a face photo and I have never shared my first name here. I hope this can be respected in the step challenge.

@hipari Understood. I'll just leave it blank.
