Well, so much for my self-declared discipline regarding leftovers. I did take advice from @biketheworld and @WhatMeRunning yesterday about social situations and we ate at home (leftovers) before going out to meet the cousins and MIL for dinner and beers. Just shared a beer with my daughter. I'll admit that prime motivation was that I wasn't willing to eat out with in an area that has a low vaccination rate and high case rate with covid. However, it helped emphasize that I was there to socialize and did not need to eat to to that. We had a convenient (and true) excuse that our eating and hunger patterns were off due to the time change.
Got home a bit early and my daughter and I both had a couple of the leftover desserts. Ugh. I knew I shouldn't. I knew that up until that point I was within range of my calories. Probably one of the first times that I deliberately and actively thought, "This is going to put me over" and went ahead and did it.
Just confessing that last statement highlights some self-sabotaging behaviors that have stopped and reversed weight loss habits in the past for me. Need to get past this. Without UAC, I would not be as focused on the behavioral insights and only focused on the number on the scale. So despite what happened yesterday, I'm glad to be able to acknowledge the problem and get back to focusing on the habits.7 -
