Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

Success and failure are two sides of the same coin when practicing habits we wish to improve upon.
Consider the following...
Borrowing from the @SummerSkier marble jar idea, while some may think of one set of marbles as "bad" and another "good", which of those marbles taught you the most and resulted in higher levels of self-improvement? From that perspective, which were more valuable long-term?
Sorry if this seems a bit abstract. I like to look at things from different angles. Even when things seem perfect, I like to take different perspectives and can usually see areas for improvement. After all, while there is a monthly winner's circle, there is no finish line.11 -
Not quite on topic ... today is the first of 2 "Planned Potential-Pass" day on my calendar DH's intown family gathering (6 or 7 of us, all double vaxed - at least 2 already had booster) .
I don't know ahead of time whether the meal will be something sorta-trackable or not. Will get (at least minimum) exercise in ahead, and saving most of day's calories for suppertime. If I I go a bit over or it proves to be un-trackable, that's OK.
The other is Christmas Day itself (dinner is at my place and more under my direct control)
Results on the above two may influence "Planned-Potential" status possibility for New Year's Eve. So might getting my booster shot mid-morning on the 30th ....
1 pass day already used early in the month (actually "green by 24 cals" but something about the Food / Exercise log connection makes MFP think it was "red by 76")

Thanks Ashley 🥰 We had a massive dump of snow yesterday but clear roads today (but for drifting snow). We are an route back home now and aiming to beat the storm coming in from the west. 60-70 km/hr gusts and lots more snow. Will be good to be home.7 -
Day 2 of being away with the in laws and I’m doing my h better than I thought.
I did yoga and ate at maintenance today 🙃
We ate out for lunch and dinner so difficult to know calories but estimated high.
Lunch - I had an appetiser (3 x seared scallops) and side tomato salad for lunch. Instead of ordering a starter, main and dessert like everyone else.
Dinner - I skipped the bread on the table and the starter and just had a light fish plate. Tiny portions but just right for me. I had a side salad and 1/2 c of fries.
1/2 scoop of rum ice cream.
Not ideal eating by any means but I feel like I really enjoyed my meals without feeling restricted and feel like I indulged without breaking the calorie bank. I’m also really pleased I’m not snacking on crappy junk food.

sooo, I'm on track today and grateful for that, as I'm so tired of my yoyo-back and forth-dance. Going to treat myself to a non-food/drink item on 12/31 if I accomplish this personal goal during the next couple of days4

Exercise: walked
Calories: Way over (I was attacked by delicious pizza)

I am calling today a Planned (Used) Pass day.
Exercise: (8200 steps and not quite bedtime yet - fit bit added more than 250 activity-calorie credits to my log)
Logged: (?) Put everything in, but had no way of measuring anything. Also, no telling if the (non-standard recipe) homemade musaca would rate as more vs fewer calories than the one in the Food Database, even if I DID know the exact serving size.
In Goal: ???? IF the proper Dinner items / amounts were chosen for the Food log, I would have needed 35 cals from the ~250 earned activity credits .... but as mentioned I have no idea if they match up correctly or not. The rest of the day was logged properly.
The drawing update will be posted tomorrow.4 -
Exercise: Did various exercises and 30 minutes of aggressive elliptical
Tracking:
Calories: Another excellent day, gearing up to 2 guilt free pass days.4 -
3 Yesses
Exercise was a 2 mile run in 21:09 so just barely made the minimum.
Next 2 days will be pass days for me, which will be Pass Days 6 & 7.

My sons are home for Christmas. We went out for lunch today for barbecue, one of the few meals out in the past several months since I have been doing low carb. I had pulled pork with the sauce on the side and manage to eat little of the sauce, with my two sides both being green beans. Then at supper I fixed turkey and noodles for the rest of the family and only ate the turkey and some veggies. So it felt like a successful day.
I also felt good that I did not let the extended family drama pull me off track. My 87 year old father-in-law (who lives next door to us) told my husband yesterday that he ¨either had a cold or had Omicron.¨ He is refusing to get tested for Covid because he feels better. My husband told him if he is sick and won´t get tested for Covid we won´t be coming for Christmas. My sister-in-law tried to reason with him and he ¨cancelled Christmas¨ and hung up on her. Later she called us and said ¨he was right-- he´s not sick enough for Covid but this could be his last Christmas...¨ For us it is a flat no-- between his attitude and the unvaccinated family members we are just having Christmas with our boys at home and are staying away from the family that is not taking Covid seriously-- whether the extended family likes it or not.

Exercise: yes- Treadmill: 35 min / 1.99 mi
We met some friends for dinner out tonight and I was able to choose items that fit into my calories at the weight loss level ... mostly because I ate very light earlier in the day. For Christmas Eve and Christmas day I'll be eating at maintenance level. On Sunday I'll be back to my regular program.
Enjoy your holiday!4 -

@mshawski – that’s tough, hang on in there.
@snowshoe072 – I hope you stay well and hubby gets better soon.
@ideas2 – what a drama! However as your FIL lives next door you can catch up another day – and don’t get blackmailed by that “may be his last Christmas” – you can spend time with him when he is better.8
