@Retired_Sue So happy for you getting to share the holiday in person with your family this year, it really does not matter the when so much as being able to be together, we sure learned that lesson if not much else from this never ending pandemic. The food sounds great maybe after the holidays if you find the time you could share your turnip casserole just wondering if it is made with what we used to call turnip (rutabaga) I think that's what it's called in the store, I went to get some turnip, my kind, & saw these little tiny things they call turnip & I just did not know what to say. Mom used to cook one turnip for a meal, we were 6 kids, that tiny thing would not have fed one, of course not everyone liked it but I always loved it. Doubt I'll be on this tomorrow so Wishing Everyone a Very Merry Christmas!

Happy Thursday everyone! My daughter says hello. Both budgie birds are doing well and say cheep, cheep! I've been for a walk in the afternoon and I feel great! I'll be doing some dancing after supper today. Take care and stay safe. Merry Christmas 🌲 everyone!1

Good Evening Everyone!
Couple fine flurries. Worked on my crafts and is taking a little longer than planned for the final part. If not done tonight will definitely be done tomorrow morning. Made the Christmas pudding and worked cleaning this afternoon. Tomorrow is tart shells and wrapping. Also plan to make the rounds to neighbors that are friends with gifts. Hubby has to bye my Christmas gift tomorrow as pick up a friend's gift then they're all done.1 -
Merry Christmas everyone. Looking forward to the 5% Winter Challenge to start. I really need this.2

@Bookienj ,,, Awww glad you are feeling better! Hopefully by now the headache is also gone? Ohhh ew'd all rather have snow ANY DAY over ice. I saw on the news the 100 car/truck pileup in Wisconsin!! WOW!!
Oh I hope your D is going to be okay!
@TEXASTITCHER ,, LOL Hence why we keep hoping for smaller snow storms until the last few weeks so it's always pretty. LOL
@HealthyBarb1 ,, Are you in a rural area of WA? Sounds so pretty!! SMART idea waiting for family etc until spring. Its not worth the "What if" and yes, by that time hopefully with the pills being available we'll be able to be back in groups again. Time will tell.
@Retired_Sue,,, Awww hope you enjoyed tonight!! HAPPY HAPPY Anniversary indeed!! Family means so much to 99% of us as humans, of course myself included. I saw my GGS for a few yesterday just does the heart good!! Sounds like a nice mixture of food, LOVE the mixtures!! Oh I am sure you enjoyed.
@Herbsandmore,,, My Mom also fed us 8 kids with one turnip, but hehehehe I think she was the only one who REALLY enjoyed it. BUT in a casserole it could be better. Like the doesn't matter when we get together. I do deeply love my family and friends, and look forward to this whole thing being over with!! Aren't WE ALL!!!
@Cormierannie,,, TY TY FOR ALL YOU DO!!! Enjoy the day/night!!
@Cseguin2 ,,, Even flurries are better than noooo snow. What type of crafting did you do? LOL Why do men usually wait til the last minute to buy gifts? LOL Usually from not being sure what to buy. I have friends who send them pictures, order it themselves etc. LOL
@Memeq2,, WELCOME to the 5% Challenge!! WOOHOO We are excited to see you!! May you enjoy the entire weekend, MAY WE ALL ENJOY THE WEEKEND!!
ALL this cooking got me going especially @Katiecondy1 ,,, today I picked upped what I needed for chili and home made corn bread. Hey Katie, I AM NOT MAKING IT FROM A MIX!!! LOLOLOL1 -

Good Morning, Wonderful 5% Challenge Community! Well, we got a dusting of snow overnight - so ... I guess we can say that we got snow for Christmas.
My family and I celebrate on Christmas Eve so I have a lot to do before guests arrive this evening around 6. I'm still baking cookies (the house already smells wonderful at 6am!) and I'll be making cheesecake and rice pudding. Picking up the house one last time today and wrapping a few gifts. I will be doing a lot of running around today so I won't be on here until tomorrow (or Sunday), but I will be thinking of you all.
To those that celebrate: Merry Christmas! To those that don't, wishing you a Fabulous Friday!!1 -

@HerbsandMore _ I'll try to remember to share the recipe after I get home. Applesauce helps cut the stronger taste of the turnip or rutatbagas and there's eggs, melted margarine and seasonings in it as well. A food processor makes the prep so much easier. And while we did dinner last night, we'll do the rest of Christmas - i.e. presents - tomorrow. Our son thought we were doing all of that last night and wasn't planning to come over on Christmas day but now he and his GF will join us tomorrow too.
@Dianedoessmiles1 - We did have a fun evening - didn't manage to taste everything either - no mac 'n' cheese, dressing or kale salad - but there are left overs of course! And a few rousing games of UNO were enjoyed although "Grandma" here just observed rather than played but it was still fun!
@hicim705 - We had some snow here last night but I'm not sure if it's even going to hang around until tomorrow although it doesn't seem to be melting too fast. We could have rain tomorrow - YUCK!
Our daughter had to report for work at 8 this morning but wasn't sure when she'd be home as she will fill in wherever there is a need for a driver. She's hoping that she won't be too late getting home and that she has a similar schedule tomorrow. It's pretty quiet around here today and of course all my prep was done a few days ago so there's not that usual list of "to-dos" for me today. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night so am feeling a bit tired. Having a quiet day is fine with me!
For those who celebrate.

@Everyone ,, TO everyone who celebrates, if you are traveling please be super safe. From the weather map the west and east coast of Canada and the US are going to be rain/snow/and everything between and of course the rest of the countries, travel even in the best of weather does NOT guarantee no issues. Please pull and rest if needed. If any family etc. are upset, best to not engage in on that, and find others there you can enjoy. Life is short, let's keep it happy.
@Hicim705 ,,, Heidi you KNOW I LOVE ❄❄❄❄!!! By this time (4:39 PM) hopefully most of what it is you are trying to get done IS DONE!! ENJOY Saturday OFF from the computer, we'll be going WILD ENOUGH SOON ENOUGH!! Oh I LOVE that CRAZINESS I just do. My weekend will be perhaps on the lower key, but many where I live are not going to family etc. or doing so tonight. So tomorrow, looks like our normal card, games gals (6 to 8 of us in general) will be around. Some of us now prefer to wear our masks, most of us have a health issue. BUT Its so much fun to play games and cards!!
@Retired_Sue ,,, LOL I'd OF HAD that MAC & CHEESE!! I've convinced the little guy it's "MAC & SNEEZE" LOLOL Now to get him to add in KETCHUP on it, his Mom has been so grossed out I do that. We'll just say she'll never forget me. LOLOL Hey I have her salting her ketchup for fries.
As you all are around those you love on Saturday etc. take a few quiet moments to notice the things you do as a family, group of friends etc. that others there also do, because you are around each other either growing up or as adults. It always cracks me up!

Today has been busy and productive. Finished my crafting last night. Just a couple last minute things to do including my nails.

@Cseguin2,,, WOW nice details. I ADORE SNOWMEN!! Someone made one outside the other day. It was so cute!! So many elderly here can't do anything outside, so for them to look out their windows and see that!! PRICELESS!!! No doubt others will LOVE to see your handwork too. HARD WORK, but fun too.3

Can't believe how much I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. The family gathered tonight for food and fun and I loved seeing the new grandson coo and smile for us. The 22 yr old GS brought his girlfriend and she was lovely and seemed right at home. Worked the part time job in a small ladies fashion store and it was a busy 5 hours. We had been opening at 10:00 AM but, opened at 9:00 this week and I am happy to have 3 days free before I return. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas a time of rest and rejoicing in the knowledge of what the birth of Jesus means for all believers.

Christmas Day has been a day of blessings. Was able to sleep late and have exercise when I chose to and watched 2 movies on Amazon. We had fun with the family last night and ate leftovers for our meals today. Very nice day!

Christmas Day here was very laid back because we are celebrating Christmas on Monday instead since my DD and SIL had to work and they wanted to still do the special stuff with my 5 yr old Granddaughter and 3 yr old Grandson, plus my son and his fiance will not be getting into town til Sunday. And just like every year I have as yet to wrap any presents before "Christmas Eve" . LOL
Hope everyone who celebrated today with family had a blessed day.4 -

IH ALL!! Looks like everyone is having a nice time today and right on through and into , beyond 2022!! Each day is gift for all of us. I enjoyed a relaxing day, UNTIL I called a friend. LOL OH IT'S ALL GOOD, but we decided we'll watch the football game HERE!! THANKFULLY my place is with a few runs of the vacuum ready for whatever. But with the variant, I wanted to do what I can for us to be as far apart as we can be, we'll wear our masks, except to eat. Out of the 4 of us who MAY be here, likely it'll be 3 of us, we ALL have health issues, so better safe than sorry!!! I'll have everything set up so that no one is using anything someone else has touched or it was a wrapping that can be removed person by person for added safety.3

Merry Christmas, everyone!
As it happens in most years, we are stretching the "fun" and will be opening presents most of next week. Since my son has a seizure disorder and too much excitement can set him off, we scale the day's activities down and make everything last for days. We will do one present at each meal (three a day) until they are gone. It also give the cats and dogs something to mess with.
Hope everyone had/is having a Merry Christmas. Here are a couple pix: Christmas Eve sunset and the tree with the "gimme's". Tank is waiting for me to leave so he can go find his presents.
