My sons are home for Christmas. We went out for lunch today for barbecue, one of the few meals out in the past several months since I have been doing low carb. I had pulled pork with the sauce on the side and manage to eat little of the sauce, with my two sides both being green beans. Then at supper I fixed turkey and noodles for the rest of the family and only ate the turkey and some veggies. So it felt like a successful day.
I also felt good that I did not let the extended family drama pull me off track. My 87 year old father-in-law (who lives next door to us) told my husband yesterday that he ¨either had a cold or had Omicron.¨ He is refusing to get tested for Covid because he feels better. My husband told him if he is sick and won´t get tested for Covid we won´t be coming for Christmas. My sister-in-law tried to reason with him and he ¨cancelled Christmas¨ and hung up on her. Later she called us and said ¨he was right-- he´s not sick enough for Covid but this could be his last Christmas...¨ For us it is a flat no-- between his attitude and the unvaccinated family members we are just having Christmas with our boys at home and are staying away from the family that is not taking Covid seriously-- whether the extended family likes it or not.

Exercise: yes- Treadmill: 35 min / 1.99 mi
We met some friends for dinner out tonight and I was able to choose items that fit into my calories at the weight loss level ... mostly because I ate very light earlier in the day. For Christmas Eve and Christmas day I'll be eating at maintenance level. On Sunday I'll be back to my regular program.
Enjoy your holiday!4 -

@mshawski – that’s tough, hang on in there.
@snowshoe072 – I hope you stay well and hubby gets better soon.
@ideas2 – what a drama! However as your FIL lives next door you can catch up another day – and don’t get blackmailed by that “may be his last Christmas” – you can spend time with him when he is better.8 -

Pass Day 11 (I may have miscounted)
I planned the day with some exercise calories. But then my 5 year old woke up early (which he has been doing all week) and so I didn't get to do my morning 15 minute video. And then I had field work for work, but it was just standing around in the extreme cold, no moving at all. And I've discussed how that triggers me to overeat. So I ate all the exercise calories I had planned on and then a little more too.
I didn't really go "hog wild" though. And I even stopped at a cute little grocery store/cafe and bought things but didn't buy anything I shouldn't have - some prepared food which will fit in the calorie budget well, some stocking stuffers for the kids, and a treat for my usual bedtime treat time - which I split in 2 pieces and had 1last night.
@snowshoe072 I hope that covid passes through your household without too much trouble.
@ideas2 I was torn about what reaction to pick. I was very inspired by your restaurant meal figuring - I have so much difficulty with restaurant meals. But so much sympathy for your covid/holiday drama. Back in the before covid times, we had 3 very difficult Christmases that were "Grandma's last Christmas" and then 1 that was "Grandpa's first Christmas without Grandma" before finally being able to stop going there last year because of covid (there were a lot of reasons that it was a tough place to have Christmas and nobody really wanted to go there but all felt obligated - including I think the grandparents who really didn't want to host!)
@WhatMeRunning thanks for the inspiration.

I did start out the day tracking... but it fell apart in the afternoon. I'm off work from my bank job until Jan 3, and worked 1/2 day in the chiro office. In the afternoon I drove to Cinci to pick up my sister as she's spending Christmas with us as we travel to PA (Friday) to visit my hubby's family. This is her first Christmas without her hubby as he passed back in June and she just didnt want to be alone for Christmas. I'm still hovering right around the 3lbs (gained) mark, so at least it's not totally off the rails!!

@Mrs_Hoffer I do hope you have a good holiday especially your sister, travel safe. Take time to enjoy family and friends with some structure those 3 pounds will fall away I have faith in you it will work out! Just remember ask yourself if you really need the food item? Sometimes it’s just a yes🎄4

@snowshoe072 - sorry to hear Covid has shown up at home. Hopefully your hubby will have a mild case and neither you nor your son will get it. My husband and I have been talking how careless we’ve become. We are both fully vaccinated, but never wear a mask and aren’t as careful about washing our hands or using hand sanitizer when we’re out in public. I do feel really good trusting that at least if we catch it, we’ll have a mild case.
@mshawski - I will be wearing that ring tomorrow for sure! My Christmas goal was to have an average weight of 195, I hit that on December 13 (I think) and this morning my avg weight was 192.8. This is probably the first time in my life I’ve lost weight in December. Unbelievable.

Love your description about the attack of the delicious pizza @Mama530 congrats on logging it all to account for it and to most importantly just move on!
@BMcC9 some things just can't be measured, thus why we self report a yes/no, excellent reporting as always!
Great day on the UAC front @ideas2 hope the family drama resolves soon.
@Caroline_slowandsteady sounds like a good day despite being a pass day!
I hope you and your sister have some cheer amidst the difficult time she is going through, she's lucky to have someone like you on her side through this. I'm sure you can tackle those 3 pounds.
