Self-discipline, Budgets, self-control.... are some words people tends to resist or look at negatively. What is always interesting to me is how people take a lot of effort to justify their actions (the ones that work against them).
I have decided to take time to justify the things that work for my health. These are my motivating factors.- I never want to be Fat again!
- The price of living a fat life is too expensive (clothes, shoes, food, etc., etc.).
- My clothes are now cheaper, food more enjoyable, my food items last longer. No guilt the next day.
- The discomfort OMG that comes from being fat (easily exhausted, slow motion/movement, constantly, out of breath, pains, etc., etc.)
- The effect of "fat life style" on Health..... I won't even go there
Compare to what I have now.... I will do everything to maintain this present life style. I have cheated myself enough! NO MORE!
Therefore, I will form as many habits as possible to replace every bad one I ever had. Self-discipline changes to self-love.

Exercise: yes, 20 minutes treadmill, 15 min walk outside. Fitbit said 75 active minutes.
Tracking: tracked everything, even when I didn't want to face the fact that I had 3 pieces of mini valentines candies and a individual size bag of doritos. That added up to 280 calories that I could have saved today. Drat!
Calories: yes, still under my goal. I did a little extra exercise to help even out the snacking. Still having sugar cravings........ 🤬

@Winner_in_Life Tysm for sharing the great article and quotes. Very insightful and motivating!
Lucky you @SummerSkier Unfortunately a habit for me requires a bit of 'butt-kicking' to get me to do something consistently. Eventually they will become habits for me. Or perhaps I'm picking the wrong habits then lol.
@jamcnewman Ty for your insights. I really like "support the identity I want to manifest". That's a keeper, it may be my next monthly mantra.
Ty @ashleycarole86 That's exactly how I function. I really liked your comment "it takes intentional living to meet your goals". I'm saving that one also to reference for motivation when I'm struggling. Ty for that
Ty for your support @WhatMeRunning I always find your "big old blabber-head" comments chock full of wisdom & encouragement!
@Arc2Arc Ty for your insights also. Unfortunately I need a bit of tough self-love; having a high level of motivation goes out the window quickly for me when I get distracted by life's stresses.
Always full of wisdom too @MadisonMolly2017. I do struggle with loving myself. I'm really working on my negative thoughts and insecurities. Lately I have a lot of rage going on too; I'm trying to work through that. Idk if it's hormonal; I had a phase of that when I first went into menopause. Ty for that very insightful post
@victorious55 Tysm for your inspiring post I loved it all but especially the phrase "self discipline changes to self love"! I'm also writing down your 5 reasons for justifying your health. You can look at it as a way of reframing negatives into positives which is something I need to work on soon as well.
I really didn't foresee this being such a thoughtful discussion. I just thought I'd share what the next monthly mantra is that I"m working on and leave the content light and undemanding as we head into a new month. However it ended up being yet another helpful day of the group sharing our insights and wisdom; just another display of why our group is so awesome!
Yes x 3 for me today!

The cold snap has ended! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I celebrated with Beauregard by taking an 80 minute outdoor walk through our beautiful urban park around the lake. The sunny and warm day meant some really icy patches and lots of puddles, so I was glad to have my IcyTraxx on my Sorels. Beau enjoyed lots of bounding in deep snow and that sure was a workout for us both!
Tracked ✅
Calories ✅ Very under and got the red warning from MFP. Gastro issues are worse tonight and after a hot shower, I am in bed early with the heating pad. Tomorrow will be better.
Exercise ✅ 84 minutes of exercise; 13,000+ steps.

@jamcnewman I love this, it really is beautifully put:jamcnewman wrote: »For me, my goals and habits are now always set in a positive wording, and they support the identity I want to manifest (rather than using only goals and habits that are performance based). It is really helping me.
@MadisonMolly2017 I agree 100%. Approaching my lifestyle changes and habit development from a place of self acceptance and love has made "this time around" different. I'm not perfect in the self-love aspect by any means but I am getting there, slowly but surely. I can see my habits building up over time and my life IS changing for the better because of taking the time to do the mindset work. Thank you for sharing!
Hoping everyone's week is off to a great start!6 -

Happy Monday fellow UACers! I have an awful tendency to put my UAC goals on hold when I get stressed out. It's time for me to work on self-discipline. The reality is there is always another stressor around the corner; such is life. If I'm ever going to get anywhere with this program, I need to keep going. This will be my daily affirmation for the rest of February:
Love this to bits! Good luck with achieving this in Feb!! U got this!! We all do!! Xo3 -
