@SummerSkier haha - I am not such an early bird. It is 11pm Thursday night here as I write. Just happen to be in Sydney so earlier time zone5 -
Once in a while it is good to revisit WHY we are doing this. It can be challenging, yet here we are. What is it that keeps you going?4 -
Why? I like feeling the way I feel after exercising. I like looking better in my clothes. I like the confidence I have to try thing or to do things that aren't necessarily easy. I like not waking up every morning and having my inner monologue tell me I'm fat. I have a feeling of success even though I'm a work in progress.4

Good Topic, @WhatMeRunning, one of my favorites.
I could go on for pages but I'll keep mine brief.
1. Makes sports and activities more rewarding.
Sports have been a big part of my life and I’d like that to continue.
2. The way I feel just going through my day.
Even walking around the house feels great. Physical tasks seem effortless. I feel alert, plugged in and energized.
3. Health.
Many health considerations align on this one.
4. Weight Control/ I like to eat
Really part of health except maybe the hedonistic part. Burning really big calories in long sessions which I’ll do skiing, hiking and cycling, is SO much fun to eat back.
5. My Appearance.
6. I Enjoy It.
I really do. Maybe I’m a little hyper.5 -

May WHY is simple. In case I live longer, I want to be fit enough to take care about myself and my husband wanted that I stayed in a healthy weight and did sport.4 -

YYY to all days this week.5

My why:
-I hadn't been diagnosed with any health issues (aside from sleep apnea, which could be a structural problem.. not sure), but things felt on the brink and my doctor kept telling me repeatedly that it would really help to lose weight (which of course I knew but couldn't get my head around mentally). So I started losing to minimize my risk of weight related health consequences.
-Life was getting hard. I felt sore and achy and had no energy. I would debate whether or not something downstairs was worth going down for (and often it wasn't even if I wanted/needed it). So I started losing to regain control of my body and how things felt for me and what I felt up to doing.
-My Mom, in her early 60's, has been obese a long time and is now starting to suffer serious mobility issues. So I started losing to minimize my risk of finding myself in the same situation someday.
-My husband had just gotten a hip replacement and his previous lack of mobility was no longer a concern. So we started losing together to take advantage of the newfound opportunities to explore together in active ways.
-I felt self-conscious. So I started losing to work on my self-image.
-I love sports. So I started losing to ensure I could engage in them again.7 -

I went HARD at the gym today and woooooo boy am I not standing up anytime soon.
Why: a good balance of health concerns and straight up vanity. Plus my 6 year old is speedy and mischievous and I need to get to the fragile things faster.
Tomorrow is a planned pass day, which will be my third and hopefully last of the month. I have two social engagements tomorrow - one for breakfast and one for dinner.5
