I have an either/or mindset sometimes, and breaking my exercise into 10 minute increments really helps!

I did 3 ten minute bouts of raking today!

Thanks for suggesting this. I have an hours worth of back exercising and stretching that I need to do often and sometimes I can’t face an hour of it.

    You are welcomed!

I need to get started on my PT at home in the near future. I always did 10 minute increments of that, and usually did not exceed 15 minutes.

I still made progress. It helps a lot!

I've done one full week of my challenges and am pleased to say my compliance with my meds, shot, and vitamins has improved!

Also, my blood glucose improved overall, and I am even having some post meal readings in the normal range or not exceeding 140.

I managed to do 1.5 hours of emptying and recycling boxes today. I live with someone who overbuys and doesn't organize very well. I keep asking the person to please stop buying stuff. I wish the person would get help. It is rare I have this much energy to do something like this.

I have a lot to do, but just working at decluttering 10 minutes most days really helps!

I am also doing dibs and dabs of spring cleaning! Yay!

I've realized today that having a routine can really help when one gets bad news or had a difficult bump in the road. My ten minute increments of activity or decluttering/cleaning really helps too.

I rest when I need to and do a quick chore when I can.

I am working with an excellent online talk therapist and am learning how to not tie my self worth to how productive I am on any given day.

My therapist and I text each other back and forth. It is through an app. He is from India. In my experience, doctors from India have been excellent. He is an excellent therapist. I've made so much progress in a little bit of time. I am very lucky to have found the app and tried it. The cost is a little less than what I would pay on my copays. I am very lucky.

    I am grateful. 💕🌸

What an amazing time we live in. An online therapist that you can text! Sounds like it’s working great. Happy for you.

I had a good session with him yesterday.

I've been choosing to eat some processed carbs, but I count them into my day. I track everything. I don't expect to be doing this too much. It is some stress eating.

I know what works for me, it is routine. I do really well when i am on a routine, unfortunately once I'm off my routine, things go south really fast.

I have discovered that I totally abhor people breaking into my routine now that I am home all the time. I can get really angry which is crazy but since I am not at the beck and call all the time for clients i really value my quite time. I am also not very understanding with my husband who is retired and deteriorating. I don't think its from any disease, I think its from non-socializing. He seems to only talk to me. But he has no interest in my suggestions about getting online with like minded people or making an effort to go for coffee once a week with friends or old coworkers so we are turning into a couple of old boring retirees. I have taken to exercise on the treadmill after I have had my 3 cups of coffee and read while drinking them. I take my blood sugar twice a week now that I have stabilized. It has started to creep up a smidgen I am eating too many bagels. They seem to be my go to for breakfast when I don't feel like making eggs. It's called just plain lazy. lol.

I like my "me" time too but I was always in positions where I didn't have "me" time and I was too tired to do much when I got home.

    Wtg on working out!

I loved bagels, but rarely eat them anymore due to my blood glucose needs.

What other breakfasts would be quick and easy? I like to microwave a package of grits and served them with a fried egg. Some of my other breakfasts are to microwave bacon and serve them over sliced tomatos or microwave a poached egg and serve it over a half an avocado.

I typically have one of three breakfasts, the first one being low carb: a couple scrambled eggs with sautéed onions and red bell peppers, one of those instant oatmeal packets made with water, or one taco-sized flour tortilla with about 10g of cream cheese, folded in half. The last one may be a bit odd, but I like it and it is super-quick. My breakfasts are typically no more than 200 calories.

Those sound like some good breakfasts! I love doing veggie scrambled eggs with red bell peppers!

Just wanted to thank you beccaboo for setting up this group. I am enjoying seeing all the different challenges and getting to know my fellow group members. This group is what I was looking for.

Welcome to Spring my fellow group members. I have been seeing a lot of great posts and appreciate all the information I am getting from you. Not only do I have exercise equipment consultants I have fellow cheese lovers and some gardeners. Weather is looking good today but too many social activities to take advantage of it. Off to the gym shortly to keep my challenge going.

Thank you ladies! I am enjoying the team, too!

It is a nice spring day, which I am enjoying, and supposedly cold weather is coming again. Drat! My spring flowers don't like that.

I feel pretty good though overall. Just keep on keeping on.

I've been off my game lately, as I am caring for others a lot! I need to care for myself too!

Well, my little pooch Daisy is going through some hard times. Be ever viligent with your health, as some conditions can deteriorate quickly! There is such a thing as a "tipping point" and I must remember that for myself!

Self care needs to be increased.

Strong advocacy for my little sweetie may have saved her life! She does appear to be losing eyesight though which leaves me feeling sad. Otherwise, she appears to be doing better.

I've been advocating for a Cushing's test for a while for her. It turns out I was right! If only a vet had listened earlier.... The symptoms were so severe in the end and came on quickly that she almost didn't make it. I advocated that we just start her on the Cushing's meds without the "curve" and she is responding positively. Cushing's can cause diabetes (which she has now) and pancreatitis (which she started having) among other concerns.

Her blood work and health were impeccable last fall. I feel like this is my fault, but it isn't. She had regular checkups with the vet, and anytime I had a concern with her, I took her to the vet.

If we all only had crystal balls....

Can’t believe I haven’t posted in a long time. I really like this group and don’t want it to disappear from lack of participation. As you can probably imagine I haven’t posted because I am not doing the things I need to do. I have been stressed and busy but not putting that out as an excuse. I have a ton of consulting work that I have been neglecting, my taxes aren’t done and I was super stressed about my Easter Brunch. All of these wounds have been self-inflicted which makes it feel worse. Weight is moving up and it’s mostly stress eating. Ok, enough whining, Susan.

My first step back to sanity is to check all your discussions and try to catch up. Then I am headed into office for morning clean up and laying out a plan for completing first leg of consulting work. Finally, there will be water in a large bottle for catching up on fluids.

Later I will work on my next, I challenge myself.

Thanks for stopping by to say hi! Everyone has periods where they are really busy, so please don't feel bad about.

The group won't disappear. I need it. I may not be here every single day, but I enjoy coming here and having a place to chat and set goals.

    Sending hugs!

I was having a rough time with my lower carb eating lately, but have gotten back on track with some easy to prepare meals. A Dozen Cousins has wonderful Cuban black beans, and Taylor's has a wonderful broccoli salad. Easy peasy!

I also buy prepacked hard boiled eggs these days, as I need things to be easy right now, especially my lower carb food options!
