    My internet has been mostly down all day / spotty at best. It was a work from home day, so you can imagine it was frustrating. Currently typing this on my phone as I've given up on WiFi.

    Lovely to hear about the green weigh-ins. Sorry about the dog situation @bobagurl2017 .. glad you're looking for the silver lining but it's hard when we make a connection and get disappointed.

    Brad is traveling for business which puts me on random fridge clean out mode as I always am when he's not home.

    I've been eating a lot of sandwiches starring my favorite - tomato!! We don't garden like most of you but we do seem to have an abundance from the store anyway.

    Also made an interesting mushroom, onion and corn concoction for wraps tomorrow, and I'm doing a protein smoothie in the morning to use up a bunch of fruit.

    Just call me human garborator Ashley :) Don't worry, it's all tracked and MFP likes my fibre intake!!!

    We have had a strong week as a step team! Week 2 report coming soon :) (@Kali225 thinking your steps are coming with your weigh in so I'll be waiting for your lovely numbers)

    @MsMcClane I count macros and calories. I have the paid version of my fitness pal and it includes more info and let's you customize more things. Here is a collage of a few of my pages so you can see the difference. The top one is the top of my newsfeed and just shows calories. The nutrients page shows the different types of fats and other stuff. The diary shows macros and remaining calories.

    I'm also adding a picture from my binder that has my wellness coaches recommendations for protein sources. It might give you more ideas. Just FYI, she has beans in the starches section for carbs. I use isagenix protein powder and bars. They have a plant based line and they have quality products.9duaofrpx8c3.jpg

    Your adoption story is both sad and lovely all at once @jugar.

    @conleywoods I think the fact that a) you hiked for 3.5 hours then b) only let hunger de-rail you for one meal is a massive achievement. Something for me to aim for! Unrelated; do you find the subscription for MFP worth the cost? I've debated it a few times... I think I'd use the app more if there were no ads in it, it'd be good to give myself extra calories on a Tuesday, and I'd like to not include exercise calories in my goal, which are all premium features.

    I gave myself 5.5 hours of sleep opportunity last night, and spent it all tossing and turning, so getting up for training this morning was a challenge! I'm glad I went because we increased the overhead press weight to 28kg - aiming for 30kg (it's a mental block rather than a strength issue!) by the end of the month.

    Didn't eat anything after dinner even though we went to the supermarket and I bought some chocolate. Maybe I'll end up intermittent fasting? My current eating pattern - if I skip the late night snacks - would have me eating between 7/8am and 7pm.

    We finally had some rain last night, though I'm not sure how much, and should have some later today. The heat has broken at last, and the plants will appreciate it I'm sure. I'd like to make progress at the allotment this evening but with my sister staying, and OH working, I'm probably going to feel like I need to be at home.

    I find it worthwhile, and justify it as I've thrown away so much money on gym memberships I didn't use, and fad diet foods, that investing in the premium version of the app that actually works for me is worth it.
    Plus you can usually try it free for a month and see if you like it before you're 100% committed for the fee for a year. I'd say try it out, see if it gives you a better interface and then you will know if it's worth it to you or not.

    I have the subscription and I like it so much better. I am worth the cost and like @PlaneMonkey says: how much money on other weight loss stuff have we all thrown away? It’s easy to cancel whenever you like, too.

    @jugar @ashleycarole86 I am fully a chicken running around with its head off!!! I am probably going to be very late recording steps & exercise this week so lets count me out but I'll report eventually for the monthly total. Can I also be a little late with weigh-in? Scale was the last thing on my mind this morning but I will try to record Thurs (tomorrow is moving day!)

    So behind on posts but I know I was on page 11 at some point so I will go back and read this weekend if I remember. My exercise has been non-existent but at least packing up has been a bit of a workout with heavy boxes and stairs. Eating not so great either but should be a little better this week before yet another busy weekend. Any Green Day fans? Wake me up when AUGUST ends. AHHHH!!!

    Moving day is very high on the list of excellent reasons for late/excused/blown off weigh-ins! Hope it goes well :heart:

    @DD265 I have had the MFP premium subscription since 2019 and I don't think I would ever go back! It gives a lot more info and no adds is especially awesome. I don't count any exercise calories either. When I set my calories it asks your activity level and I include my workout time and usually mark moderately active. That way I don't get double credit and too many calories.

    @PlaneMonkey Wow do you have a lot going on this week. Did you plan it all to arrive this week or did it just work out that way? I know the last time I bought a couch it took 3 months to show up!

    @Kali225 Good luck on your move. Hope you are getting use to the new job. Probably hard to feel settled in with so many moving parts right now.

    @ells_bellz Great job avoiding the binge! I am finding that when I want to give up and then let things go crazy it is a choice. It's hard to work through but it's worth working on. I definitely struggle in this area too. You are not alone.

    @bobagurl2017 That is really disappointing about the dog 😔 I would definitely be upset with that situation. Hope you find the right dog for you guys!

    What a step group! Congrats @KellyBgetsfit and @bobagurl2017 for flanking me on the podium! The thorn between two roses, as my dad used to say :smiley: Seriously, it is fabulous having such a great group of participants and such results week after week. There are no prizes, not even real competition - just the pleasure of moving more and keeping each other at it. Thanks!

    I did not hit my exercise goal today, but got a lot more practicing time than usual, which is at least physical, standing, deep breathing, and trying to figure out how to get all kinds of systems to work together. I also went to a rehearsal by a local dance company I hope to collaborate with this year. Just watching them should have burned quite a few calories, but somehow I don't think it works that way. Bummer!

    Time for the Wednesday Heads-Up!
    @AshenMoon
    @KellyBgetsFit
    @lauren_989

    And it is not too late for
    @jan110144
    @KayLRZ
    @christhiann
    @MoonlitMuse

    Keep well through moves, new teaching year beginnings, and all the other challenges. :heart:

    The hot tub arrived but the hose and pump system we rigged up to fill it wasn't powerful to pump it all the way up so after a dozen round trips or so up and down the cliff trying different hoses and routings, we finally gave up and used the garden hose and the house pump. We're about 2/3rds full after several hours. Fingers crossed it didn't overly exert the pump. It likely wiped through the filters so we will have to change them sooner than later.

    The tub got scratched up a bunch during delivery and a few of the refurbishment items we were promised were not done so overall we're pretty sad with the purchase but once we get it filled and the water chemicals sorted out I'm sure we will perk up. It's pretty with the lights on

    As for all the other things scheduled for this overwhelming week, they all just fell in place by accident. Québec has 'construction holiday' where most businesses shut down entirely for the last week of July and first week of August, so if you don't receive your order before mid-July, don't expect to see it before mid-August.... So the window companies should be calling any day now....
    The couch was the last show-room model left in the province and its being shipped to us Saturday from @jugar's neighbourhood store via the warehouse in Montreal. I've already arranged to give away the old couch on Friday evening so that's one thing off the list

    I did overeat this afternoon while I was anxiously awaiting the tub delivery. I will have to do better tomorrow. Can't have a complete rebound of last week's progress!

    Sadly I took my Garmin off so I could fit my arm into a gap in the tub base to connect the wiring and didn't put it back on before all my mountain goat action up and down the cliff with the hoses. Sigh. Would have liked to know the stats on that!

    Hi everyone. Took a 2 mile hike today but my Fitbit went critically low and shut down. Then I pretty much forgot to put it back on after it charged. I was over my 7k steps anyway, but guessing I would have easily been over 10k.

    Have you ever seen that photo of 5 pounds of fat? Well, lately I believe I can see/feel two of those right around my middle. Makes sense since I’ve gained about 2 and a half of them. I don’t like this. Ugh.

    @Kali225 Good luck with your move! Moving definitely counts as a workout.

    @PlaneMonkey Sorry to hear you ran into problems with the Hottub. The scratches are disappointing too. But once you’re enjoying those jets, you’ll forget about the scratches.

    @jugar so glad to hear you are playing your flute with purpose again. You must be so happy to play with other musicians.

    Hey team!

    Today was good. A smoothie for breakfast, veggie wraps for lunch, snacks that included oranges, radishes, and Greek yogurt, and a celebratory glass of champagne to celebrate my good friend's graduation from her college program.

    Work is stressful and will remain so, so I'm focusing on self-care and enjoying my time outside work as much as possible so I'm as refreshed as I can be when i get to work.

    Brad got home from his work trip and I joined him for 30 minutes of upper body strength training. Felt so good!

    @PlaneMonkey Sorry the tub delivery had bumps in the road. Hope those feelings do melt away when you take your first dip!

    @micki48 I have not seen that photo but I'm on my way to find it now!

    Happy Tuesday 😊
    I am really thrilled that I made a plan for my mother in laws birthday and I stuck with the plan 🙌 A lot of times I make the plan but things start to slide. I had to be pretty strict with breakfast and lunch to get all of the macros to work. I did a ton of cooking through out the day which kept me busy. I did some sewing today and added some more accessories to a clouds and crystals cage set for the guinea pigs. I definitely need a day off from cooking. I made everything from scratch for the party. Coconut shrimp, twice baked potato casserole and salad for the meal. I made a really fun Malibu sunset cake with Coconut rum in the batter and 3 flavors of icing (vanilla, cherry and pineapple). I made Malibu sunset drinks too!

    @PlaneMonkey That is so annoying that the hot tub delivery didn't go as planned and they didn't give you what they said they would. Hopefully they make it right. Either way hot tubs feel nice with or without scratches.

    @micki48 My wellness coach has the 5 lb fat gloob model in her office!

    @jugar You have had a lot of really interesting musical opportunities lately! Must be a very welcome change 😊 Love hearing about your adventures!

    @ashleycarole86 It is great that you are focusing on self care right now. It's amazing how just little things like that can carry you through tough times. Sometimes work can really push It's way to the forefront of our lives. I try and remember that if I work 40 hours a week I still have 128 hours a week at home. I hope you find some nice ways to make that time count! Hugs
