@tcathey45 I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear sister. My deepest and most sincere condolences to you and your family. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.1

I love that the total loss for 5 teams was 36.8 pounds and that THIS TEAM lost 20 of them! We really held up our end and are inspiring the others I'm sure. I know that competition is not the guiding force of these teams, and should not be, but it is still a cause to celebrate when those reasonable losses, those incremental changes, those days when you don't want to but you do anyhow all add up to something we can feel great about.
Above all the weigh-ins and losses that everyone is working for, never forget that the way you feel is the most important thing. It is certainly possible to feel great, be active, and enjoy your life without ever reaching a supposedly "healthy" BMI, weight, or shape. There are members on these teams who have been here for years, have never reached those mythical numbers, but they are feeling better through exploration of eating, moving, and dealing with stress in all kinds of ways. So don't panic if your numbers don't go the way you want them to - just keep exploring. Wear a hard hat!
OK - off to a day where I have to make a video. With myself in it. I hate doing that, but it is needed for an upcoming gig promo. At least it is with my friend and improvisation collaborator (co-conspirator?), and I'm sure we'll have fun. I hope. Have a great day, all!
Sunday weigh-ins, always a late reminder

Oh, and before I go - @ashleycarole86 those pictures of you and Brad on your hot air balloon ride were awesome. So glad you were finally able to go!6 -
Morning all!
Thanks for sharing the joy with me in my balloon pictures. Still riding high with smiles in my mind from the great day!
Yesterday was one of the least active days I've had in a long time. We were at the lake and my on call work duties took until almost lunch. Then, our trailer neighbors came up and Brad ended up cooking lunch for all of us, so we visited then. We were zonked after our crazy long and active day Friday so I had an epic afternoon nap (unusual for me) and then it was time for a planned supper with our neighbors where we visited until after 10.
So, no exercise, no walking, just napping, eating, and visiting! Sometimes you gotta take a day like that.
Today isn't shaping up much better (so far) as it's almost noon and I have less than 500 steps! We are going to turn that around here shortly with a dog walk.
We have supper out at an unknown restaurant with a friend from out of town tonight. He has a two year old so it will likely be somewhere kid friendly. As soon as I know what he's picking I can pre-plan my meal!
WAY TO GO TEAM WAISTAWAYS! Love all the progress. @jugar makes a good point... success looks different for all of us, but what we all have in common is a desire to work on ourselves!
The journey is a long one, so let's enjoy it as best we can. Glad to have the company of such a lovely team to share it with.
Exercise catch-up for week 3:
8/18 - 11364 steps
8/19 - 6613 steps + 177 minutes outdoor cycling

@ashleycarole86 that is so cool. We have the largest International Balloon Fiesta here in October. I will have to post pics some time. Once it cools off in the fall, will start to have balloons in the air every morning. My friends husband has a balloon, but I am terrified to go in it!!3

Today, I took my measurements. It was not pleasant. 😂 But, I meet the teacher I will be working with tomorrow. So, A New start?!
My plan is to log everything, stay under calories, get my steps and drink that water. One perfect day—right? I often do better when I have structure to my day.
I also plan to start weighing every day for a while to see if that keeps me more on track.
Way to go team!!! I’m so PROUD of all you wonderful losers. I’m hoping I join you next week. 😁6 -

Your pictures are amazing @ashleycarole86, I'm glad you both enjoyed it!
I did not succumb to late night snacking any day of the week which is a huge win for me. On Saturday we had a salad with allotment tomatoes, cucumber and beetroot - the beetroot is the stripy kind and it was delicious. I'm glad I have a few more! We have eaten out a lot though due to having house guests. However, they've now gone, and the house is ours for 3-ish weeks until my sister comes to cat sit and we go on holiday.
Mom and I did several sewing projects over the weekend, a lot of shopping and a lot of talking. I did not find any clothes for my upcoming holiday (plenty of other things, of course), and I felt really big in a lot of what I tried on. My main battle is against the worry that I'll ruin our holiday by feeling self conscious, so I'm reminding myself that nobody cares, everybody has their own hang ups etc, and I've ordered some clothes online to try, plus planning a shopping centre trip one evening.
After talking with Mom, I concluded we're basically the same person! All the same worries, feelings etc. She'd not shared any of it with another person before, so she came away feeling like the weight of the world had been lifted. For me it was good to talk with somebody who really understands, and some of what Mom said helps builds the picture of where my perfectionism-tied-to-self-esteem comes from.
The morning after our big talk, I contacted a cleaner and she will come weekly. I need to lighten the load somehow and I think this is a good step in that direction. I feel less guilty about spending the money now. Of course, it does mean running around tidying and cleaning before she comes lol, so that's the main plan for this evening, plus a bit of allotment time.9 -
Good morning WaistAways!
I am hopelessly thread bankrupt, haha.
@ashleycarole86 I do have activity numbers for last week, a little late! My total activity minutes were 420, goal 180. Very happy about that.
I weighed in at 181.8 today, but I feel very bloated and ovulation is coming, so I'm going to drink my water and hope for a whoosh sometime this week so that my weigh-in Friday doesn't look too terrible. But bodies be bodying, I understand.
We won the competition last week! Very exciting! And it's thanks to us being so green as a team, love that for us.
Have a great day, everyone!6 -

Hi. Busy day at school. Got in my steps, fair water. Unfortunately, I’m in the breakfast club today. It’s the only meal I logged. Scale is up a bit again. 🙁
I’ll aim for that perfect day tomorrow or, at least, more “perfecter “ than today. 🙂5 -

Hey, just want to see if you have Saturday the 20th for me - don't want to miss out on the final day of another awesome week for you! If you can get it to me by tomorrow, that would be great0 -
Evening team!
I officially feel run ragged. I have caught up here, and the step report is almost ready, so I'll have that tomorrow. So lovely to see how everyone is doing.
I have been super short on time lately, and what has given is my exercise minutes. I am still getting movement in, but not what I want to get in.
It's little things... for example an operational upset came up at work tonight right at the end of the day and I ended up having to work over 2.5 hours late.
Last week, it was a work meeting getting called over my lunch hour, which ate into my planned time for getting my steps.
Some of it has been fun things, like an unexpected extra visit from our trailer neighbors on Saturday which meant I had less time than I thought to be active.
I've also made choices. I could either go to bed at a reasonable time, or exercise. Depending on the day, I choose what I need most.
All that to say, the seasons of life ebb and flow. What I will remain primarily focused on is what goes in my mouth. I have way less "fun calories" when I'm not exercising as much, but that's okay. The plan works the same. I just eat in accordance with my activity, and move on.
I've been serious with myself throughout this journey that my foundation had to be solid, so that when these moments of busyness (or life stuff) came up, I still had the tools. This is the kind of stress that would have driven me to the bottom of a chip bag before. Now, I do what I can.... nothing more, nothing less, but I remind myself food doesn't fix anything, I drink my water, I plan food before I eat it, and I'm nice to myself!
And most importantly... I check in here, confess it all, and start fresh the next day

@CarolAnnM2 I will be sharing with @bowens1973 your amazing news
You have been doing so well with your steady, consistent weight loss pre-surgery. Your surgeon is going to be pleased with you. I look forward to hearing how this life-changing moment goes for you! Less than a month now - so exciting!3 -
@micki48
A busy time in your life getting back to school!
Breakfast club is better than no club!! Maybe tomorrow it will be two meals Like you said - more perfecter than today!

Lastly, 8/21 exercise: 7091 steps4

I've had a wobbly few days, it started on Friday when I weighed in and the scale did not reflect what I thought it should. I know the scale is data and one of many tools in my toolbox and I shouldn't let it upset me, but it did and it took me three days to work through it 🙆🏼♀️
On the flip side, I had a loss. I also stuck to exercising, tracking and drinking my water, all good things.
So I’m happy to report that today I’ve finally let it go, phew!
