Hi SS.... You have a new member joining your team for October...Please welcome @maryk1a11

OMG, I am so glad I made the decision to leave this job. We had a meeting to discuss how to cut down on nursing visits because Ill be leaving, and both middle school and high school nursing offices are constantly busy, and 75% of the visits are either super minor and dont need a nurse, or not a nursing problem. My boss made a comment that the principals said that we sit at our desks and do nothing all day...Dude if I ever wanted to lose it on someone, that would have been it. I have been extremely busy, and am so far behind on other stuff because I have a never ending flow of kids in my office. most days I dont even eat until 230 and even then I am interrupted 2-5 times while eating. They automatically take 30 minutes out for lunch and I dont even get to take a lunch, ever.
Now my ranting is over, I have 2 weeks left here, then Im out. Once I am done here, I will be way more active and I can not wait. that job is a very active job, and having 3 days off a week, I plan to work out those 3 days, and hopefully the mornings of the other days as well, get back into my healthy lifestyle I once lived. I used to plan every meal, do meal planning, If what the family wanted wasnt super healthy, I would make seperate meals, but as of the last couple years I ended up working more and then working 6-7 days a week, health and fitness went on the back burner, and I have been so exhausted that workouts almost completely went down the drain, so with this switch, I am going to start working on my self again, and I can not wait, I feel like such a huge weight has been lifted, its just crazy, I didnt realize how much my situation has been weighing me down.6 -
@angmarie28 I'm so happy for you!! You sound so relieved2

@angmarie28 , some times improving our mental or emotional health issues in the long run can improve our physical as well. It all actually ties in. It took me such a long time to realize that.1

WELCOME @maryk1a1 !! So glad you found us!! Take a few minutes and go back to page 1 and read our FAQ file, which is the first posting in September. It should answer a lot of your questions. If not please post your questions and we'll try to help in any way we can. Also, take time to introduce yourself and tell us a little about your goals!
I hope you find this team to be as helpful as I have over the years I've been here. On behalf of the whole team and our two motivators @PatriceFitnessPal and @angmarie28 again, welcome! Let us know how we can better support you!

This last week's food choices were better than previous. Exercise has been tough though. Somehow, I pulled a muscle in my hip Hoping it's better soon so I can get back to walking regularly.
@PatriceFitnessPal - thanks for the congrats!
@jessicakrall8 - glad you're feeling better!

Daily step goal: 10,000
Sun 9/25: 11,782
Mon 9/26: 14,743
Today is day 30 of my 30-day 10k challenge! I can't wait for tomorrow, when I'll be able to relax and give my legs a break. While I'm delighted I'm been able to take 3-mile walks these days, I've also felt sore at times, and it feels like a chore to get moving again after sitting for a while. That might be because of my age, but I'm hoping some recovery time can help.

9/20 - 9,535
9/21 - 9,205

* didn't realize it had been so long since updating my steps.
Been feeling a slump these past 2 days. Work is getting back to normal levels (slightly less busy), but I just feel very tired and overall un-motivated (with everything: work life/home life/personal goals). I'm thinking it may be burnout and I might need to take a break to re-charge.
If you guys have any thoughts/input on how you re-charge after periods of high output followed by lackadaisicalness (disinterest/apathy) I'd love to hear it.1 -
@frankwbrown - Fantastic work, on that 30-day 10k Challenge!2

Welcome to the new members of our Shape Shifter team!
We’ll introduce ourselves in more detail when the October chat opens but feel free to tell us a little bit about what motivated you to join the F2F challenge. We’re here to support one another and wish you the best in reaching your goals.
It’s hard to believe it’s almost a new month!0 -
Hi Y'all:
Great accomplishment @frankwbrown !! Amazing job and we're all cheering you on!! Yes, we all need to rest and listen to what our body tells us. Hope you feel rested soon and set another goal. It's so much fun to meet the goals!
Nice loss @ac204 ! WTG!
@KHill875 Got you all caught up...now please post every few days...and wow, you're steps are looking great! So proud of all the walkers this month! You guys are doing such a great job!! YAYYYY!!
Hope everyone had a great day! Mine was busy, but productive...so far, so good this week. Not as hectic as I feared! Tomorrow my appliances are installed. Praying there are no problems! Then, following that, just need to have a couple of touch ups and inspections done and I'll be able to sign up for my "I survived kitchen renovation" t-shirt! LOL
I'm going to go lie down for a bit and then take a short walk. Have a great evening all!

Congratulations to all the walkers!
@frankwbrown - I definitely don’t walk or exercise as much as you do but I’m familiar with that soreness you mentioned. I sometimes try to remember when I was a kid and felt sore walking down the stairs after too much practice or playing. That way, I can feel young instead of old. It’s fleeting but I enjoy the thought briefly.1 -
@angmarie28 - I’m glad to hear you’re feeling good about your job change. What a relief to know you made the right decision. I’m glad you advocated for yourself. You’re so right about the unconscious burden the stress brings to our lives.
Thanks for the reminder that there is a path forward when we feel that way.1
