My no zero win-30 minutes dance ,stayed under calorie goal4 -
I have been using the no zero days principle this week and I really like it! It has been tough with two family birthdays. I did win by only eating one slice of cake for each birthday. I would normally just eat slices every day until each one was gone. I have also done a walk out of the house every day. I did want to hit 10000 steps each day but at least I did 5000 plus each day. This time of year is so tough in our house.3

Hi friends, love how well everyone is doing with No Zero Days! I've done well with exercise but am eating and drinking more than normal with Bill here. My concert with my brother was a blast last night, both bands were real good. I've worked out the last two days too so not totally off track but when I wear a medium shirt and was told I had to choose between a small and large I decided I'd rather eat cookies this year and went with the large but doesn't mean I want it to be a tight fit! Today Bill and I went and helped load the food bank truck and then unload and put scooters and bikes together at the food bank, I didn't last super long but was glad we were able to help for a few hours. Tomorrow's the event so I'm skipping my workout to help out. They decided not to allow kid volunteers as it could make the kids receiving gifts self-conscious so my nephew can't come which is a bummer but understandable. The woman who runs the charity I'm with said she's still bringing her son and my nephew is doing a lot better now with anxiety/mental health but I don't want to risk him being told to leave and him getting his feelings hurt on my watch. Bill and I will probably go look at lights tomorrow night then he leaves Sunday. There's a small chance I'll go to my uncle's with my brother for a Christmas party Sunday night but think with the rain I'm going to have to lay low instead of traveling 2 hours each way. Oh I'm meeting the new food bank farm manager next Friday with the old manager and other most frequent volunteer next week for coffee, can't wait to hear his ideas and get involved with starting seeds/greenhouse stuff, I miss it there so much! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.3

Not surprised by the gain but disappointed nonetheless to have to formally admit to it 😔.3 -
It has been a super busy week, but I am still keeping up with the posts as I wait in line at the gym:). I am going to TRY to do a proper post later (but I think that everyday). Haven’t done great with eating but not too bad, I have been able to keep up with my workouts so that has been super helpful. For now here is pic of my little sweetie❤️

@trooworld - Does it sound bad to say that I'm happy the luncheon was such a wreck? Thank you for the idea about my couch potato habit. It's a good one! Hope your eye feels better quick.
@Ftofit- I like journaling too. I can get a flow going, but when I skip some days, it's over. Keep us updated on how you are doing with this. You may have inspired me to try again.
@shaunarlr1983 - it sounds like lots of great things are happening in your life. Hooray!
@tamevv- I thought you were in New Zealand so at least I was close. I've said/heard brush your teeth in the US.... anyone say other things? I will send you a link to the video, but not one of me doing it LOL. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your post about taking care of your future self. That is going in my journal and I will be using that thought in my daily activities. Thank you!
@Katmary71 - sounds like lots of fun stuff this weekend. So cool about the bikes! Please update us on it all when you can.
@laurelfit57 - Christmas Vannie is soooooo cute!
No Zero day- Thurs/Fri--- eating was decent, that's about all I can say.
Christmas Eve is one week away! I am behind in getting ready, but I have a plan to catch up- time to get at it.

No Zero Saturday
Did an extra walk with my hub in the eve to look at Christmas lights.
Unfortunately, there's been two restaurant meals over the weekend- I'm full of salt. And someone gave me a small tin of chex mix covered in white chocolate. It's like crack to me and I'm the only one who can eat it as it has nuts and everyone here is allergic. I might have to throw it out.
Having a lovely weekend though!

I just need the right catalyst to start counting calories and just keep at it. It’s happened in the past and unfortunately, I just woke up in the morning one day ready to make it happen.
For me it was wrapping my head around that this is a lifestyle change not a weight loss plan, but losing weight was part of it. I realized that I will always need to count calories and weigh my foods. And that maintenance is only about 200 calories more than I'm currently eating. So, I learned along the way what works and what doesn't, and I fought my cookie demon and I won. Cookies no longer control me, I control them. They are in the house, and I have not touched them for months (probably not good enough to eat now). I want to look good in my clothes, and I want to move easier. If I have to throw food away so it does not wind up on my hips, then that's win for me. I do try to donate or give to my neighbors first. I've lost nearly 105 pounds I'm less than a pound away from my goal weight. I'm excited to be there. I set a goal that I could meet and a clothing size I want to wear. I'm not buying bigger clothes, and I don't really need smaller clothe either. I'm happy where I am. You need to have some love for yourself, losing weight is a personal journey. We deserve to treat ourselves with kindness and love. I decided where I wanted to be then I got there 5lbs at a time. I didn't look at the 105 pounds. I did 5lbs goals, then another and another. I weight myself every day. It's a tool, my emotions and how I feel about myself are not determined by a number on my scale.
I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you so much for the replies on your motivation or your catalyst for weight loss. I’m stuck in the self-sabotage stage. I feel crappy all the time but I keep doing stuff that I know will make me feel crappy.
No more. I deserve to feel good. I deserve to treat myself well.
Here’s to a good week ahead to everyone. Only two more left in this year. We made it! Let’s finish 2022 strong and healthy!4 -
@trooworld Thank you, my older nephew is doing really great now, he's volunteered for things at his school without any prompting so he's really turned a corner as far as school goes, I couldn't be more proud of him. Your eyelid sounds really uncomfortable, I hope you turn a corner with it soon. Organizing your craft stuff sounds fun, I like getting everything organized plus you may feel inspired for your next project.
@Laurelfit57 Vannie looks beautiful, she's rocking that red scarf!
@Cornanda good luck on getting caught up on Christmas planning! The walk with your husband sounds wonderful. That chex mix sounds incredible, yikes!
@vegan4lyfe2012 @megnolia82 @Cornanda Way to go leaders!
@FushiaKat Wow Kat you've come so far, I love that you've mastered the cookie demon as you put it! Your weight loss is so amazing, you're doing incredible! I think that's a big thing people don't realize with losing weight especially a lot like you is it changes you in ways you wouldn't have guessed when you started and usually for the better. Thank you for the great advice, I notice your self-respect when you post now and it makes me so happy for you.
Hi everyone, weekend is over and we're quickly approaching the holidays! I had a great time being involved in the Let It Snow toy project, the setup was fun and yesterday watching excited kids and family have a blast was wonderful. A group of sewers made blankets and quilts and the kids were just as excited choosing one as they were all the bikes and toys. I helped check in kids but after almost having to turn a little boy away who had his scooter stolen and was jumping up and down excitedly to get one I chose to sit for a bit then help out versus sitting the whole time. Bill was one of the elves and got to take kids through to choose gifts and he had a great time. It was definitely not uncommon to burst into tears in the middle of the event for everyone involved. We met my family for lunch and ice cream after my youngest nephew's recital then went to a craft fair and shopped then came home and made a bunch of cookies. I'm not doing the best with food having it all in the house and haven't worked out for 2 days but will get back to it tomorrow. I'm completely worn out today and plan to go to bed early, I have an eye appointment in the morning. Have a great Monday everyone!4 -
Hey y'all,
Well, I don't do very much "partying" but, this weekend, I sure did a lot of it. Today, I have been on the couch recovering and drinking water when I'm not sleeping. Tomorrow, I'm getting back on track!!4 -
@FushiaKat - your post is amazing! It really moved me. Thank you.
@Katmary71 - what a wonderful event- I'm glad you got to take part in it.
@trooworld - one of the kids had a stye years ago and I think they take awhile to look better? Keep on with those compresses and meds.
No zero Sunday- had a light dinner.
Got a LOT of Christmas stuff caught up over the weekend, but I will have to push to finish. My daughter arrives tonight! She took some time off work, so she will be able to stay longer than usual. This will be a joyful week!

@Cornanda it is good that you like journaling.i m a lazy person and easily gets distracted.i have wrote for last four days without a miss .i m suffering from anxiety and depression for some time.i read in an article that journaling will help but it is not easy .writing about my worries made me more anxious and i left journaling in few days .so i m writing about things that lift my mood.i m using this list and write for 10- 15minutes.

I am done being wishy-washy with my goals and being flabby. Today is Day 1 of losing 6 lb in 9 weeks. Nothing drastic, just a firm, renewed commitment to sticking to my goals. That's a deficit of 335 calories per day. I can do this. I will weigh 132 before I set sail to the Caribbean with my husband!5

Busy busy busy….
Friday my sister - in - law asked me to help do her girls hair for homecoming. I had fun spending time with my nieces and doing girlie stuff. Saturday I rushed a photo shoot with my daughter and her friend out at the mountains, I was bummed I didn’t plan things out better to get a hike in. Then stopped by and cut my two youngest nieces hair and had a good visit with my sister, came back and helped my mom swap out her dining room table and chairs and then we shopped yesterday for new material to cover the cushions. Made it into the gym before getting dressed and going to see the Christmas lights at the zoo with my kids and my sons gf. Didn’t get home until almost 2am and had my counseling appointment at 8:30 today. It was so nice to just talk to someone, who knew exactly what I dealt with. We visited for almost 2 hours and determined I’m in a pretty good place the only area I’m lacking is actually getting to work. She knew someone else who had applied for the same job I was looking into and it was 6 months before she was hired so I’m going to have to do something else in the mean time. More shopping today for snacks and finger foods at our family Christmas on Christmas Eve and then I plan to sit and relax a bit. My daughter is working too much, trying to do all the fun stuff on her days off, and not resting so I told her no gym until she catches up on sleep. We have our first winter storm coming in Thursday. I’m hoping to get a hike or at least a nice walk in before the blizzard hits. I’m doing okay with eating twice a day and exercising regularly even though food choices aren’t great I’m trying no to over do any unhealthy options. I am very ready to get a bit more serious and shed some major weight before summer.2 -
Hi all, just checking in a sits busy busy this week. Non zero yesterday was that I did a short step class after my usual morning exercise and added some crunches.
👋👋3 -
@trooworld vannie does not like getting dressed up at all lol she will tolerate it for long enough for me to take a picture🤣. I wish she was more like Daisy! I really hope your eye is improving and will be 100% for Christmas. I really understand about getting hungry and how those fast food restaurants just call our names! It sounds like you are getting super organized and right on track for Christmas. How is your eye doing?
@Katmary71 you made me laugh, telling your story about your flapper, it reminded me of something that happened with my cousin. Last summer we met her, my mom and I met her for lunch when we travelled to Calgary (about three hours from here). We were sitting there enjoying a lovely lunch, when all of a sudden, my cousin covered her mouth and said “oh no!” Apparently her crown had broken off of her front tooth earlier and the dentist had temporarily fixed it, so that she could meet my mom and I for lunch. Poor dear, it fell out when she took a bite of her salad of all things! Luckily, we all had a very good chuckle about it🤪. Your let it Snow Project. Sounds like it really was amazing!
@Cornanda that Tex-Mex mix sounds too good for words! Good for you and getting all that Christmas stuff done. I know you were going to have an amazing time with your daughter, these are such special times enjoy.❤️!
@Fushiakat good for you and your battle with the cookie demon, I am nowhere near there! I definitely subscribe to the plan of giving all of those types of foods to my kids, the only time they are in my house is if we have had a big family meal here. Those things always go home with my kids :-). You have done so well on your amazing journey!
@happysquidmuffin that sounds like a super realistic goal, I know you can do this!
Sounds like everybody has been super busy, the month of December is always crazy.
Last week on Thursday I tried doing my two classes and I thought I took it easy. By about 1 o’clock I was feeling really rough by about 3 o’clock. I was laying on the couch and shaking, I understand it was a buildup of lactic acid, but honestly, besides stretching a few times, I was toast! I thought I was going to be in rough shape on Friday, but I was just fine.
It is so darn cold here, there is no getting out and walking that is for sure! It is about -36°C here. I take Vannie out for really quick potty breaks and she hast to have her boots on for those because it is too cold to go out without them even for a couple of minutes. There is a Mall about five minutes from my house, so I have done mall walking a couple of days to make sure I am getting my steps in lol.
I was supposed to do my first fun agility match on Saturday, but unfortunately, it was cancelled as our weather here has been horrendous the last week. It’s OK, I was super nervous about it. Lol. But I have signed up for one in January. I messaged my agility instructor about something I was trying to learn with Vannie and she said that she could see Vannie and I going to regionals and then nationals (it is because Vannie is such a quick learner and so FAST, I just try to keep up)! I told her that scared the daylights out of me! For right now we are having a lot of fun and just trying to figure out what the heck is going on :-) :-).
I gained a half a pound this past week, but I figured that is the half pound I lost last week, so I am good with that. I only have one birthday dinner this week and then, of course Christmas dinner this week, I am really going to try to stay on course the rest of the week! My clothes are getting too tight and I refuse to buy larger sizes. I need to get back into my goal range, but for December I am OK.2 -
@DrewsAnna Oh no hope you're feeling back to normal, drink lots of water and keep resting! Sad when we were young we could hang with wild nights so much better, now you do a half wild one and you're absolutely exhausted for days.
@Cornanda Glad your daughter is on the way and you're not too far behind. Yes it will be a joyful week!
@trooworld Is the eyelid any better? Funny with things like you you're positive the whole world is staring at you but they really aren't, I hope it clears up soon! Glad you're feeling better today, that build-your-own-salad sounds awesome!
@FtoFit I love that list!
@happysquidmuffin I love your enthusiasm, sounds like a sexy bathing suit will be in order for the trip!
@shaunarlr83 You sound really busy but it's all good stuff aside of waiting to hear bout the job! I'm glad couseling went well, the right therapist helps a lot.
@laurelfit57 Your poor cousin, how embarrassing to lose her tooth then! I kept thinking of me eating without a eyetooth at the dinner table on Christmas Eve without a tooth and I couldn't do it but at least the flapper is here if it comes out. Wow are you thinking of taking Vannie to regionals and nationals? I'm glad you're having fun whether you do that or not.
Hi team! I'm still really worn out, I worked out this morning and felt real weak so I skipped weights and just got through cardio and stretching as I had an appointment. When I got to it I was told my insurance won't cover the exam until January so no new glasses yet for me. It's chilly for CA today, I need to go to 3 pairs of pants instead of 2 and it's only 40 degrees but makes my legs go bonkers. I came home and got in bed to warm up and conked out for 2 hours. Got a lot of work done this afternoon, I cleaned most the kitchen after I made a huge mess making cookies and need to finish cleaning it then going to bed early. Have an awesome Tuesday!2
