HOW IT ALL WORKS: The February challenge runs from January 29 - Feb 25. F2F months always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday, so adjust your calendars!
Everyone weighs in weekly on their chosen day right here in the team chat thread. At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also celebrate those small, steady losses. If you lose, however small an amount, you are in the green! At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost at least a bit every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard.
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you take a break, you can be excused for a week or two, or are moved to the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

I am Patsy and trying to maintain maybe even lose a couple pound s. I have been fighting liver cancer (the hardest to beat as of now no cure) but I plan to do just that. I have never accepted bad news from a doctor without a smile and a "just watch me" in my head". I have tried lots of chemo and an immunotherapy drug so far nothing has worked but I feel OK. I have been on here at least five years and really enjoy the encouraging advice everyone HS to losing those extra pounds! I have lost 20+ then got back about 15 trying not to give in to the cancer! I really needed to lose that 20.7

Hello all! My name is Terry and I've been on the weight loss roller coaster for so long and I'm excited to make this the year of living healthy! It's been a tough year health wise and I've gained 10lb in the last few months from inactivity and emotional eating. I tend to reach for food as my comfort when things aren't going very well. Anxious to get back into being active and healthy so I can play with my grandchildren instead of sitting on the sidelines! The bonus will be fitting into my summer clothes that I haven't been able to wear for the last 4 years! Success to us all!7

Hi Terry and Patsy. Patsy your survival story of beating cancer is inspiring.
I’m Rachel and have been a member of team WNM since January 2021. I lost 60 pounds by 2022 but gained 20 of them back in 2022. My weight has been up and down like that for most my adult life..my 20’s and 30’s. I’m now 41. This team inspires me to make my weight a priority. I’m glad I’ve stuck with y’all. Otherwise I may not pay attention to my weight and that would lead to me gaining more back. I’m at a pretty comfortable weight now but I think having about 10 more pounds off will be the best for me. The thing about my weight that annoys me the most is that it fluctuates by about two to six pounds depending on the time of day or time of the month. That’s why I’m now thinking I need to pick an ideal weight that has a range. I’m thinking that if I get my weight to between 144-150 (with my clothes on), I will be happiest. So anything over 150 at any time of the day or month will alert me to go back in diet mode. I’m currently fluctuating between 154 and 160 (with my clothes on) .7 -

I started doing the Fat to Fit challenges in September 2022 and since then have lost a total of 18.1 lbs.
I enjoy these challenges and they really help to keep me motivated. Overall, since making my lifestyle change in January 2022, I have lost a total of 65.3 lbs. My goal weight is 135-140 so I have about 25-30 more lbs to go. I hope to make goal weight by sometime over the summer.
I will be going to Florida on vacation for 11 days in February so my short term goal will be to not gain any weight while I am away.
Wishing everyone much success and good health!6 -

Haven’t been posting lately due to taking care of elderly family members. But I have been able to stay on track with eating if not with activity😳. The last 2 weeks I’ve implemented intermittent fasting and after a couple of tough days it has become easier and I’m feeling better. This upcoming week I’m going to concentrate on daily activity and just moving more.7 -
Today is Day #1 of this challenge and I am determined to get it done! I just weighed myself yesterday but did it again today to start things off. I'm also planning my meals for today and tomorrow.
Here's to success!

Happy New Month, Everybody! So happy to see all the new faces in the chat (and the old ones too, not that I'm calling anyone old, I swear)!
I am minstrelofsarcasm, also known as Minstrel, also known as Ashley, also known as "that sweaty girl in the corner"... I am one of the co-captains along with the ever-marvelous @melaniedscott. My role here is to provide some real talk, some good motivation, and a few too many jokes about stress eating for anyone's comfort levels.
The Basics:
I am 27 and currently living in Ohio. I work as an innovation engineer for an industrial manufacturing company. I am fascinated by all facets of science, whether that be nuclear physics, nutrition, geology (I hear it rocks), chemistry, etc. Feel free to ask any of your questions when it comes to the science of things. I can't guarantee I'll know the answer, but I can definitely figure it out and provide an answer in a way that's (hopefully) understandable.
Why I am Here:
I love numbers, and when I discovered that I could get healthier (as my doctor told me I absolutely had to do) by keeping track of numbers, I signed up for MFP. My original weight was 8lbs 2oz, and while I don't think I'll ever make it quite that low ever again, my goal is to never be above my highest weight of 234 (September 2014).
Despite having joined this wonderful community, I didn't take my weight loss or my health seriously until after I graduated college in May 2017 and was told by a different doctor that my eating and (lack of) exercise habits put me on the road to diabetes. I'll admit, I was terrified. I grew up with a diabetic parent who took no actions towards improving their health to reduce their dependence on insulin and is now facing some very serious health complications. I didn't want that to happen to me - I wouldn't want to put anyone through having to worry about me in the same way I worried about them.
So I searched "gym" on Google Maps, and signed up for a free class with the first place that popped up in the results, a spin studio. Since July 1st, 2017, I have completed over 1,040 spin classes. There was some… drama at the spin studio, so I no longer have a membership, but will drop in from time to time.
In other news, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in December 2019 after an arduous journey from doctor to doctor, through several misdiagnoses (why is it that the first thing a doctor will suggest is anxiety if you're female and show emotion in the doctor's office?), 14 vials of blood drawn for blood tests, 3 weeks of being unable to consistently feel the left side of my body, 2 MRIs, 1 spinal tap, and a partridge in a pear tree. I could go into a long rant about everything, and I have, but there's no need to fill my introduction with things you don’t have time to read.
In Summary:
Since joining MFP, I have lost over 70 lbs, regained about 15 while on a three-month business trip in France (wine and cheese is my weakness), lost 5 of them, gained 5 of them, maintained throughout 2020, yo-yo'ed for the first few months of 2021, and here I stand (sit) around 170 lbs, over 60 lbs lost. I don't have a goal weight anymore, since BMI was developed by a mathematician and not a doctor, and as long as I feel healthy, I can weigh whatever I want (somewhere in the 150's sounds pretty good right now, but I guess we'll see).
As for exercising, I have recently joined a new gym. Between spending time with my friend (who has a personal training certification, and who I guess is now my personal trainer) and dropping in on spin classes and all the amenities my new gym has to offer, I am hoping to get back on track. Previously, I have had memberships with CycleBar, OrangeTheory, and F45 - By no means am I an expert on fitness classes, but I know a thing or two.
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you even more as we work our way through the month.

Hello! I was glad to be in this group- lost 5 lbs during the month! Would love to continue the same trend in Feb!
I have never succeeded in following through on consistently tracking food/exercise in MFP. Does anyone have a good system/way that you have figured out to make sure you track things?4 -

Hi!
I just keep my phone handy and input as I go, helps to keep me accountable. If I left it til the evening I'd forget things.

It is time for change and for prioritizing my health. The goal is to make the person I see in mirror match the person I feel like inside. This week has been particularly challenging, Monday I was caring for my father-in-law as he passed from life to death (he lived a long, full and purposeful life). I am struggling to not eat my feelings and instead express them in a constructive and healthy way. Let's do this!8 -

Hello All,
Sorry for the late post. The weekend was full and tiring. I'm glad the weight went down, even if just a little bit. I'm looking forward to starting some new yoga and zumba classes this week. I've been doing better about getting my yoga, meditation and journaling done. I need to keep working on logging food and maintaining a calorie deficit.
Keep up the good work, everyone! Here's to a good February.
Peace.

Good Morning Team WNM!. I had a nice January with a loss of 7.1 lbs. At 5 foot tall that is a lot of weight. I am a person who has had her weight yo yo for her entire adult life. I have thoughts about food that are disfunctional in my life. I have been putting a lot of practice into changing my thoughts. People say it can be done so I continue to practice. I am going to loose weight. My ultimate goal is to be in a weight range of 140-145. That means I need to loose 20lbs to get me to the top end of my goal. I am 55 years old, married with 4 adult children and 4 beautiful grandchildren. My husband is as supportive as he can be but he cannot wrap his head around why I don't "JUST" stop eating when I am full. I have used food for pain medication for years. I have a chronic pain condition that does not respond to medication. I have lyme disease, fibromyalgia, and arthritus. And that is me. More or less. Just a farm girl in Michigan losing weight. I look forward to February with everyone.
My goal is to lose 4 pounds this month.
What is yours?5 -

@crhillis - my strategy is to preplan all my meals, even snacks, and enter them into the app first thing every morning. Later in the day, if I need to make a change, I adjust it then. I also enter my exercise as soon as I complete it and I add to it later in the day if I need to. This has worked well for me so far.2 -

@lisal0sinlbs - I'm so sorry for your loss. You have a wonderful attitude about how to handle your feelings. I'm sure your FIL would be very proud of you.3 -

I always make sure I start logging early in the day, often after I take my multivitamin during my morning routine. Incorporating MFP early helps set a precedent for the day, which makes me more likely to stick with it. I'm not great about logging dinner, honestly, but I'm a rockstar when it comes to logging breakfast, lunch, snacks, and my workouts.2 -

I have the app on my phone and use it to track. I also sign up for the habit tracker each month to make sure I have that pushing me on to be accountable as well.2 -

good morning team weight no more. I did great yesterday. drank my water, did my steps, and stayed in my calorie zone. I am not feeling well. I haven't been for a few weeks now. When you have chronic pain it is hard to to know when to go to the doctor. But the pain has been more than my average for a while now. I am planning a trip to Fort Lauderdale to pick up my granddaughter and son and then heading to Fort myers. Does anyone know what it is like in fort myer now after the hurricane?4
